Money is not my issue, never has been. Availability is the issue, toys are a hobby. A hobby can be expensive, but should be relaxing. Hunting for these neca turtles is not relaxing. They are also about half the size of super7 turtles classics. That with the fact my attachment is to the toys and not the toon. Neca should have worked harder with target for a preorder that works. I put up with mattycollector for years, running to stores everyday for 20 years and many other exclusives hunting. Having to buy 1 or 2 sets on eBay would be ok. But this series turned in to an eBay only line with all sets. When someone like me walks, that says something....there are a lot of collectors like me. I live near buffalo and Niagara Falls there are roughly 10 targets in my driving area. I find nothing. I have called targets, they lost interest. The guys that work the electronics section at my closest target said they hope the neca section just goes away. They are sick of dealing with the lack of product and disappointment of customers. They seem to be funko guys themselves, but they soured on neca fast. Every target I check, the neca section is a rats nest. Crap everywhere. I used to clean them up when I visited but I gave up because most of them have nothing on the pegs anyway. Those target ambassadors by me, suck. So yes, super7 is more money, but less stress and more inline with my nostalgia. I like the idea that my super7 turtles will fit on with thundercats and he-man classics. When I was a kid I was in love with the fact That turtles had the same body as motu.

Anyway. I hope neca gets this under control. If they get these on an actual preorder maybe I’ll jump in....but honestly, I’m out of space and they lost their spot.

I also want everyone to know here i in no way wish this line to end. I hope it goes for a long time and those collecting get what they want. I just personally am done. I have also carefully read and thought about all of your posts, please don’t think that I dismiss them, I don’t. I take criticism very well, if someone has a better or easier way, I’m first to jump on and admit I was incorrect. So thank you for all of your thoughts. Good hunting.

Amen. Sometimes it’s just not worth jumping through all of these hoops to get this stuff.

I guess I can understand people hating eBay, but Wave 1 was available there for less than $60 a set (sometimes with free shipping) very quickly.

Wave 2 was a disaster (but I wasn't interested anyway). I don't get the appeal of driving to Target to buy these or hunting toy aisles (but I do understand that is very popular for a lot of people).

NECA and Target should make these easier to preorder (I still get in stock alerts for the Foot Soldier 2-pack and then when I get to the site, it says not available in my area), but if you want them, they aren't that hard to find and aren't that expensive.

I only wanted April and if she looks as bad as she does here, then I guess I'm done with the line. I still can't believe the one character left that I really wanted from NECA and it's the one they blew. And they haven't blown a figure in years. What terrible luck.

I did several target runs over the course of the "quarantine" and saw the turtles and shredder/krang repeatedly. Footsoldiers 2pk and Bebop & Rocksteady once. I've bought 5 bebop/rocksteady sets for local friends & family. It's out there, it just gets soaked up instantly. My local contact at one Target says that customers literally wait and hover over as the Neca guy stocks the shelf. and grab the figures immediately. Not scalpers... most buy one or two sets and leave the rest for others. They move FAST, but they are out there.

Well I think that because they've made such strides to get where we are, it shouldn't be that difficult to create some preorder system. I get part of the exclusivity is getting people to go in stores and buy other stuff, but really its just been a giant pain in the ass for a lot of TMNT collectors.

Tar-get is the real culprit. I'm starting to think I should feel bad for NECA. Tar-get offered them a chance to make the TMNT TV stuff, NECA jumps on the deal, then Targurt ends up writing the rules of distribution.

I can see NECA keeping tight lipped with Tarburp because one day they might just establish enough mainstream power to push their weight around. Demanding things like more online pre-orders.

AND why do you hate Super7 so much EvilKim????? XD Did they burn you with some bad MOTU's or something?

"While these have not yet been released and are not available to pre-order (ignore the “Sold Out” designation)"

It's not the fine print, it's the first line in the article

(Apologies if the initial post didn't have that line)

I remember Bebop and Rock having placeholders too. They never really did anything with them tho. Maybe one tiny quick round of online pre-orders and that was it.

So any idea from past experience of when sales will go live? (as per the article I'd hate to miss out)

From past experiences they won't be available online. The only pack I saw/heard of someone buying online was the Shredder/Krang 2 pack. These should be active so people can preorder, they're not so they're just going to go up as 'in stock' but that might not even happen either, who knows.

I dunno if it’s my childhood exaggeration, but I coulda sworn April had a huge rack and was overly sexy.

I knew people who got Leo and Donnie sets online. I saw bebop and rocksteady go live for a second. Literally. I clicked “add to cart” then check out and it updated my cart as being unavailable. Luckily I’ve seen them at local stores.

She wore deceptively baggy clothes, I thought that too, but rewatching the show recently, she really didn’t. It was more mediocre animation than overt sexiness. The cartoon never gave her cleavage, just the female outline shape that would go From curvy to flat depending on the scene.

Ps... googling “sexy April O’Neil” is not a good idea if the missus is around without SafeSearch on... even with the excuse of “we were talking about it on the toy forum!”

So when might we expect them to go live for "pre-order" given past experience?

I saw them go live 2 days after I bought the sets at Target the first Saturday of their release, and as I said, it was literally 5 seconds, it was a joke. So depending on when in July they ship to stores, expect them to put one or two sets online.

There is no option to sign up for email notifications for when the pre-orders go live. I remember B&R having that option, right?

HOWEVER, there is an option for creating a "registry". So, I started a "REGISTRY" with a random B-day on the Target site with the three items. It put the items in a type of wishlist/cart kinda thing. Maybe they will send updates that way. Worth a try.

I never got updated for target on anything through their site, or it’d be sold out by the time I got there. Seriously, it’s best to refresh whenever you think of it, and set up a Target hunt group. With b & r, I got them for a few friends when I found a box of ‘em.
