Looking to acquire Spidey villains. What versions of characters like Scorpion, Carnage, the Goblins and Doc Ock would people recommend?

Unless you have something against translucency, go with the box set for Scorp and Carnage. Goblins? I have no personal preference so someone else can help you there. I hear Showdown Otto is pretty popular.

Well, I'd prefer solid colour to translucency but it depends how much of the figure is translucent. Anyone have pics? I assume these figures will have been released in previous Spider-Man lines, anyone know which ones?

I know there are several versions but since I'm not a completionist, I'd like to know what figures are "best"

I don't know much about ML but if your looking for MU scale:

Scorpion- the only one I know of is from the spiderman line cool fig. but he's not the classic version but from the ultimate marvel universe.

Carnage- from spiderman line is awesome but can be expensive on eBay

Goblins- the superhero showdown version is awesome with a great head sculpt but awful glider, the MU version comes in two colors dark and light green great figures with great bodies and gliders but the head sculpt not so great then there's the spidey line good figs. but I feel their heads are a little too large IMO.

Doc Ock- hands down the best version is the super hero showdown Ock if you can find it.

This all JMO hope this helps.

The Doc Ock from the new movie isn't a bad modern Octavius.

The analogue founding Avengers:

US Agent (Captain America, who is pretty much a founder)
War Machine (Iron Man)
Beta Ray Bill (Thor)
Red Hulk (Hulk)
Goliath (Giant Man)
Black Widow (Wasp) - Perhaps the female Yellowjacket would have been better, but she doesn't have a fig yet. Wasp is an insect, Black Widow is an arachnid = what I was thinking.

Been reading some of the Marvel Now stories. So far, The All New X-Men story is my fav. (Thanks to Quinten182 for the figures)

Now I want more first class figures.

Beast-Mode (added fodder belts)

Credit to Mastersteef on the Thor recipe. Thanks to Optimus Vader for where to get helmeted Thor.

I like the translucent Carnage. It's not too clear and seems more fluid if that makes sense.

Had an amazing weekend and had to share some of my haul with y'all. I went to Eckman's Toy Show just north of San Antonio yesterday. In the first photo there was a dealer sealing all of his single figs for $5 each so I took advantage of that. I'm trying to build up my sealed collection and this knocked a small dent in it. Got some decent deals on the figs in the other pics as well. Sorry for some of the blurryness. I was using my camera phone.

This I picked up today at Target. I noticed several Targets in my area have clearanced the 8-pack Avengers set for $35 so me and a buddy picked one up.

If shipping in the states is over $7, it's being done wrong. A wisely packed carded 4" figure shouldn't be more than 13 ounces, and that's only $3.65 FCM and $5.70 PPM. If someone is charging much more than that, they're padding their prices to make more money or they just don't know how to optimize packing weight.

I had a spare thor in my fodder bin where I was able to do the leg swap. Had to order that thor figure from amazon. Optimus told me they had them for cheap. Great recipe where no painting was involved.
