I replaced the claws with the claws from the 3.75" version of the same figure, and attached them to a SHS Doc Ock body. The result:

Has anyone bought any Playmation figures? My Walmart has not sold one in over a month, so I think these will go to the clearance bin. I'm thinking the Hulk head is very usable, and maybe the Widow head when it arrives.

I am sold on that Magneto kitbash!

Also, perfect Doc PP.... nailed it! Any modifications needed to his back? Would those work on the MI release as well?

The only Playmation figures that seem to sell around here are the MODOK figures. I've seen everyone else except him peg-warm pretty hard.

I have a very detailed tutorial posted at another forum in my personal custom thread. Major mods were needed, but it really wasn't that hard and he is nigh indestructible. The tutorial shouldn't be hard to find. After all, we're in the same club.

Ah... I am to peek into the treasure chest....

Had to google Playmation Marvel.... That look decent. That MODOK is boss though. How well do they scale? What is their retail?

Retail here in the states is around $15 or so. And I've not bought him myself yet (like I said, he's always sold out) but he seems like he'd be a pretty good scale for MU figures. Especially if you think the BaF is too big.

Yes, the treasure chest!

MODOK is decently sized, but a tad undersized with spindly limbs. The Iron Man animated MODOK from Toy Biz scales much nicer, but he needs repainting to fit modern sensibilities.

I do like the IM MODOK but I am perfectly happy with the BAF version. I am a sucker for articulated fingers.

Although this does look good

Any shots of the IM version with AIM troopers anyone?

As mentioned smaller than I would like, but perfectly suitable since he is readily available at retail and I don't have to repaint one I have tracked down on ebay. Also, I dont think size particularity matters for him. For a genetically altered cyborg thingy I suspect size could vary after different rebuilds.

I saw a size chart once and the BAF is on point. Plus 1/3 of the figures size is the smoke plume under his seat. They all have their pluses and minuses. Seems we never a perfect anything, just 2 or 3 close enoughs.

Thanks for the input Jay. I look forward to seeing someone post him sometime. Are they articulated in any way? I am assuming they are static like the Disney Infinity figures.

They've got a couple of points; arms and neck I believe

Correct seems to be 2-3 points of articulation per figure.

Hey UKMU, Agents of SHIELD retconned the heck out of Marvel Cinematic Hydra this week. Did you see it? For some reason whenever I see something Hydra related, I think of you.

That looks great. Will have to check that tutorial out. Don't have a Doc Ock yet probably will get the SHS one. No idea why the infinite version had Luke Cage legs.

He has an avengers assemble cartoon look so the spindly arm are pretty close to that look. Which make sense since I've never seen this version physically hold anything or use a gun since most of his power is controlling tech with his brain.

^ Shoulda put a ring on it ha ha!

This article was interesting to me:

Hasbro CEO: More Star Wars toys are coming - Yahoo Finance

"So will you be able to find all the Star Wars toys you want before Christmas? Goldner won’t quite guarantee it but says, "It takes us about 8 weeks to produce a toy and get it to market, and we’re moving as fast as we can to make sure everybody gets the toys they want for the holidays.”

I always wondered how long it takes to produce these things once they have the molds and character selection etc down.

K-Dub... Forgot you had that MODOK displayed. Looks well good!

Thanks Jedi, for MODOK 2 or 3 could work, the rest just for heads maybe.

Kernal great article, always wondered too. 8 weeks seems like the super fast track. I am looking for a couple new Stoormies for under the tree. Found Captain Phasma and Kylo. Just a a couple taster toys to see if the boy likes them.

Mutankind- funniest figure posing I have seen ALL year!!! You win two internets.

Jay- I have lost faith/interest in AGENTS OF SHIELD, I will watch them online sometime in a marathon. HYDRA was my boys favourite and it grew on me. I heart evil. Always had Cobra and Stormtroopers winning when I played as a kid. Evil is cool.
