Interesting choices, the pterodactyl is a little cheap looking, but I'm not expecting a high price on these either. I'll pick them up.

Well that's kind of neat, but now it's got me wondering if they'll make their own version of a T-rex for Kong to fight.

If I had to guess, that display base looks like a part of the pack. It's clearly painted plastic, and not the type of hand-mad dio item they would normally use.

I really miss toyfair. I can take all these companies dropping product with no context, scale, price or when and where it will be available.

Hmmm, wasn't the original Skullcrawler a bit more 'googily eyed'?

I just checked, it's the rock base that came with the Target exclusive Luke from The Last Jedi. Looks like they touched up the paint a little but that's it.

Ah, that makes sense as well then. They have been known to reuse other companies stuff (I'm looking at you DST Edward Nygma desk).

If they are doing an accessory pack, they really should throw in an Ann Darrow figure for him to hold this time. That was a major ommission with NECA's Kong figure compared to the Kong Mezco released. I went ahead and bought both versions though because I liked the paint details on NECA's Kong and the 1933 inspired alternate headsculpt, but I also liked that Mezco's Kong had the chain shackles on his wrists and an Ann Darrow figure.

The very idea of NECA doing retro style dinosaurs just makes my very soul happy.

Now bear with me... Deluxe. Rhedosaurus.

YES! Ann Darrow, and maybe Jack & Denham, too.

I think, like the Kong figure, they're staying away from actually copyrighted figures.
Or - maybe you're thinking of the dinosaur from the movie "Caveman"?

I could die a happy man if they did "close enough" versions of the spider-pit monsters from the deleted scene in the 1933 film! I also love the idea of them making dinosaurs for Kong to fight with the old inaccurate tail-dragging style, no one makes dinos like that anymore

You might be right about the copyright issue. Actually the '33 Kong was the last film I saw in March of '20 (Fathom Event Screening) before the theaters shut down. It wasn't quite as goofy as the lizard from caveman, but the eyes were bigger.

I know Jackson did the scene, in a bit over the top way. Do we have any idea of what the actual '33 spider scene creatures looked like?

Some of them! Famous Monsters of Filmland printed stills of some of the puppets, and other photos have surfaced in the years since. I think we know what the spider, crab, worm creature and one other look like

To my understanding all of the actual film of the pit scene was destroyed at the studio's request because they found it far too graphic and disturbing, like people became ill at the first screening kind of reactions. The exact contents are pretty much all hear-say but I recall reading that it even involved one guy getting ripped in half by two spider-like creatures and then eaten. There was no blood or gore but the imagery was enough, especially at the time, to be cut from the final movie. So Jackson's interpretation of the scene might not have been that far off from the original mark. Alternatively I've also read that it was cut more for time's sake and to limit the total number of film reels used. Whatever the exact reason behind it, the footage is apparently totally lost to us. Like Black Arbor said though, there are some pictures that have survived to give us an idea of what we might have seen.
