Not knowing the actual father/daughter connection at the time a bunch of guys were calling the figure Boobstrike incessantly and he got so upset that another collector asked it to stop because it was bothering him so much (after another Hasbro guy mentioned that it was bothering Dwight). So, take it for what it's worth, but I was there and saw it. Again, I'd hope that's not a factor in his continuing dislike for the scale though. It was a minor event and it's hard for me to imagine he'd still be carrying that around. But...stranger things have happened.

Edit: If I'm remembering right it was the convention where the designer Richie gave us a tutorial on how to take apart the ME figures for customizing. So that would have been around 2008 at the Dallas convention.
That gives me at least two accounts of it(that I could find), so hey, it's still helpful.

It does connect some dots, though. After all, I'm sure many in the Joe fan base are also MU fans, so what better way to get back at them than to kill their line? It also possibly explains why he gets nervous during interviews when asked about the 3.75 stuff, as he's had bad experiences with that crowd.

Or he could just prefer Legends and this is nothing but conjecture. There's reasonable ground for both.

That was Toyguru at Mattel. He killed DCiH to push MotU. Now he does not work there anymore. Dwight is failing to learn the lessons of history.

Nope, it was Toyguru because I was asking him the questions about DCiH that he didn't want to answer.

Game Stop store checker says the 2 packs are now available in-store, unfortunately not in any stores close to me.

I now have 2 Ryu/Widow packs. I went to my store. The manager checked the computer. It said the Spidey/ Mr. Neg was out of stock. He sent them an email about it. He also found a Ryu/Widow pack on the other side of town. Because it was less than 10 miles they would not ship it to him but they would hold it for me. I left there and went to the store in the next block. (Weird because they bought out the competitor so they have 2 stores a block apart.) That store had one on the peg so I got it and then went over and got the other. The manager concluded that the sku got mixed up and nobody at Gamestop bothered to fix it. An altogether unsatisfying experience.

Widow figure is good. I really like the backdrop from the box, very SHIELD looking.

Only saw the Ryu/Black Widow pack at my Gamestop... would have got it, but Ryu's facepaint was pretty bad... the eyes were way too close together... hopefully there are ones out there with nice paint apps. No Mr. Negative packs in sight though... I wonder if those are coming out later or they just sold out everywhere super fast.

Some how Game Stop messed up the SKU numbers, so only the Widow packs are currently available. Few different people had their stores call other stores that have the Mr Negative pack instock, but it turns out its only the Widow pack.

The computer says it is the Mr. Neg pack but it is not. The problem is somewhere at the beginning of the process, and most likely still not identified or resolved. A conspiracy theorist might say this is all Dwight's doing............
