NECA does a phenomenal job with their toy properties. Their figures have amazing sculpt and are great collectors items. But what have they not tapped yet that they should? What properties should NECA make next? I have 1 in mind.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

This show is still a huge hit, and NECA could produce a fine product with a 5 figure set of the famous Paddy's Pub Gang. Each figure could come with a happy and crazy angry head

After their job bringing Danny Devitos Penguin to life(That sculpt is amazing), I would love to see them take a crack at Frank Reynolds. He could come with some signature items, like his glasses, A Gun, a Paddy's Mug, and a Paddy's Pub Egg.

Dennis could come with a D.E.N.N.I.S. System card and easel, a video tape, and a paddys mug.

Charlie would be his Rat Stick for doing charlie work, a can of spraypaint with a sock on it, a Kitten with Mittons, and a Paddy's Mug.

Dee would come with a mug, and an Alluminum Monster back brace.

Finally Mac would have a Project Badass videotape, Fight Milk, Paddy's Mug, and a Helmet.

This would be an amazing wave of figures celebrating such an awesome show. What are your favorites? What do you think NECA hasnt tapped yet that they should?

That's an interesting choice. I could see that falling into their Mego style line more than a general 7" release.

For me, the video game line has to break away from just straight repaints at some point. there are games out there that lend themselves to heavy repainting and part reuse that could make it worthwhile to them. Something like Double Dragon, which I have been dying for someone to grab the rights up for. That license is full of sprite reuse throughout the first two arcade games, plus subsequent games (like Double Dragon Advance) added crazy recolors into the mix for some of the enemies.

I'd love to see a few main characters from the Babylon 5 franchise get the NECA 1:12 treatment.

Never heard of that 'Philadelphia' show, though it doesn't look appealing. I'm more of a science-fiction guy, not into sitcoms and campy stuff.

I believe you mean the classic video game line, since technically they do make video game figures based on newer licenses which are new sculpts for release. I remember them saying once that they wanted to do other Nintendo original licenses, but there were complications in getting rights or something along those lines. I know they'd both be repaints (one we kind of will be getting soon) but a Contra two pack is within their possibilities, they'd just need permission to release it.

They have made Conan the Barbarian figures, not as much articulation as their newer stuff but still very strong sculpting likeness. Also, who wants toys for The Breakfast Club? That's gotta be a very miniscule crowd.

It' Always Sunny isn't a sitcom or campy, it's harder to pin it under most regular comedic genres. It goes for weirder sometimes darker material, which can be viewed as messed up. It definitely has a lot of irreverent material which may offend/upset viewers, a lot edgier than most any sitcom. It is rated TV-MA so there is that warning. I would say though that it's more like South Park than The Simpsons, if that makes any sense. I like it a lot though.

Honestly, I just want them to tackle some more John Carpenter movies. How killer would it be to get a Rowdy Roddy Piper from "They Live", or a deluxe set of all the creatures from "The Thing"!? C'mon, NECA, you already showed us you love playing the one-upmanship game with Mcfarlane (Robocop, Terminator, Alien, etc...), So make some Things already! (PS: Pipe dream, but I'd love a Wilford Brimley figure with an axe and old-timey laptop)

Unfortunately they've stated that the market has become slim for The Thing. Most John Carpenter licenses have a dedicated fan-base and are almost all cult-classics in status, but not enough momentum for a toy line anymore. There are a lot of licenses NECA has stated would be neat to do, but are too niche to guarantee sales beyond dedicated fans. Hopefully the Mego style Snake sells well enough to prove to them that normal 7" figures can be made, but doing any more licenses is uncertain at this point.

Y'know, part of me wants to believe that, but when I see them making figures based off Castlevania, Bionic Commando, Princess Bride and the Lone Ranger, it just makes me sad that they wouldn't consider even a one-off figure. They've done it before, and I'd bet anything the market for the Thing toys is WAAAAAYYYYY bigger than some of the other toys they've done *coughcough Iggy Pop coughcough*

Except for the lone ranger most of the licenses you mentioned got their toys before NECA's renaissance (which started building in 2010 when the Predator line started but even then it would be at least a year before that really got momentum). They started off doing a bunch of one-offs and the occasional series (300) but McFarlane was still clinging to top US collectibles company at the time. They had done some really nice lines but most of their stuff was still basically $20 statues with limited licenses to use, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. But as you track the Predator line you see them reinvent themselves in 2011-2012 and become much more of an actual toy company, though if you ask me much of their stuff is still better treated as $20 statues. They're awesome $20 statues but many of their lines have either too stiff/loose joints or just some pose that exists but I can't see myself actually using. Getting back to the point they're actually making lines people want to buy now so I do really want them to store enough cash to risk giving us stuff like The Thing, where it might not sell super well but it is a treat for fans.

Yeah I know, I have the old NECA and Mcfarlane Conan, just want them to make them more articulated that's all. And for the BC it was just a joke, but I would like it if they brought back they Shaw Brothers line. (I hate myself for never getting it back in high school, by the way anybody here has them for sale please PM me thanks.)

I see you point, Mr. Nerd. I know it's a long shot, but hey, that's why this thread is called the "NECA wishlist" thread.

Oh yeah! I haven't made my wishlist yet:
Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China, and maybe Lightning too.
Kenner Aliens, the great thing is they've said they'll get to these eventually. I'm hoping for mantis, gorilla, and bull the most.
Classic video game Godzilla.
Karloff from Pacific Rim.
Broken Tusk from the original AVP comics.
Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea. They already completely shot this toy down, but I was really hoping for one.
A new Ash from Army of Darkness. Like how they're doing the ultimate figures now.
BLU engineer and spy for TF2, plus the medic eventually. I'm real worried about the chances though since Valve is apparently being pretty blocky about any new releases.
And I guess that's about it.

I'd personally like to see NECA finish fleshing out the Friday the 13th line. While the video game inspired stuff has all been great, they have spent far too much time on it, and I would have preferred to see the other various incarnations of Jason be done already.

NECA did a fantastic job with the Freddy line, putting out one well done figure for most of his movies (even the Reboot/Remake figure was amazing.) Where's zombie Jason (part 6) or Roy? While I'm not a Kane Hodder fan, I'm not ignorant enough to deny that fans would jump ALL OVER some new, better articulated and sculpted Hodder Jasons. A Tommy Jarvis figure would be awesome as well, (and I wouldn't care if it would be Corey Feldman or Thom Matthews...it would seriously hit my nerd spot.)

I don't know why Jason hasn't been seen in some time. They just like switched attention to doing him in Mego instead. When asked about the chance of an ultimate Jason like ultimate Freddy they kinda said "which one is the ultimate definitive look?" Which I mean a fan poll could solve technically. Maybe they'll surprise us at ToyFair.

I want to backtrack on my wish for Babylon 5 figures. After long absence, I just watched some of the first season, and I'm struck by how stale and dated it seems. I strongly doubt new merchandise would generate much interest.

That said, if somebody like Eaglemoss decides to make a detailed, small scale reproduction of a StarFury, I'll jump on it.

Honestly, if it were up to me, ( : as i feel it should be : ), Neca would be given free reign to do anything they felt like doing at any given moment just because they're neca. Especially since it seems like all the big companies, that own all the major licenses, are either lacking the ability to appeal to our shelf space, or just straight-up aren't interested in doing anything in a way that appeals to anyone but children.

I mean, I'd put Neca's bluray batman against literally anything either hasbro or mattel's ever produced with the batman license, and I wouldn't even hesitate or have to look at a back catalog to do it. None of us would. That's kind of ridiculous when you consider that we're already paying 20 bucks a figure for what amounts to be a third of neca's craftsmanship...

If I'm only allowed one wish, I want a christopher reeves superman that's eye-level with my bluray batman. If I get a whole list of wishes, I want there to be a Neca clause in every toy license contract on the face of the planet that's provided to them for free : )
