I think the main reason for the price jump is that is apparently also one of NECA's convention items this year, so sayeth the Gamestop listing. A few years ago they did something similar with multiple convention items where you could also find them at TRU for a very limited time and those were notably priced up compared to standard stuff. Ambush Predator was $25 or $30 and the mego Pamela Voorhees with little Jason was like $50 (obviously I forget the exact prices).

But again, I was being particularly nitpicky.

I mean, he rips Georgie's arm off in the opening scene, and the kid is without the arm for the remainder of the movie. So it's likely paying double homage to the film with this. The arm can stand in for the beginning of the film & give you a way to recreate the arm chewing scene.

I wonder if EBGames will get these as many countries don't have Gamestop but instead have EB which is owned by Gamestop. This would also apply to the McFarlane Barb which is also a Gamestop exclusive.

edit: appears Gamestop USA wont ship to Australia (likely doesn't ship to countries with their own store) the Barb figure is up at ebgames.com.au and that is a gamestop exclusive so it's likely that the IT variant will also be available at EB.

1990 Pennywise is now listed for August 13th. I'm really looking forward to it (in case you can't tell).

Did you go in store? I stopped in one today during my travels for work and asked about them. The Pennywise figure can't be preordered in-store because it is going to be an online only item, apparently. Not that I 100% trust the dude that was working there. I have a problem putting faith in people that forget to wear deodorant or remove last night's pizza from their teeth before going into work.

I didn't preorder the Stranger Things stuff, because I probably won't be back in that town until next spring.

Yeah it was in store, but like you, I found it kind of hard to trust the dude that was working at the time, I'll ask the manager next time I see him in there, he's a good guy and would probably know more.

The knife in the hand next to the TV Freddy head? I sure hope it's Michael, maybe with the new movie coming out the license has opened itself to merch again. Of course with it just being a knife it could be for a lot of things.

That's what I was thinking too but apparently my best friend is CONVINCED it's Michael haha (something to do with the griminess of the hand I think?) I'll just hold onto my sliver of hope that they announce a John Carpenter line of figures after Del Toro's

It could NOT be a lot of things it is ONLY Michael. They got it, I know it! I refuse to believe anything else.

Good thing there's so many online preorders because I'd die if I tried to find him physically in stores.

I am going to need all of the balloons like in the pictures. How do you think we will get them? Target exclusive maybe?
They cant post pictures like that, even on the packaging, and then not offer them.

I’ll definitely be getting the Tim Curry version, but I have to say that I’m not impressed with any of the heads. A head with a simple grin or evil smile would have looked great, but he’s either frowning or baring teeth.

That’s a minor gripe. I’m just pleased that NECA are bringing this out.
