Right. I was too excited by the photos I forgot to read. Never hand me a contract to sign, please. I'm the biggest fish in the ocean...

This said, I hope to the toy gods NECA can find a loophole and sell these shellheads at retail, like they did with the SDCC exclusive Newt figure a few years back.

They didn't need a loophole to sell Newt at retail though. They needed a way for retail to actually support the release, as child figures generally don't sell well. Which is why she was packed with Ripley. They own the rights to essentially do what they want with the Aliens line.

For TMNT that is in 6" to 7" scale, that's all Playmates. There's no loophole to be found. Otherwise the video game figures, comic figures and cartoon figures from past few years would have already been released at retail. And their TMNT license would still be US only at that point.

Nice set but I just don't have it in me to bother with all of the hoopla to get them (I'm in Canada and use a mail forwarding service). After all of the problems with last years set, I am not interested. Last year they shipped the sets in paper thin cardboard, the eyes were all wonky on both sets of Turtles I got, poor paint apps and scary stiff joints.

On top of all that there will never be a Splinter, Casey, April, Shredder or Foot soldier to go with them so I care even less.

Glad it's available to peeps who want them though. Hopefully more collectors get them than scalpers.

My Leo was the only one with wonky painted eye. Rest were perfectly fine. Neca sent me a new head two months later

Yay, a con exclusive or US delivery only! Thanks Neca. It’s just great being a toy collector and Turtles fan in the UK. So glad I can pay 10x the asking price on eBay from some
Scalper and then also pay the extortionate customs charges from having to ship from America.
Or I could just not get them. Ye, I think I’ll do that.

For $31 a figure, I want them to put Donatello's belt in the right place.

It's a hoot to watch it all unfold year after year.

Ugh! Really would love to get this set but it will be too hard to get with it being a SDCC exclusive and only 2,000 pieces. If a set without the diorama comes out later I'll just wait for that.

There is a set without the diorama. It’ll be $125 and a run of 5000 pieces.

lol these comments are a repeat of last year. Why is nobody reading any of the information? They produced much more sets for this year, so you should have a better chance. Also, are you guys actual turtles fans? In 28 years, these TMNT movie figures have only been made twice in this scale. Shitty versions were made by Playmates Toys “Classic Collection” and now quality versions by NECA. If you pass on these, then you’ll probably never own any.
Lastly, why would anyone assume that they’ll “never make a Shredder” ????
They’re already making one! It’s been talked about and announced for months. They’re also making a foot soldier. Take my advice, try and get a set! Sell something you don’t need on ebay, eat in for a week, do something lol Don’t miss your chance!!!

That is one amazing set, but not worth $250 to me. Way out of my price range to begin with.

Yeah so basically there will be 7000 Movie TMNT figures in total available.
2000 for $250 that come with the Diorama and 5000 for just the figures at $125 a set.
(price breakdown; $31.25 per figure and $125 for the Dio).

I'll be on it to get a set of the Movie TMNT figures and a Predator Hawkins. I don't want the diorama, but will buy it anyway if that is all that is left to buy.
The NECA dio is awesome but I started making dio's myself and can make them the exact size I need them to be especially when planning to make some for a Detolf which are rather small.

My thoughts exactly, if the cheaper option is gone, I'll gladly upgrade to the one with the dio, as it's nice enough for be used with other figures I own, and is likely to move slower due to the price tag.

I also have a feeling we will see the eventual downsized versions of the 1/4 scale Shredder and Foot Soldier at NYCC this year in a boxset similar to their Foot comic set released a year or two ago.

The TMNT Convention Exclusives will have a limit of 2 per household for the pre-order. Both sets with and without the Diorama count as the same set for the household limit. "1 of each OR 2 of the same".

Source: https://twitter.com/NECA_TOYS/status...59419228590080

I'm hoping to see any 18" NECA TMNT into 7" down the road.
I'll try to buy them for sure!
The 1990 Movie Shredder with 3 Foot Soldiers would be a great pack.
I really am hoping for a 1990 Movie Splinter, April, Casey and Tatsu as well.
Also for a Mirage Comics Splinter and Casey and
a Fred Wolf Cartoon Splinter, April, Casey, Rocksteady and Bebop.
Many versions of the same characters but hey, they ARE the main cast

Mirage Comics should give up on 6" and 7" and let NECA handle those!
All they did was make crappy toys in those scales. I still am stuck with the stupid 7" cartoon versions because of the KO's and superior NECA and Figuarts versions. I never even opened them because they didn't look right. The 7" scale WWE figures aren't really in scale with anything and look out of place. Give it up Playmates!
