Decided to work from the outside in. Waiting for the Miliput to set so will need to see how it looks tomorrow and then change it as necessary. Suspect I still won't be happy and will need to start again.

Been thinking though - have some ideas for Kaecilus, Ancient One and Wong, and guess I'll have to do a Strange as well but accessory wise what else is there apart from the Book of the Vishanti?

I am kinda getting annoyed they are not doing a 3.75 for a lot of lines.

I figured Guardians would have been the easiest for them to do.

Star Lord
Drax
Gamora
Rocket
Groot
Nebula
Ronin
Yondu

the only one of those that They didnt make was a Ronin. the rest were made. i feel they really dropped the ball on that

they had an awesome wave for the first avengers with the Chitari, etc.

They did nothing for Ultron except for the very articulation run, which only really added Scartlet

PLus we only got Two Civil war two packs, Cap and Iron man, Panther and Agent 33. Why no War Machine, Spider man, Ant Man, Winter Solider, Widow, Hawkeye, Zemo, Cross bones.

I will never understand why they half ass the 3.75 line. i know the 6 inch sell better. but if they dont give the 3.75 a decent run. it will never sell

I feel that the time for 3.75 inch movie lines for Marvel has ended, really. I mean, most of them consisted of repaints and comic figures that could also work with your MUs. The Marvel movies just don't have enough to create an entire line out of these days, what with newer characters being a bit more far and few between since phase 1, a lot of kids already have these characters in some capacity. It's the collectors that care about having the latest Iron Man armor! I do believe, however, that they should take a note from how Legends is doing things and intergrate movie figures into the comic MU waves. I think that would work nicely.

Also, since we're on the subject of movie lines, am I the only one upset by the lack of a gold movie Mark 1 repaint? I'm pretty sure the Avengers line had a pack of reuses in more classic colors, so why wasn't it there?

That's not an opinion that's just wrong. The Mark 3 is a repaint of the Mark 2, the Mark 4 is the Mark 6 without the triangle arc reactor. Completely different.

I've slowly come to realize that I like comic figures WAY better, but still like a good movie figure. I also agree that it would be a good idea to just sneak a movie figure into the 3.75" legends line (formerly known as MU and MI). I think I am officially Iron Manned out though... give me that Igor armor from that ASSemblers line, add some more articulation, and I'm happy if I never see another Iron Man figure at this point lol.

Well, sorry Mr. Technicality. I guess I don't know my movie armors as well as you apparently do(though post Iron Man 3, my knowledge is infantile because there are so many that I don't care to know).

Either way, most of the armors from 2-6 have pretty similar looks besides the chestplate and colors. They didn't majorly change it up until 7.

I still need to pick up a good majority of the Iron Man 2 line, since I wasn't collecting it back when it came out.

not really because they already tried it a few years ago with xmo and im2 and they didnt sell all that well and thats back when dave vonner was at the helm.the legends collectors will always be more appreciative and enthusiastic of their line than 3:75 marvel collectors will ever be and i mean that in the most sincere way!

Did some Christmas shopping with my mom today and found a Civil War Cap/bike set at Ross or TJ Maxx (hard to remember honestly since they're right next door to each other) for $9. Not to shabby if I do say so myself.

Um, not really, no.

The X-men Origins and Iron Man 2 lines were separate lines based around the movies, and were structured based off of the movie figures(with ball jointed hips and all that). There were just comic figures mixed in there to fill out the line a bit(MU was just starting to really pick up steam, if I remember correctly). This trend ended with the Avengers and Amazing Spider-man lines.

I was talking about having single carded movie figures mixed into the current interation of MU. They're starting to get into that territory with the boxed figures, but they still need to take that leap fully.

Also, your last statement is unnecessary and false. For the sake of peace in the thread, I will not make this into an argument, but just take a look at this thread. We may not have as many people representing us as the 6 inch line does in terms of YouTube and all that, but we're still a pretty big group.

they were part of the hasbro 3.75 universe the fact they had comic figures made them tie in with the main universe line.so to me its pretty much the same thing, but under a different marketing strategy.they over saturated the market with them and people did not want to shell out for their original retail cost.it caused the movie lines to clog, where as the main universe line was selling because the stock was limited.2 cases per store in my area.in some areas 0 cases.
investing to heavily in the movie lines at the beginning cost them, people here back when it was popular suggested something a lot more controlled in terms of movie/comic cross branding.another point being that they could have dropped the gimmicks and saved money, some of those things where as big as the figure and inappropriate.with all these movies on the cards its hard to say how they will approach the 3.75 market in the next year or so.the current release of 3.75 is hit and miss, the main issue being the lack of artic on some characters.that spidey 2 pack is dreadful.
there is no argument and im not trying to be mean,3.75 has got its enthusiasts, many are right here, posting daily.and its those guys who keep the thing going.but legends has been around a life time and plans on sticking around for a few more years.look on the bright side though, things and people like kickstarter,3d technology,v-hacks,and all the great customisers here and on other platforms, will keep this thing going long after hasbro drop it.......................then again,2017 could see hasbro kick me in the nads, and slap me in the face with a horde of brand spanking new 3.75,s!!!!heres to hoping!

You can't say that those were deliberate tie-ins to MU without something from someone inside Hasbro putting it in print. Point is, that is how Hasbro and Mattel should have been doing it all along-core line with movie sublines that work WITH the core line, not against it. Hasbro may have done it on purpose or just had a happy accident, and if it was the latter, you know they will never admit it.

The problem with separate movie lines, speaking as a compleationist, is the lack of need to complete the sub line. It's the same sub line set up toybiz did at the launch of legends. As far as the movie lines being "tie ins" I'd say when MU started repacking XMO figures, and iron man armors they became fair game.

im pretty sure the idea WAS to have the movie lines work with the core line.the movie lines should have been produced at a manageable rate.i really dont believe hasbro tried to sabotage their own sales i just think they miss-calculated the consumers spending response to their products.

only difference being that toybiz sub lines sold, because they were reasonably priced.

The movie lines kind of doomed themselves with all the iron man and Thor and cap and spider mans. I loved the IM2 Line but there were just a TON of iron mans that peg warmed.
I did go Black Friday shopping once years ago at Walmart to get those movie line 8 packs. I missed out on any green mandarins and siffs but did get some great comic based figures.

Iron Man is probably the best character for multiple versions, even more than Batman, making him a mold makers wet dream. So much reuse, so little cost.

Yeah I get it. I just saw a TON of the mark 6 versions, the one with the triangular arc reactor, that really clogged the pegs in my area. I think my favorite armor from that line was the deep dive armor, it kind of reminded me of the Igor armor that we never did get
