Definitely Broken Tusk, and as I've said it would be soooo easy for them to do now that they have made the Kenner predator who took almost all of his body design from Broken Tusk.

That's true. Hopefully they won't paint him in comic colors like that other Dark Horse cover tribute figure, lol. That one is cool but I'd prefer more realistic coloring. Even Bad Blood and that Enforcer could have used more detailed paints.

I think the Dark Horse Predator came out like that since that was based on the cover art specifically. Broken Tusk would more likely be like Bad Blood and Enforcer, that is to say based on the interior art, which is acceptable to me. Any covers with Broken Tusk use very normal colors and then in the panels he's never outlandishly done like even the Bad Blood books were.

Well for what it's worth EE put series 16 up for pre-order and they say the case of 14 is broken down as:
5 Spiked Tail
5 Stalker
4 Ghost
The only one I was concerned with is Spiked Tail so yay for him not being under-packed. I want Stalker but not nearly as much as I've come to want Spiked Tail, which I consider very odd since I hold no love for the original Spiked Tail toy. I guess the way NECA handled the cyber look just appeals to me, I passed up on Battle Armored Lost from series 11 so maybe this is me kinda making up for that. If I had more space and/or less predators than I already do then I'd have just ordered the set of 3. As is though I can't justify getting Ghost, as cool as he looks, because I already have enough of those "filler" looking guys like Renegade (mint and pudding), Cracked Tusk, and Hive Wars.

My hypothesis on Spiked Tail's story (and incidentally Ghost's): Ghost and Spiked Tail are mortal enemies. They had a duel which did not end well for Spike. Upon his victory, Ghost claimed Spike's mandibles as a trophy and as an insult (which is why Ghost has them around his neck, and why Spike has to wear that Vader-like apparatus). Defeated, mutilated (loss of mandibles and right hand), broken (hence the need of the cyber exoskeleton) and left for dead....Spike Tail vows revenge.

That's not a bad write up actually. I never even noticed the mandible around Ghost's neck until you mentioned it, and the fact that he has a similar striped pattern down his legs like Spike Tail. Made an interesting figure to me even more so now. I might use that for my backstory regardless with whatever one NECA gives us. Good eye!

That's how it was, no matter what NECA’s bios say!

Really like that idea, even though I don’t plan on picking up Spiked Tail or Ghost. But maybe I see them for cheap sometime after release.

The most important thing has been taken care of though - my local hobby shop put up the pre-orders for the new Predator toys and I grabbed the Clan Leader. It will take some time before Europe gets him, probably around August/September, but it'll be worth the wait.

Probably my favorite of NECA’s Kenner inspired figures, Leader looks amazing.

Pretty cool, but kinda pointless IMO since he doesn’t come with an extended staff. I don’t really care about posing Preds with the retracted staffs, so these seem like a bit of waste to me personally. Still a cool looking backpack though.

Out of the entire wave Stalker is probably my least favorite. I never cared for translucent or glowing figures; I rather have them fully painted instead. Entirely accurate to the vintage figure though, and as usual a nice touch by NECA to carry the entirety of this old concept over in modern figure form. The metallic paint on his armor is awesome.

As with a lot of the Preds, it's only close up can you truly warm to a figure you might otherwise dismiss.

While Stalker can't actually use those spears since they're retracted it's still nice that they decorate his back like the original figure. I managed to predict they'd give him one of Wolf's whips since the original toy had an Alien's tail wrapped around its left arm and for modern sculpting that would be extremely limiting to articulation. I was also hoping that he'd come with some kind of spear gun since that was the original toy's action gimmick but I understand some things were probably too '90s extreme to be transferred over.

I for one prefer Ghost of all of the upcoming preds.

It looks more in line with the regular series imo.

The clan leader is great (except for the helmet ... too over the top imo)

Spiketail is too much (the extended aperture from the shoulder cannon, the hair-tail-spike, the helmet are too much visually imo)

Stalker looks great (I love the alien head imbedded in the chest armour, but do not like the helmet (too over the top again) and the fact that the flesh has no pigment (I know it is glow in the dark and all, but it looks unfinished to me)... so I will be painting over the flesh to make it more of a realistic pred. Too bad that the helmet isn't removable either, as I would leave that off like for the clan leader)

My 2¢

The NECA website says: "Each Predator comes with character-specific accessories, removable masks, and Stalker glows in the dark just as the original figure did!"

And I'm pretty sure Randy mentioned multiple times that the entire Series 16 will feature a removable mask.

So Stalker will have one too. They just haven’t showed us his unmasked headsculpt yet, maybe they're still working on it or something? Or maybe they didn’t want to show it off on the official pictures because well… it’s just a standard head in the same glow in the dark-plastic.

It's pretty much the point that most of these guys are "over the top" and "too much" seeing as they're modern remakes of Kenner toys from the '90s. The original Spiked Tail honestly looked very little like a predator, Stalker essentially had goat horns under his mask, and Leader was wearing romper stompers while tentacles came out of his shoulders. Ghost on the other hand is not based on one the wackier toys so he does look mostly like a movie pred but without netting. I embrace the crazier over the top figures seeing as I already have enough that are closer to normal like Cracked Tusk and the Renegades so Ghost brings nothing new to my shelves. Obviously this discussion is focused on NECA's Kenner tributes and not their other predators.

Also yeah you can totally see in the new side images for Stalker that his mask is removable.

They did show the unmasked Stalker head some time ago...

I'm actually wondering if that is Stalker's head anymore since now we've gotten a pretty good look at Stalker from the side while wearing his mask and I didn't see any horns. Maybe I'm mistaken or maybe this is really for another figure.

I'm digging that art. I cannot find any pictures of the original "Ghost" though. When they first revealed series 16 I thought he was like Viper, a more toned down original design by NECA that goes with the Kenner homages, but on Twitter back during toy fair Randy said Ghost is based on an old figure. Either I'm not digging deep enough or perhaps the figure was cancelled like four-arm.

Scroll down a little

Aliens vs. Predator (Kenner) - Xenopedia - Wikia

I didn't realise initially that set was Kenner when I saw a photo ages ago... I think I'll approximate the masked pose from the art above with my figure, looks seriously cool.

He's 'Kenner', would be sold at the same time but separately from a traditional sales pack of the other three, and cost a little more. At least that's what I'm seeing here in the UK, if that's what you're getting at.

It'll probably be just like Bad Blood's release. A case of just the one figure (very much like the video game appearance and ultimate figures) which should be a few bucks more than the other "non-deluxe" predators but can be found on shelves coinciding with the wave of three.
