I am still waiting for the action figure vending machine. With the development of 3D printers, it is only a matter of time until someone figures out how to merge these 2 technologies so you can select exactly the figure you want , insert your credit card and out drops your figure.

I suggested something pretty similar could happen in the future on another forum and I got shot down hard, though I still don’t understand why. Once the tech becomes cost effective, if Hasbro wanted to start their own stores or license out machines, it could be done.

Imagine having an app on your phone where you can pick the character, scale, level of articulation and accessories and have the store print it out for you to pick up. Or have it sent to you.

OR, 3d printers will end up in homes and Hasbro will sell the designs and a license to print for yourself. One at a time, of course.

Even at this point you could break a figure down, scan each piece, print a copy and assemble it. Sure, right now it’s still a bit cost prohibitive due to the cost of the 3D printing materials, but still doable.

Actually, I expect this to pop up in Japan first. They like to stay 6 years ahead of everyone else and they do love their vending machines.

In stead of 3D printing just put actual figures in vending machines. Like a standard vending machine but instead of KitKats and Chips, have figures in package in there. Place one next to every red box, your in buisness.... now block buster and TRU are dead, what’s the next industry we can stuff in a box to minimize human interaction?

That could work but the vending machine in a store to avoid it getting broken into or stolen

In Japan they have vending machine stores, no employees, just machines lining the walls. I am surprised there aren't more of those here by now. That would be a secure location and all of the machines could be toys.

YOU'RE ON, NiteLife!

For responding, i'll take that request for Coldblood-7 aka Eric Savin. Shoot up a pic of the version you'd like and i'll get to it asap.
If you like what i've created, i'll send it to you as a token of 3.75 MU appreciation (as well as appreciation for your continuous one-liners ).
But you could thank Creator for my inspiration to create more.

Yes, but not everyone has that kind of skill. In terms of mass-market sales, unpainted figures raise a big concern.

CCC.
The 6" scale vehicles have too much risk of looking cheap. Have you seen the Ghost Rider motorcycle they're selling. Looks awful.

I love Coldblood. Once upon a time, I was planning on making him with a blue Marauders body, but I ended up using it to make a GI Joe Scrap Iron instead. Unfortunately, I recently suffered a loss in the family, so I haven't felt like doing much customizing. When things settle down here, I hope to get back to Coldblood, but I have a bunch of other customs in different stages of completion that will need to get done first.

You can 3D print animals?

How are species going extinct, then? Too expensive or something?
