Channel 6 news broadcast tower made of cardboard? Not quite sure what I’m seeing here. Bebop is just the prototype. Street scene diorama looks normal.

It's an early look at the changes they are going to make to the street scene dio. They're just using the standard dio as a stand in. The cardboard is likely just to gauge size, and their are print outs of other additions in the other photo.

I hope we get the robotic Bebop and Rocksteady from the episode the tower image seems to be inspired by. (Only had robotic Rocksteady of the two as a kid)

I've been wanting an Alien 1 Ripley for ages but not enough to pay ebay money for her, so the announcement of this Ultimate Ripley is fantastic news for me.

As far as the rest of the announcements go, NECA sometimes gets on these absurd kicks where they'll milk a certain character with multiple incremental releases and ultimately kill the line overall. Previously they did it with Crash and It, and now they're doing it with the friggin' Fugitive Predator, who has been done to death with so many different versions (many of which are still peg warming like mad at Target) that it's almost funny. Just stop.

Yeah, even I wondered at those releases you mentioned and I don't even follow those.

With the welcome relative slowdown in Alien/Predator releases I buy way less NECA than I used to:

The QC issues are either gone or totally baked into some figures

I was never paying the scalper prices on the 'exclusives everybody wants but can't get merry-go-round' for Alien/Predator/T2

There really isn't much more they can do with Alien/Predator even if they get Danny Glover and the like onboard

The Toony Terrors line will only be minimal in my terms and I barely touch the horror or video game stuff

I am however all-in on TMNT! And Kenner T2 if that appears. Hope Dark Fate doesn't affect it any further, cos in the UK at least the Kenner wave peg warmed.

Ah. ok. Hopefully they make a kit available to adapt the existing street dioramas. I don't want to be buying a new one every year.

I really love the diorama, tho. It's my "buy of the year" for 2019.

Depends what you mean. There are characters they haven't done from the expanded universe (games and comics mostly). There are still Kenner homages they can work with. While they've covered most of what they can with the movies (i.e. some actors won't license their likeness or cost too much) they can swing back and give us some ultimates of older stuff like Wolf, the super predators and the Predator 2 predators.

That said, the slow down we're seeing may well be to sales starting to shrink. Eventually people get bored and move on and most folks are happy with the movie lineup caring very little for the kenner and expanded universe stuff.

Even the characters from the games and comics won't really add up to much, and it might be a tough sell doing bit part releases or otherwise of the 'lesser' movies (they're not IMO, and I'd just like to state that I'll likely buy anything lol).

I suspect the slowdown is the inevitable consequence of dealing with the factory backlog. So many pieces of the sublines within the two franchises were delayed, with the purple Kenner homage Club exclusive probably the most notorious. Also NECA are clearly focusing on expanding and diversifying both toys and the brand, presumably taking a lot of focus.

New versions of Wolf, Lost, and Berserker would be definite buys for me.

They could also do some figures from Hunting Grounds. The female with the bow shown in the latest trailer would be a solid start.

They showed the sculpt for an ultimate release of Wolf a couple of years ago but since then he's been MIA, I'm hoping he still happens. I'd definitely also get an ultimate Berserker, next year being Predators' 10th anniversary could help that out. Of course 2020 is also the 30th anniversary of Predator 2 so we could see stuff for that too. Hopefully they don't get too bogged down by the idea of updating the lost tribe, I know that beyond the City Hunter we've yet to see any of them on the new body but stopping to update each and every member could be a drag so maybe the upgrade treatment should be reserved for the more notable members.

I still want the rest of the Predators and Aliens from the Xbox 360/PS3 version of AVP. So far, all we saw was the Serpent Hunter Predator, and while we received some of the Aliens in other waves in theory, we never did receive a praetorian or Number 6.

I wouldn't mind some of the Xenos from the Colonial Marines game either. Especially the blind "zombie" xenos with the tiny T-Rex arms that explode.

I'm on the buy anything Alien or Predator bandwagon. I'm one of the weirdos with every single NECA Alien and Predator ever released. The lack of both lines has saved me a stack of cash in recent years.

100% this list. I would love the protagonists of AVP! mind you i'd also love a sequel to that game. Colonial marines has a bunch of stuff that would be worth doing including the Spitter , Boiler, Raven and Crusher. Colonial Marines isn't so bad if you instal the community patch. Actually makes it worth a playthrough. Fixes a bunch of bugs including the Xeno ai.

I hope they do "Dark" as an ultimate with the ancient mask as an alternate head and maybe Rookie as a single figure with a full marine arsenal. I'd really prefer that game's Predalien over the AVPR version which looks goofy to me.

I seriously need Battle Armor Lost in Ultimate form. The original release's single-jointed elbows barely bend at all.

Yeah, I've nearly every release for both too (only missing SDCC Newt, the OG AvPR line (neither of those I 'need', and the far too scalper-friendly DC packs, fuck that noise).

Like an idiot I'd forgotten about Colonial Marines. You could maybe space the Lost Tribe updates out amongst those. But even I question if I really need them. They're likely to have more QC issues than the originals from years ago!
