I would say though that the big 5 have always been known to a degree to the general public. Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and Wolverine are the big five, and are in one way or another constantly a large part of Marvel's dealings. So I suppose having known that since I was a kid I always thought that people knew about the Avengers, even if they didn't know that was the team name. Hell, the big 5 get more toys than any other characters, even in the character spanning MU line you can point out the big 5 by who has the most toys.
From what I saw the public generally knew Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine (or the X-Men I general), and The Fantastic Four. Knew them in the sense that origin stories weren't really needed and far more people knew what you were talking about if you said Reed Richards, Peter Parker, etc.etc Cap people were aware because of the symbolism but I'm sure few knew anything other than him hitting Hitler or a vague concept of a team he led. Poor Iron Man was basically c-list to the masses.

I love what Marvel has managed to do and how they've believed in these characters but 10 years ago comic fans thought an Avengers movie was impossible and they weren't marketable. There is a reason Marvel still had the rights and that is because X-Men, FF, Spider-Man, etc were viewed as bigger draws. Marvel basically willed all this into being by making quality movies and making a good number of them.

I actually really like the Solomon Grundy Figure that I used for the base. The Knees are double jointed and they have swivel. Best articulation I have seen for legs, hands down.

The Walls are connected simply with hot glue. The trick I have learned is to connect them, and then come through with the Hot-Wire foam cutter to shape them together. That's how I am getting away with the somewhat "seamless" look.

That's like asking regular milk why it isn't always chocolate milk (because it needs chocolate syrup or powder or whatever), and then the regular milk says that it is always chocolate milk. Okay we've talked about the movies and people not knowing who the Avengers were some time ago, let's get back to toys.
I took it as turning into the hulk isn't something he like doing so he only turns when he needs to.

I like the avengers assemble Fury for the new look. For classic Nick there is only the mail away, but that one is worth the price on accessories alone. Last time I looked you could still get him for like 15$-20$ on Ebay.

You can get both, since there is Nick Fury jr in the comics, who is basically just Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury, but ya know, in the comics too.

that's the Avengers assemble one. he's my favorite. Movie Nicks, you have the IM2 drone pack exclusive from TRU, the Avengers movie one. cartoon Nick, just the AA fig, and for old white guy, the mail off figure. easy custom if you want Nick Jr, get the Steve Rodgers director figure, pop the head, replace with movie nick, bam your done (maybe some slight skin tone corrections on the neck and fingers).

The assemble one looks heavy in videos while mail away one looks like thinner legs

Yes, and he came w/ Thanos, and a clip on Infinity gauntlet for him (same as the one the MDC Doom came with). I took that, and resculpted it to actually be a replacement hand, and thought the non clear one is pictured in black it'll now be cast in gold.
Non clear:
Infinite Glove
Clear/ empowered:
Infinite Glove "powered up"

Now for the shipping status of the orders from Sunday, and Monday. Most of the orders for Sunday, and Monday just went out a little while ago when my shipping clerk stopped by. I had some parts in for about 4, or 5 other orders, and the very last parts are in right now. So I'll have him send out those orders tomorrow when he stops by, and I'll start sorting the orders for Tuesday through Thursday by color, and plastic type after I pull out the parts that are in now, and sort them in the morning for him to get them shipped out. Once the Tuesday through Thursday orders are sorted by type I'll print that, and the invoices out, and get to work on them.

What I did was use an AA Nick, head swap for Sam Jack Nick, then painted the body black over the blue. Left the white boots and straps white so he matched Maria Hill, much easier than painting the black one white. Both can be found from the Chinese sellers for under a tenner for the pair. Also, the all black movie body that is left over makes a GREAT replacement for Blade, or just order a vampire hunter kit from vort and put them on that buck. MUCH better than the generation 1 body.Never cared for the IM2 one because of the soft goods coat, I like mine plastic. Use the extra AA head on Steve Rogers body for the NOW look and use the Steve Rogers on one of a dozen different bodies for an unmasked look. It is a win win win win situation.

Yeah, great figure still, and the best Thanos so far with it. I read Thanos: The Infinity Revelation today, which was great if you're a Jim Starlin cosmic fan, and now again I say I want to see a current costume Adam Warlock/Magus. The Infinity Gauntlet costume from the comic pack is great and still fits with the GotG figures well, but a Magus on that buck would be nice.

So my Mistress Death arrived from eBay today. Despite the fact she is basically a statue, I think she looks good. I'm interested to hear how you are all displaying her - flesh or skeleton? I dug out my old Infinity Gauntlet comics and she appears mostly in her flesh form in that series so that's what I'm leaning towards.

As far as Nick Furys go I personally feel the original mail away is a must have and for the price it can't be beat. If you have more MCU figures then you need the Sam Jackson Fury. My favorite is the IM2 drone pack because of the "leather" trenchcoat he is wearing. I bought 2 so that I could put the coat on punisher as well. I also have the Blue and White AA Fury and I like it a lot, but he has to go with other AA figures as that is his design basis. Then again you could always get them all and head swap around until you find the combination you were looking for. Again this is all personal tastes. The articulation is on par with all of them the only weird one is the IM2 drone pack as it is actually on a G.I. Joe buck like Professor X.

Mine arrived from HTS this morning. My son and daughter immediately started fighting over the foam gauntlet, I felt like the mad Titan himself, minus a mistress lol. This set is better than I expected. I'm displaying death as human cuz my kids need the illusion or it creeps em out. I wish death came without the spinal column attached to the head so I could use it for a moondragon or stick the skull on a different articulated body. Funny I was gonna dig out my old infinity gauntlet comics too.
I would say get all the nick furys, all solid great figs and each different (sr, jr, and Sam Jackson movie style). I saw a bunch of the legends movie ones on clearance back in 2012, passed cuz I only got 3.75" stuff back then, now they are worth their weight in gold almost.

My Nick Fury is my current in the works project. I'm using the IM2 Sam Jackson Head & Hands, Steve Rogers Body, Mail Away Fury Shoulders & Gear, Punisher Boots. It'll be the Mashup fury but will look awesome when completed.

[QUOTE=jmurray90720;553533]Alternitavely, an original Brotherhood set would also be awesome.

I would just like to state that JMurray put together a package for me that came to my house very quickly and is packaged most safely and incredibly thoroughly beautifully well done. I'm very very happy I have only high praise for JMurray high praise!

I will be sending out your Scarlett Witch tomorrow, curious if you need sunfire?
