I remember a story where skrulls explained that all their inpersonations of Pym failed because they couldn't handle his heroic persona, so they all got crazy and failed, or something like that.
This was well before the Skrulls were impersonating Pym. Hank Pym is fairly short tempered and hardly manages the stress of being a scientist and a super hero, leading to mood swings and bursts of violence (also sometimes just being a dick). He became Yellowjacket partly to escape his predicament, but only complicated his situation at home. Stress, mod swings, and violence leads to domestic violence.

While he isn't always like this, usually he is fairly heroic and helpful, he does has his dark moments.

wile I don't condone domestic violence, you have to consider the fact that Janet is herself a super hero, and therefore a bit more durable than the average housewife. Tons of guys (good and bad) have hit black widow, Storm, Jean Grey, and every other female hero in the marvel universe and no one's throwing a fit. If she cant handle a little back hand from her crazy mad scientist husband maybe she's in the wrong profession.

as far as storing figures in a shed, I think your big problem will come from humidity not heat. If your willing to invest some time and money, you should seal and insulate the shed, and put in a dehumidifier. the humidity over time can cause the glue on your bubbles to disintegrate into a powder. but remember most of these figures. once packaged never see an air-conditioned space until they get to the store, the shipping crates get mighty hot and don't effect them, but again there sealed well against humidity.

I dunno, in terms of domestic violence it's not so much about the ability to take a hit and more about the act of hurting someone one supposedly cares about.

that is EXACTLY what the judge told me too Noodle! We are sympatico!!!

Just got some older figures that fill in gaps in the collection today. I never had a Namor and I like him! First time ever actually seeing one. Also finally got Silver Samurai too.... what a big hunk of bad ass he is! Well impressed.. best score though, Wonder Man!
There were 9 in total Elektra, Leader, Adam Warlock, Red Guardian,Nova and Secret Wars Magneto for a Gravitron custom.

And in that particular scene, Janet wasn't exactly in fight mode, either.

IMHO, Pym has deep-seeded psychological issues that were brought to the surface due to his Avengers personae and his work as a scientist. I think that was part of the reason for what happened to Ultron, too. In a lot of ways, he's very similar to Victor Von Doom. Well, at least to me.

Then again, I'm pretty sure Doom never struck his wife/lover out of anger.

Does the spousal abuse issue damage the future film's potential? Some media outlets love to hate the super hero genre, and I'm sure as rain, this issue will see air time. Do they dare make mention of Hank's temper in the movie? Or does Disney start from scratch on the characters and make him a 'great' guy, in a story filled with hugs and happy feelings?

The movie is using Scott Lang as Ant-Man, Pym will be older and provides Lang with the suit, Pym won't suit up himself. And supposedly the villain will be Darren Cross as Yellowjacket instead of pink hulk.

So, well we get a flashback scene in the form of a Spartacus scene of a Janet beat down?

Thanks for that, I once read a spoiler-a-thon online about the entire Avengers/ spin-offs and have been working hard with the help of Smithwicks to kill those brain cells lol. I'm excited for this movie and hopefully some of the figures sprinkled into a few of the waves around its release. That and a Dormammu from the Dr. Strange movie.

If Dormammu isn't the main villain of the Dr Strange movie, then that'll be disappointing. He should be, and so far no one has said otherwise. Hopefully we'll know who's being cast as Strange soon rumors place Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch as the lead picks.

Back on topic: my local TRU restocked the last MU wave, so, eh.

Isn't that no longer the case? I heard they dropped that story when they lost the director.

No, just the most recent waves at any time

So far as I've heard the script and overall movie is unaffected, Paul Rudd is still Scott Lang, Michael Douglas is still Hank Pym, etc. Just that Edgar Wright left for his own reasons, now I'm just a fan so I can't say for 100% sure, but that's the look of it for now. None of us will know absolutely until the movie is in theaters.

I'm sure it won't, since it's only a short episode of a long story.

Sometimes running for 60+ years, comics touched a huge amount of controversial themas, without them surfacing even once on the movies.
Hank Pym beat his wife, but he's not the only one who had controversial issues.
As far as I remember, Cap have been a little bit racist toward "japs", Bruce Banner have almost been raped by stereotyped gay people, Wanda and Pietro were incest twins, etc... but they won't show that in the movies either.

I always complain when I watch a Comic movie because they don't respect totally the original frame, so if they can make Sandman a good father and Robin a hot-blooded cop, I'm sure they can forget the domestic violence episode

Only if she breaks Latverian law, in Latveria.

I'm just talking about him simply hitting her because she's nearby when he's mad. Doom's not that petty, nor does he lose his composure that easily.

Look at me, I'm starting to sound like Doomtron.

*ahem*

Steering this boat back on topic, I still haven't seen hide nor hair of MI around me. Either MI aren't being stocked at all (Walmart) or the stores are still sitting on too much MU (Target). I'm almost to the point where I might just stop collecting Marvel in this scale at the re-branding point.

I ran into the woman who stocks products for Hasbro yesterday at Wal-Mart, She hadn't even seen MI yet. She said Hasbro was pulling back on the "adult collector lines" in Wal-Mart, in favor of filling shelf space with summer movie merchandise. and that this move was at the request of the product managers at Wal-Mart. I don't know how this move will affect other retailers, But with the competition from Wal-Mart in this arena gone, either no one else will bother to carry MI, or everyone will exploit the opportunity. By the way, she was an ubber toy geek, I told her to check out Toy-Ark, so hopefully she'll sign up. She had a lot of interesting info, for instance the last wave of SW 3.75" black series figures were recalled for having Bad glue on the bubbles, she showed me one she pulled, the bubble was just falling off the card! and Hasbro is going to redesign the new legends packaging to make it more secure, because of so many theft complaints.

and Doom looses his temper constantly! RICHARDS!!!!!

a lot of people are done with it...with the weak displayable card art and the cheaper soft plastic. I dont really mind as I could never find them anyway here.

Major blow that Wal-Mart is looking like they wont carry the line. I would guess that was more that half of the orders for the line. I think, as others have hinted...( and this is just opinion and in way fact or even speculation, just my thoughts) that the line will go etailer only either after wave 5 OR with wave 5. I think the days of looking for them are close to an end.

I actually don't find the plastic to be softer than any of the previous releases. Only thing I know is that the line is more difficult to find than the last waves of MU which is saying a lot. I don't mind buying cases but if retailers are no longer picking up the line, then screw packing the cases with Iron Men and just make 4 new figures per wave and pack em 3 per case.
