I wish I could get some Con love....but alas, HTS won't ship to England.
If anyone can help me out with a STARFOX.... I would pay, trade or pay and trade whatever.... he is the LAST Avenger on the list for us. Something like MU Blade (loose) and $10 for him? Hit me with an offer if you got one and don't really need him please. Cheers!

yeah im not going for the exclusives this year. Just too much money. I was happy when the MOE set was 40. The IG set should have been 50-60 for it to be a good price for me. not 90 after shipping for me.

Compared to previous years this set is the least successful. Still available after more than 2 hours.

I did see that after people were watching the HTS site for a week straight and the only things offered were the Easy Bake refills and school size scrabble sets.... I find it funny to see that as soon as the SDCC stuff came up sale, the Easy Bake refills sold out. What a world.

I do have to say this, for the people that are in the states and are die hard 3.75 collectors, I don't think there should be any complaints in not getting the Infinity Gauntlet mini pack since it's still up...unless you work nights or couldn't get online at all...

I picked up 2 sets thinking an extra could help me trade/sale wise later. Doesn't look like that's gonna help. I cannot believe they are still up. I wanted to get the legends set as well but that went fast. I'm pretty sure hts had spend over $50 and you get free shipping until they posted all the new exclusives. Shame.

HTS never allows for free shipping on anything in the "Exclusive" category. Has been this way for years.
I got one of the Gauntlet sets, but if I don't like it I will just sell it. I really only cared about the Gauntlet itself and Mistress Death. If I have to I will sell off Nebula and Starfox and Thanos. |

I'm quite glad that Hasbro very rarely makes the SDCC exclusives toys that I really want. To me the SDCC exclusives from any company should just be repaints of existing/upcoming figures, not totally new never before seen (unlikely to see again). Because it becomes more hassle and price than it's usually worth to get these exclusives after the con. To me one of the coolest exclusives this year was the NECA Pacific Rim end credit set, no new toys, but very cool and unique paint apps for existing figures. If you already have those figures you're not missing out entirely since it's just a repaint, whereas with Hasbro if you're an Avengers collector and want every Avenger you're forced to get this year's pack. That's not the way it should be, to me at least.

i also ordered a second gauntlet to be a helper but maybe this was stupid. i passed on the other stuff like the 160 dollar dinobots etc. too much, especially with the platinum dinos that bbts is doing.
i think every exhibitor took the ebay out of things this year. figure if you are at the show and had to pay tax etc... that 75 dollar gauntlet became a 90 dollar gauntlet easy... none of them are ebaying at more than 110. Like ... hasbro was tired of seeing people flipping stuff and took all the possible "profits" for themselves. (yes i know hat the costs of short run stuff combined with defraying booth costs are huge factors here but its fun to think about a multinational corporation getting back at the flea market dealers) |

while I agree with my mate En Sabah about exclusives being more readily available or figures that are not exclusive, I do have a RARE maria Hill and she makes me happy that she is so rare.
We collect for fun not profit, but SOMEDAY they will go to my son for him to keep but most likely sell. As that is what a lot of us did when we were late teens or early adults if we were lucky enough to still have a decent collection by then at all. Point is, I want him to have some rare and valuable figures 15 years from now and maybe get some serious cash for his sets, teams, custom vehicles, playsets and armies. I hope he never sells them, but who knows. Yeah, it would be nice to have single carded figures of some of these. Maybe they could re-release Starfox (as he seemingly is the most wanted ) with a slight different paint app to keep the SDCC one exclusive. Like they did with ZEMO a few years back. I understand why some people love exclusives though...they ARE nice, IF you have one.

So my new growing concern is that the package for the Gauntlet will be destroyed and I would like to keep this with all my other exclusives MOC. I have seen HTS send out multiple things folded up to fit in their shipping box.

Not to say that I welcome all errors as unique, if a figures eyes were accidentally painted out of place that would kill it for me, or if there was a particularly nasty paint blur from color to color that would be off putting.

ok quick math comparison:
ML SDCC set: 5ea figures, with average retail of 20$ each = 100$ set price 100$. price conclusion? sound. MU SDCC set: 4ea figures, with average retail of 10$ each + foam play glove with average comparable retail (Hulk hands) of 16$ each = 56$ set price 76$ price conclusion? gouging. another attempt to discredit 3.75" collectors by essentially putting out a product that is so over priced no one will jump on it, and boost the numbers for the 6" set? also our offering includes one straight up repaint, (Thanos), one brick, (Death), a foam glove that has nothing to do with the 3.75" line!, and two fairly obscure characters, one of witch (star fox) is a quick silver repaint. ML on the other hand gets probably the coolest packaging yet in the series, 5 unique sculpts, and one figure ( blastar) that is bigger than the last for BAFs they put out. I feel we got the stink end of this poo stick. |

Yeah this set was pretty terrible, but I think with GOTG doing so well (and Thanos/Nebula being featured) it's bound to sell out soon. I hope action figure politics don't affect 3.75 figures for too much longer, because the scale will never truly go away. Eventually 6 inch figures are going to be 29.99 a piece at Target and that will force the scale down to keep figures affordable for casuals and kids again. Bottom line is between Hasbro and Toybiz, there are collections of Marvel characters who are more or less compatible dating back to 2001 for 6 inch and 2008 for 3.75 inch (or 2006 if you count SHS) and they save money by reusing molds. This is just a bad time. Next year I think they should do Mystique's Brotherhood
Mystique (rerelease) Destiny Pyro Avalanche Blob (XMOW repack) Mystique is something of an A lister I think, especially since DOFP, and she was a fan's choice the first time around. Kind of an unremarkable set but par for the course with MU SDCC exclusives. The packaging would be single carded for MOC collecters, inside of an MRD van (like the taco truck). I would pay $92 for that. Last edited by jmurray90720; 08-04-2014 at 05:57 PM.. |

Mystique is more of a B-lister, and that's still thanks to the movies. Way less people watch the X-men movies than Marvel studios' movies, so what fame boost that gives the character will keep her short of say Loki, who got the boost from Avengers (not as many people saw the first Thor).
