A few figs are rumored to be announced at the Mattel Panel at SDCC, but here's the initial 2013 sub information, going on sale Friday, 07/13:

Quote:
Toy Fans,

Good news… we’ve nailed down the 2013 subscriptions and they’re better than ever. What are they? You’ll have to wait until July 13 at our fan panel at SDCC to find out! For now, here’s what we can tell you: we have old favorites returning, and they’ll be joined by an all-new line.

We’ve also been listening to your comments and one of the things you requested was just one single open enrollment period so subscriptions will be on sale for three weeks with no extensions. Seriously, no extensions – we’re keeping it super simple! Here are the on-sale dates:

2013 Subscriptions Sale

Starts: July 13, 2012 at 1 p.m. PT
Ends: August 6, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. PT
Extensions: None!

So be here on Friday, July 13 at 1 p.m. PT when we reveal which subscriptions will be available for 2013 — including one that’s never been offered before! You won’t want to miss this, so for an email reminder, click here to register. Or, hang out on Facebook, Twitter and in our Fan Forums and you’ll get reminders there, too.

–Matty

The subscription reportedly will be metered again this year, so without a sufficient number of 2013 subscriptions, the 2013 line subscription may (will?) be cancelled.

I think given everything that's gone on, the cancellation of all retail figures save for the facesaving single Allstar wave, and that this year's figures have finally started to roll out in better quality than retail anyway... I think they're not going to have the trouble they did last year.

No extentions eh. I'll believe it when I see it. And how many people are going to be interested in a Back to the Future line? I can't see it being more popular than the Ghost Busters line. It's not like they are going to roll out a 6 inch compatable Dolorian. More like Marty, Doc, and Biff in every outfit they ever wore. It's going to get old real fast.

Is BTTF going to be the new subscription they mentioned? If so, yikes, can't see that doing very well.

I think it more hangs upon 1) price, and 2) character selection. If they raise the subscriber price much from $15 + shipping, it'll price me out of the market. And if the characters are dumb, then of course no one will want them.

I will say though, so far the sub figures I figured I'd unload, I've decided to keep. Except Starman, still pretty sure he's going.

And maybe a 3rd factor -- 3) how cool is the club exclusive figure.

With the toy hover board they offered with the prop replica and some hints on FB. That's what the word on the street is.

Since we still have 3 6-inch figs and 2 oversized figs from the 2012 subscription that have not yet been announced, I don't expect a whole lot of concrete info regarding the possible subscription line-up/roster for 2013.

Hopefully there will be some news about the remaining figs for the 2012 sub.

This has been the verbiage used in Mattycollector emails whenever a monthly figure is about to be charged to your credit card.

This is poorly phrased & confusing, I agree.

You would need to subscribe to the 2013 separately, starting 07/13.

??????????? all of the 2012 figs have been revealed awhile ago....unless I'm mistaken? It would be great to get an extra 5 figures I wasn't aware of getting via my sub.

In case I'm having a brain fart moment, can someone rattle off the 2012 Figure list for the sub. I know we are getting black mask, poison ivy, starman, mirror master, platinum and Tin, & Rocket Red. We already got Metron, Jay Garrick, & Atrocitus. As far as I know thats all the 2012 Sub consists of.

Well, at the very least you're not having to pay all up front.
I believe it's $30 USD to subscribe, they charge you half then, and half when the first figure starts to ship.

They'll raise the price, but it'll probably be to $20.
As for the rest, the thing most DCUC collectors cited as their reason not to join was the retail line. Now there isn't one, even after they assured us there would be. Now they're assuring us there will be one next year, but this year's retail line underwent three, maybe four changes before it was virtually flat out cancelled.
Those of use who subscribed are now just about the only ones getting new DCUC toys.
Combined with the figures so far being much better quality than we were expecting, then I feel that will inspire a lot more people to sign up. I don't think there's going to be anywhere near trhe drama there was last year about it.
There's also the new fear factor that even if mattel says there will be retail toys, there still might not be.
Fear of not having goes a long way in the toy collecting community. (It drives up Ebay prices on rediculous things like Prime Soundwave and Vehicon to rediculous levels on ebay, when if people would be patient, they'll find them easily enough a few months later)

Ohh and any figures I don't want you will all get 1st shot. After 2 weeks up on Ebay or Amazon.com.. Sell only no Trade and not for any Lantern or Shazam! related so don't even ask Don't expect more then the figure +Shipping

If Starman VIII sells out I'll be impressed

As for the last 2 I have a feeling it will be Larfleeze and Black Costume Supergirl (revealed at NYCC) why Mattel has them ready and will save cost of finding a new ones I have a feeling the figures planned for DCUAS 2012 will be released as CIE.

I wonder if the last four 2012 slots are going to be used on lesser demand characters so that there are still some top names in the queue for the 2013 sub. I hope not.

The most recent Fwoosh Ask Matty acknowledged fan demand for Wally West, Elongated Man, the remaining Metal Men, and the Doom Patrol:
Quote:
Q: Who do you consider to the most fan-demanded character that has not made it into the DCUC format yet?

A: “That is a tough call. Wally West and Elongated Man come to mind. But there is also a lot of demand to finish teams like the Metal Men and Doom Patrol. It depends on who you ask!”
There was also a recent eBay posting of a 6-inch DC John Constantine figure.

I doubt we'll get much verifiable info on the 2013 sub other than confirmation of the 2013 club exclusive. That said, I personally think it will be important for Matty to keep the momentum going and display a few figures for the rest of the 2012 sub to get fans' blood pumping a bit. This is Matty's last chance to build hype before the 2013 sub goes on sale, and if they are metering the sub again they really do need to show us something right out of the gate.

Mine have been $26 each for the 6-inch figs to date, including shipping.

The oversized are supposed to be $30 plus shipping, but the first one was the "free" club exclusive & shipped with the last 6-inch fig (Atrocitus).
