Luca's gonna be hard to find. I'm troop-building him on sight.

Well he's the short-packed figure, but I don't see it being hard to find. I don't know what the short-packed figure was for PotA classics series 1 but I've seen all of those in good measure. I've also seen Maurice quite a good deal, I think he was the short-packed of his wave. Regardless Luca is the one I want, though I'll be thrilled with only having one rather than a small army.

If I hadn't picked up the Monsterarts King Kong, I would have picked Luca up to act as my NECA scale Kong. Though, from following their Twitter, it sounds like a lot of people will be doing that.

Luca looks bigger than the SH Kong. He has less pose, but then looks way better in terms of being a realistic gorilla (the SH Kong is kind of stylized). NECA has tweeted two pictures with Luce next to the upcoming '84 Godzilla figure for a better idea of his size.

Series 2 looks fantastic, especially Luca. But the new faces are stupendous.

Hi, ESN, you are right. I see you are a big fan of NECA, I am also. These look incredible. I do wish NECA created some 18 inch figures for this line like how they are handling Pacific Rim. As the Pacific Rim demand is probably through the charts.

I still cannot get the 24 inch head to tail Godzilla, at a decent price.....key word is decent...actually I mean discounted price...lol.

Cannot wait...so many things from NECA, glad Marvel Legends is not being released till after X-Mas.

I fancy myself a NECA fanboy. My local Hastings had the 24" Godzilla for like $50 or so, which isn't bad. I remember NECA said they'd probably do a quarter-scale classic PotA Gorilla soldier. I just really want Luca from this set because it looks great and gorillas are generally cool, the movie being great doesn't hurt either.

NECA is doing some fantastic stuff. The movie was great, I liked the first Planet of the Apes movie too. I hope they do some Interstellar figs as that was a great move too (off topic but just had to say).
Luca will serve as Luca, King Kong, and Gorilla Grod for my DC multiverse figures.

BEing a grown guy, NECA excites me. Not much, I kid you not, excites me material wise, but seeing the Amazing sculpts combined with more than adequate articulation get my mind excited.

I guess the way I feel about NECA, is the same way the ladies see shoes through the window.....it gets the loins firing...lol

Luca looks killer, and using it for a stand in for Kong AND Grod....heck even do some mods for John Carter....will be killer....you know the White Ape.

I am just really excited for all this stuff. I will see if I can afford, as I am all talk now, but so much to get. Joker, Alien Queen, Rambo(Gosh I hope for an 18" Rambo also), Rocky game version, Robocop game version....a couple of 18" Pacific Rim figures....just so much before Christmas.

But at least I want things for Christmas....better to want things than not. Usually when winter comes I am like Scrooge, Bah, humbug...but this year I hope is different.

You don't have NES Robocop yet? That's kind of a not so new figure, unless you mean Robocop vs Terminator then yeah that's in time. I might make myself wait to open Luca til Christmas just because I feel weird not opening something, the dog alien will be there too maybe, I dunno right now. We'll see how strong my will is and if anything else comes out in time that I would like to have.

The apes come in nice, reusable boxes?! Hallelujah!

Now, if they could throw in that nice Statue of Liberty diorama...

I still don't understand NECA's reluctance to offer Taylor in the regular plastic 7" Apes line. I couldn't care less about their MEGO-style figures.

If this sells decently then NECA said they might put him into the regular figures later. Just like if the Snake Plissken mego sells well then we may see a regular 7" figure of him too. As of now they are sticking to just apes for the regular line, but it seems that now they also use megos to test the waters for demand.

Huh. I don't understand that logic at all. Interesting, though. I guess that's why we leave marketing to the marketers.

I don't pretend to understand most toy companies' decisions I just accept them and buy their stuff if I like it, but the mego before regular is kinda weird. What if mego Snake Plissken doesn't sell at appropriate levels and then we never get a really good regular version?!
