So it said not shipped, but you got it, meaning they just didn't up date the shipping information? I know HTS ships out from the midwest.

Yup. Still says not shipped. I mean the site said estimated delivery would be 7/25 but it didn't update so I got worried a bit. It showed up at my door in the afternoon in a box that was way too big for it

Hasbro with next-day delivery? I would have been skeptical of that.

Scored these at the Target in Pflugerville this morning. I checked out several other Targets in Austin before hitting this one, but didn't find anything. Thanks to Soundwavempl for the heads up that these have started hitting Target.

What's the difference with the repainted Silver Surfer? The back of the card should have the new figures listed on it right? And not like the first MU Spiderman n stuff?

So I called them today, and what it was is because the order dollar amount being so high there was a hold on the account, since I confirmed over the phone they'll ship it now. For people with a hotmail account you may want to contact them because they did send an email out but for some reason the hotmail cookies don't allow HTS emails to come through, they won't cancel your order though but will call you. Glad to have that taken care of that, can't wait to get Metroplex and the MU/ML stuff

Now that most of these orders are being shipped I expect to maybe see all the failed orders pop up and show up on hts maybe today.

Ooh really that's not what this lady said but I'm glad I called then, even without getting an email.

I wonder if it's just the hotmail orders they won't cancel then? Seems weird to do it that way though. And my order still hasn't shipped. It's making me nervous! lol

Nah I'm sure it's who ever doesn't respond to them, I probably responded promptly is why, but I hope he gets shipped out today though. I should have confirmed the Predaking reissue as well though:P But he's not slated to go out until August sometime.

Here's the Silver Surfer comparison. Old is on the left and new on the right. It's kind of hard to describe the difference as they are very similar, but it looks like the old one looks a little more silvery and the new one looks a little more grey. It's also difficult to tell by looking at the pictures, but in person you can see the difference.

Anyone else feel like the re-release of what seems to be all rare, hard to find figures with a high aftermarket price in new packaging is designed to undermined the collector market? if they would retire more figures it would ultimately lead to a far more collectable line (I site Lego, and, begrudgingly Barbie as examples of highly collectable lines that release limited quantities then SUBSTANTIALY change the product. it just feels like the FU's just keep a coming. I realize there just covering there asses from there poor distribution during the initial release, but c'mon some people have paid Ebay prices for figs that are about to be put back out some as recent as Nova! and don't tell me that splen-freekin-diferous comic shot makes it a variant, and where the hell did that craptacular idea come from!?! Hasbro executives, please dive into a pool, swim to the bottom, and breath deep! you are literally sucking more by the day.

Why would it bother you that figures are re-released? I though the object of collecting was simply to aquire all of the pieces, not ponder the potential 'value'?
I just dropped near 200$ to finally have Vision because I was tired of waiting for him to be re-released (the lack of inclusion in the AWC box was the last straw for me). I wouldn't bat an eye if he showed up tomorrow in case assortments though. I dunno. It seems an odd way to look at it. Once these things enter my home, they've no 'value'. They're just another figure in the collection. ![]() |

I mean no offense in saying this, but are you serious? Making figures that people want to buy is the name of the game. Collecting toy lines like this shouldn't be seen as a way to make money or like investing in stocks because that it likely to be a very bad idea. Collecting because you like the stuff is better for your health. Nearly every product we buy will never resell for what we paid. Who knows if people will still be paying for these items in 10 years. Maybe super cheap figures with awesome articulation will be made in the future through some new technology and people will forget about all the old stuff. If anyone paid an inflated price for a figure they have only themselves to blame and the others that paid it. Online stores and ebay sellers make up these secondary market prices for figures before they ever ship. When they make assumptions that Professor X or Nova will be worth a lot and start selling high preorders they CREATE artificially inflated prices before the product ever hits retail stores. This leads to people buying them up to resell at said high prices, etc. A more naturally high priced figure is Vision that was easy to get when he first came out but didn't ship much and demand grew. Now it's gotten so crazy people just want Vision because of his high price tag instead of for the figure itself (which is kinda lame). I've only paid more $25 for a couple of figure that I just had to have but for the most part waiting for a deal or reissue pays off. I don't see them releasing many hard to find figures. Which ones are you talking about specifically? Stuff in this new wave like Surfer, Iron Fist, and Iron Spider were never hard to get. A figure like Nova has barely even been shipping for a few months so they absolutely should be making more of him for the stores. If they want to put new packaging on them then so be it. I don't think Hasbro should care much about what people paid on the secondary market because that isn't money going to them and they say kids are the ones that buy the bulk of these lines anyway. That said I think they do care a little or else they would put out more Visions or other high priced figures. I wish they would release actual rare figures like X-Force AA or Vision. I think the exclusives are what is really aimed at collectors. Quote:
