in wolverines first appearance he could not even cut hulk with those claws.also i remember vector of the U-foes reducing hulk to a skeleton in one comic,yet in an earlier comic vector tried the same attack on savage hulk and it had no effect on him.

Dinofreak, seriously sick pics of the Fantastic Four! Went on a mini hunt tonight! First tried TRU, nothing! Then, on the way back to the house, I decided to stop at Marshall's. Bingo! Found the MU Sentinel (Variant)! Just opened this bad boy, tonight! He is sweet and detailed and heavier than I thought it would be! Happy hunting, Arkers!

Wolverine has also gone through some ridiculous status quo changes since his first appearance. In his first appearance Len Wein (co-creator) actually intended for his claws to only be part of the gloves he wore in that issue. It wasn't until Chris Clairmont wrote him that it got overruled because he thought natural claws made him irreplaceable.

Haha, yup that was it. I also remember that the only reason Wolverine was created was because the creator found out Marvel was selling more and more books in Canada and decided they should create a Canadian superhero. Lmao, he was almost called The Badger.

Hello, Arkers! So, was feeling lucky today, after finding a MU classic colored Sentinel yesterday night at Marshalls'. So, I set my sights on looking for the dark colored Galactus! Went to TJ Maxx, nothing, also checked Marshalls' and got the same results! Then, decided to try the other side of town to find the Planet devourer! That TJ Maxx had nothing, but the Marshalls' had a MU classic colored Sentinel! Wow!!! I grabbed it, being that Hasbro distribution of the new wave sucks in these neck of the woods, and the price was right (24.99). Can anyone say, "Army Building!" Happy hunting lady and gents! And, still looking for the witch!

Not just that- they had actually shown the BIONICS that made the claws retract and extend- they they made the lameass decision to make them made from his bones....SO stupid! Ever break a bone? Now imagine your awesome mutant ability- something supposed to help you survive- is to have your freaking bones stick out and use them to defend yourself...man, Claremont is a nice guy to talk to but he really chruned out some bad ideas there in the 90's.


Still, Wolverine's retcon is nothing compared to Sabertooth's- He never had any healing factor untill X-Men 212 made him a anti-Wolverine baddie.
He used to get owned by Iron Fist and even the Black Cat before the retcon- hell, Spidey webbed Sabertooth's face and Sabes ripped the webbing off...putting him into a COMA FOR MONTHS with stitches all through his face lke Jigsaw...and yet, Marvel has mde a million retcon strories set decades before that Spidey fight where sabes has the healing factor and nothing shy of Gladiator can take him down...

It's the sliding scale of contunity- and the fact that Marvel's editors sometimes dont know shit about the backgrounds of characters they're supposed to manage...or worse, they're useing a horribly outdated Marvel Universe entry as the basis for writing/editing a book! Years of great character development can be undone in a blink as a new creative team comes onto a book and just discards or (as with Mat Fracton) never reads the issues RIGHT BEFORE their run! GRRRRR!
Great supporting cast and serious character growth can be tossed with no explanation whatsoever, screwing over fans...and to bring this into the MU topic, you can see all the changes just by collecting the MU Wolverine figures! First appearance through Astonishing really shows progression and regression (90's Jim Lee monstrosity) and the progression again!

Same holds for buying Venom action figures- you can get ones that look like his first appearances or ones that look like Hulk in a Venom halloween costume, and both would correctly depict the character from different times.

i always figured 3 was the perfect number for sentinel's seeing as they used to go around in groups of 3,dont know if that has changed.
