Because black and white is how many of us think of these characters. The colored versions are unlikely to be completely accurate, with no real reference. I know I want the whole group in black and white on my shelf. The really annoying part is that they haven't even said which version they aren't all going to be in. Just that they aren't all going to be both. I hope they all go black and white.

Maybe monsters from the color era won't have B&W counterparts? So if they do the Metaluna Monster it would only be available in color since that's how the movie was... I don't know... but that vague "some will be both some won't" is painful.

Yeah, it's the vagueness that gets me. I have absolutely no problem with them only releasing color versions of characters from color movies. And these are really cool figures, NECA does good work. But colorized figures from B&W movies feel like, well, colorization which is a silly, bad process.

Wow the paint also looks much better on the Wolfman in the open package shot. A slightly darker shade of brown made a world of difference.

Yeah, the darker color and the reduction of the "mustache" effect that the initial images had makes this look much better. I was already going to get this figure, but now I'm really excited for it.
