Sadly with this change Ebay just increased shipping costs for everyone by about 10% since ebay takes a cut and then paypal gets a cut as well.

They claimed it was an attempt to stop people putting in excessive shipping fees but they were really just after more money, all they had to do to stop the excessive fees is investigate them a bit.

I really hate what ebay has become, I just wish something else could compete

I remember back in the day buying items for $1 and with $50 shipping where the seller outright said he was trying to avoid the fees. If the price is fair I never cared but those sellers would still get negative feedback from users saying their shipping was too high. I always laughed at that because who expects to pay $1 for something everyone else charges $50 for? I think so many people did it that ebay just said screw it.

I also remember it being easy to talk directly to buyers and negotiate the price thus avoiding having to do the sale through ebay at all if they were willing. Of course too many scammers out there ruined that system.

ebay mostly just wants to be a store now like Amazon. I think one day they will get rid of auctions and multiple listings for the same product. At least for new merchandise. ebay takes too large of a cut for what they offer but for items with a very small market they have the largest audience.

Steve Rogers is taller, almost Doc Sampson size.

I am down right surprised that Nick Fury is still available!

Got this this morning from eBay.

Provisions regarding Global Shipping Program. We added provisions describing the Global Shipping Program, through which we may make your domestic U.S. listings available to international buyers. For items that are located in the United States and that you sell through the Global Shipping Program, you will simply ship the sold item to a parcel processing facility located in the United States, where a third party global technology and shipping provider will oversee the processing, customs clearance, and international shipment of the item to the buyer. Buyers will pre-pay all applicable shipping and import charges during checkout and will benefit from international tracking of the item from the parcel processing facility through delivery.

Unless you have previously opted into the Global Shipping Program or are a new user, we may make your eligible new and existing listings available to international buyers through the Global Shipping Program only after you have indicated a desire to take advantage of this program in the form of an electronic click-through acceptance of the User Agreement or otherwise. Your participation in the Global Shipping Program will be subject to additional terms and conditions, including an agreement with that provider for the provision of its services to you.

See Frequently Asked Questions for more information about this User Agreement update as it applies to the Global Shipping Program.

See, ebay just desperately wants to be Amazon.

All this talk about amazon and ebay makes me think about what would happen if Craigslist evolves into a competitor.

Typical craigslist reply,

"I'm very interest in your item. Give me your address and I send you cashiers check so you can mail to me in [random foreign country]."

I'm actually glad they announced a new wave recently I just returned my 2 pack of spidey and rhino, opting more for a single release which will look great with mysterio and the rest of the spidey villains.

I'm encouraged that found the WCA and Inhumans 3 packs in a Target. Maybe they will actually put Professor X, Blastaar, Angel, Nova, Hercules, and Nighthawk on the pegs in Philly soon.

As a buyer, I just skip the Global Shipping Program sellers when I see them. The fee calculations are way out of wack. I've even seen customs fees on items that are under duty value. Not only that, but they restrict the type of shipping available. Customs fees are a total crap-shoot, all eBay has done is guarantee buyers lose.

I agree eBay's flexibility gave it an edge over everyone else, but now it's tightening too much. As a wise woman once said; "The more you tighten your grip, the more buyers will slip through your fingers." Something like that...

Yeah, customs fees can be really annoying. I recently got way overcharged on the import fees for my new computer but they won't let me appeal it even though I know they charged it wrong.

the new stuff hit once per wave in middle TN, then we got case after case of the constrictor, Dark Hawkeye, IM2020 wave I hunted for a constrictor forever... now he's peg warming. fickled ass hobbie! things go from rare to everywere! But this makes me wonder if by the time were tripping over one another to find an Abomonation, will the pegs be choked with Nova and Blastarr? plus the rarity of professor X should speak to Hasbro on the importance of the collector market, I doubt children are are thrilled to get the old bald guy in a fancy wheel chair wearing armani!...but we sure as hell are.
