They should just re-release the 70's figures they had the same articulation.

Has there been any "rebels" made with modern articulation?

Not yet.

I hope a couple of the new characters will appear in a future wave of the Black Series, with improvements to bring them up to that standard.

Otherwise, maybe Figuarts will get an opportunity to pick up the slack.

I don't think I've ever seen a Han Solo figure that even has a remote resemblance to Harrison Ford.

Star wars is going back to vintage articulation back in the eighties.

They've put out that Stormtrooper in a couple two packs and solo, so kudos on that. And that Trooper / Tie pack is awesome for troop builders.

I know they aren't black series level, but they are well done simple figures. So long as a collector line is running parallel with that, I'm fine with them existing, and have even picked up a few. It's a lot easier to pull the trigger on a random 5 dollar figure to putz around with when shopping for toilet paper at Target than it is on a 14.99 black series one.

Try 70's ha.

I think the only way we will ever get rebels articulated figures is if they make a new 3 inch line later on that was as articulated as the previous lines.

Kind of how they did the realistic versions of clone wars characters in the legacy collection.

At this point, I'm not counting on the Black Series 3.75" figures continuing into 2015. That line has been dwindling away practically since it was announced, and clearly receives minimal support/effort from Hasbro.

At this point I kinda take "Random Echo Base Woman" (Toryn Farr) as kind of Hasbro's way of saying "Seriously guys, we've been scraping the bottom of the barrel in this format for years." Coupled with a last few EU re-releases to pour some salt in the "EU is no longer valid" side of things and it really looks like "collector-style" 3.75" product is on its' last legs.

I'm not even sure we'll get Black Series style figures for Episode VII, though I wouldn't be surprised if they did at least one or two assortments just so they could say "See Collectors? We made them for you!"

The sad this is that LEGO figures have more articulation than these. Wrist articulation!
