Great photos Joe!

Can’t wait to find this King Kong, hopefully they make more monsters. I can’t wait to pair this with the werewolf so I’ll have a George and Ralph stand in

Their first Kong release was awesome, will definitely be picking up this new one too.

Found mine at Target last night! Absolutely worth the purchase! I wonder if we'll get a deluxe Kong with arm restraints and a stage...

I saw this on a couple of YouTube videos yesterday. Target doesn't seem to have this on their website yet. In Canada, I can only order online.
But I will definitely be checking every day.

Set looks tempting, but holding out for a Black and White release... possibly with a Fay Wray. (one can hope)

The set wasn’t supposed to hit stores yet, so probably won’t be online for a bit. They were pretty shocked that it started showing up in stores. So Target first, then around July it should hit all retailers.

That's weird that NECA themselves wouldn't know a product is hitting shelves, I assumed it came from China to their warehouses and they shipped orders from there...My Target just got a huuuuge NECA shipment (Rhino Aliens, BTTF restocks, Halloween 3 figures...) In addition to 4 of these new Kongs so I imagine he'll be showing up at most Targets any day now (I live in Michigan, for reference!)

It’s like most street dated items. Shipped to stores early so they have it for when it’s supposed to go live for a Father’s Day weekend end cap reset. I’ve had the figure for a few weeks now, but my gallery was supposed to be embargoed until mid-June. Once the 1st pics popped up, I got the ok to post this weekend. So had to scramble to get this live.

Ooooh, that makes sense. Also I keep thinking it's still April, my internal clock is way off haha

For once not having the money to pick up the other Kong worked in my favor. I definitely want this one over the old one.

Of course, as usual, everyone's stores are stocking them but mine.

I kept looking and just realized that the "angry face" Kong head is off compared to the box cover. It almost looks like during the molding process they forgot to add the eyebrows.

You seem to be 100% right. You can see the pegs the eyebrows were supposed to plug onto. I wonder if this is just a faulty sample?

That was something I missed. Was rushing to get this posted and didn’t realize the eyebrow sculpts were missing. Updated review to mention it.

I believe you're right. I reviewed the YouTube video and the head sculpt is complete.

Ok, good to know it’s likely due to mine being an early sample.

I hope the added eye brows add something to that sculpt or else it's the worst of the 4 to me. I do like the monsters and articulated sculpt so I'd grab it anyway though.

Easy pass for me since I don’t use the 1933 head,I’m good with the first release.

I thought this was going to be an accessory pack of Skull Island creatures.
Not complaining -just thought that's what it would be when I first saw the Pteranodon and Proto-Skullcrawler.

I hope NECA decides to do something like an accessory pack for Kong some day. I'd like some chains and an Ann Darrow for this version of Kong.
Although maybe those items that came with the Mezco Kong will work on NECA's Kong.
I haven't tried.

My thoughts exactly.
Except I would have said it better.
Believe me.

I hope too, they create a accessory package of the new different heads , hands and creatures and a Ann Darrow model. I bought the 1933 kong version and i would love to have the head with the adjustable jaw.
