Marvel Universe (sort of )custom #112. General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross.

In doing research on Google into additional details I have discovered a major Marvel mistake. Military personnel wear 2 shoulder patches, one for their unit and one for the unit they have been in combat with. They will not always have a combat patch but they will always have a unit patch. I noticed this: In Hulk 1 Ross has a patch on his right shoulder. It looks like an Air Cav patch. In Hulk 2, Ross has no shoulder patches on his dress uniform ( major mistake ), but has a patch on his right shoulder on his BDU uniform in the college fight scene. I cannot get a clear view bt it looks square. The Air Cav patch is not square. I also happened to notice that Colonel Stryker has a patch on his left shoulder in Wolverine, but none on his right. Unit patches go on the left shoulder, therefore combat patches go on the right.

I never collected any 3.75 inch figures before, but late last year I got bit by the bug and through a fair bit of work I put together a little collection that I am pretty happy with. Still missing a few characters ( Black Bolt, Medusa, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Emma Frost, Chameleon, others ) but for the most part I'm happy with things.

Would love to see Hasbro continue to support this scale. Hopefully Toyfair will provide us with some good news.

Here's my current setup. Couldn't seem to find a good way to showcase things. So I Built a display case that doesn't take up a ton of room and still allows everything to be displayed cleanly.

I dig it. And yeah I still want a Spider-Gwen but sadly I'm not holding my breath for new reveals any time soon.

Thanks y'all. It's cool to find a spot where like-minded collectors discuss 3.75 inch stuff. I am so out of touch with what's going on with this scale that it'll be nice to learn more about things.

Welcome to the 3.75 addiction which is perfect for just those same reasons you mentioned, lots of figures in less space plus the bonus of adapting quality vehicles and playsets.

Love it, love how clean it looks on the shelves, what kind of shelving is it?

Edit: just realized the dead HFC minion on the TV looks like he’s beating off... not my intention but made me laugh.

Fantastic! I had mine displayed like that once but I’ve got too many now!

Haha. Well that's kind of a good problem to have, right? I am trying so hard to be good and not add alot more to my collection. It's kind of wild to realize just how many characters there are in the Marvel world once you start collecting their figures.

Thanks. It's a custom shelf I made. Essentially just some pre-cut wood pieces from a Home Depot nailed and glued. I learned alot putting it together as I am certainly no carpenter. It is 4 feet by 2 feet and about 2 inches deep and lightweight. I can provide more info if that would be helpful to folks. But it is exactly what I always wanted for a shelving display. I have been debating putting one together for six inch stuff too.

I have also been thinking about adding a piece of plexiglass in front to make it even more "finished" looking. But I'm not sure exactly the best way to do that yet. If there is anyone knowledgeable about that sort of stuff I'd love to pick their brains on the subject.

Nice work, Derstahlhelm!
Yea the space saving thing is a huuuge plus I think. I have quite a few Marvel Legends but finding a place/way to Display them has proven difficult. I did something a while ago that was nice, but it took up alot of space and just looked kind of messy. With the 3.75 inch figures in my current display I can showcase whole teams cleanly and easily. For larger groups of figures or big teams, I feel like this scale fits that so much better for displaying a lot at once.

That’s grim reaper when he was one of the horsemen of apocalypse, for like 5 minutes... that’s the kind of custom yuo get when reaps sits in the 3$ bin for a year. And DH got turned into an attempt at one of apocalypses “ancient times” looks.

I think once you realise you 'need' a Spider-verse collection and an Iron Man armoury you're done for!
