I watched the original with my girlfriend and honestly couldn't tell you what happened in it.

This one looks better though.

Yeah- I saw the original when banged up in the hospital- the drugs did not make a dent in the movie's enjoyability....and like you, it was completely forgetable for me.

I'm actually looking forward to this movie. I know it's not gonna be a masterpiece or anything, but it looks entertaining.

I seriously only want to watch this for the action scenes with Ghost Rider only (much like I only watched the first Hulk for ONLY the actual Hulk scenes).

Otherwise, Nic cage has so far accomplished the same feat of ruining the image of a specific superhero in the minds of the general public in much the same way Ben Afleck, Jennifer Garner and Ryan Reynolds have with their respective movies.

Granted, story and Director factor heavily as well, sometimes even those won't always absolve an actor you just can't take seriously no matter what. Nic Cage is just one of those actors I will never be able to take seriously in whatever role he plays these days.

I will still watch this movie, love all the CGI scenes with Ghost Rider kicking ass and consequently play the hell out of him for weeks in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 until its out of my system (meaning: until Amazing Spiderman and The Avengers hits theaters).

Have not seen the Directors cut, but heard the Directors cut was decent. Still think you're in the minority of people who actually liked Ben as DD though, lol. Until DD is rebooted with a new actor I say this is the George Clooney version of Batman for DD. Lets get the the Christian Bale version of Batman (minus the laryngitis) for DD soon

yeah I didn't care for actor choice for Bullseye or Kingpin so far in Fox's versions of the MU.

It wouldn't be as bad if Bullseye had his legit costume though. Anyways, If this Ghost Rider movie is as insane as Punisher: Warzone then I will enjoy it.

Seriously- WATCH THE DIRECTOR'S CUT!

YOu'll love Aflec as DD after that- all the great Matt Murdock stuff that makes DD so cool was cut by the studio into the theactrical release!
An entire sub plot involving a drug addict set up by crooked cops after passing out in an alley near saw a woman's murder- which was actually commited by the Kingpin's right hand man, which later gets Ben Urich to expose everything and the murderer flips on the Kingpn...which explains why the police were coming for the Kingpin at the movie's end.

It also shows the heart of Matt Murdock- that he decided who to help by listening to their heartbeat for their honesty- fightin for the little guy.
Urich discovering all this, leads to his not outing Matt as DD at the end.

I mean, shit, it's over 20 minutes of story choped from the movie!
Even friends that hated the movie version were shocked at how good the DC full is!
I had to wist by pal's arm to wach it, but he went right out and bought his own copy.
It makes Daredevil probably on par with Spidey 2: better than Spidey 3 and far better than Ghost Rider or Wolverine or X3!

Really, it's mostly Matt stuff, but it also shows daredevil and Electra warming up before hitting the streets- some great stuf with DD swinging his line and club around and a slightly extended fight with Bullseye.

I honestly believe if the Director's Cut was what was released in the movies, we'd have had a sequel -and figures!

This is uncalled for, I enjoyed the Daredevil movie and I'm not sure but I might have only seen the Director's cut just saying . But at worst it would be Val Kilmer Batman but nothing could be as sucktastic as the Clooney Batman

You sir just got my attention. Nice breakdown. WHY THE F*** Would they cut this from the original when this clearly would have made the movie better? I could understand why so much was cut from Watchmen, but what you described for DD is just insane to cut out. I'm still not a fan of Aflec, never will be, but I would like to see a good movie story of DD regardless of who plays him.

No. The theatrical release of DD was uncalled for. Not my fault. I will watch the Director's cut after all the hype I've been hearing though.

I want to see GR for the CGI action scenes as well, but I liked Ben as DD and Ryan as GL.

I think DD and GL sucked more because of the movies' contenet than the actor's performances.
