I hate to say it... But, I thought Spidey looked a bit, not sure the word? Just didn't look "right" with the other characters and the screen. I hate to be 'that guy on the internet' bashing stuff too early, but I'm not so sure just yet.
Anyway, my local stores are out of 3.75" too. Even the Force Awakens stuff sell quickly. ( the Star Wars 3.75" figures are £10 and Marvel 3.75" are £9) I see six inch rotting. Even the Ultimate Green Goblin 6" BAF wave is at discount stores (like your Ross and TJ MAXX) for like a few bob and even they don't sell. Perhaps Hasbros plan to bury our line MIGHT backfire and make it stronger than ever?!? In two years time it comes back with FULL attention to detail? Spare heads, hands and accessories galore? For around $13-$15 with stands included and a BAF figure part too? I'd be in st that price for that amount of stuff like 6" get but a fiver cheaper....

His eyes looked a bit weird to me, but I'm sure it will be excellent.
We can dream man. As long as they keep producing figures on our scale, I'm happy So, Going to my first ever comic con this weekend in Liverpool. Pretty excited. Any hints or tips? |

As a matter of fact I am, how did you know? Haha. It's in the exhibition centre, so I'm assuming it will be pretty big. This one is an MCM one as well. Would be nice to go in the summer as well I think.

sounds like how I used to spend Saturday nights in the local comic shop till they stopped the cosplay stuff in favor of huge magic and pokemon tournaments. sadly they shut down a couple months after the change.

Well, I tried my hand at a simple custom, and I'm calling it a failure.
Despite using Krylon Fusion Red for the body and the same Model Masters Acryl I always use for my minor touch-ups, the red keeps coming off every time I touch the figure. Couple that with the fact that for some reason now his right arm WILL NOT stay firmly attached at the bicep swivel and keeps dropping off... yeah. This is a no-go. But I think my overall concept for his construction is solid. The parts in this scheme look good and he does indeed look like the character he's supposed to be. Ah, well. Live and learn so that next time I'll do better. ![]() ![]() |

Ah.... too much skin and not enough pleather.
![]() Looks cool though Ursa, go to figurehead.com and read and re-read all the tutorials. Maybe needed to sand the whole body down first to give something to 'stick' to? Primer and a sealer could help with rub. Also the "super glue trick" works well on joints. I'm in no position to give critiques or tips, it I can tell you that the tutorials on figure realm are a bible of custom info. Also, try watering down or thinning the paint.... Edit: it looks REALLY good and just because it didn't turn out as expected, doesn't meqn it a fail. Hope you keep at it and you take the above advice as a positive vibe. You have a real knack for recipes, now practice your execution!! (Practice on twenty McDonald's toys before you try again and I bet it is pro quality!!!)

I've never had trouble with my acrylic paints sticking on(besides certain joints), but that might be part of your problem.

![]() The trailer really doesn't do the texture or eyes any justice. It looks far better when you look at a high def pic like this.

Live and learn so that next time I'll do better. ![]() As for tips, the first and most important tip I can offer is to be patient and TAKE YOUR TIME! I spend a few days making customs (usually doing them 2/3 figs at a time) while watching tv or playing a game or whatever. I can apply a couple of coats to one figure and while that is drying work on the next. By the time the last coat is applied to the last figure it's about an hour or two later and the first figure is completely dry and ready for the next road of coating. And for that body, the bicep pegs can warp easily. Happened on Luke Cage for me. You can CAREFULLY shave the peg down (rotate the arm/body as you shave off layers of the plastic to keep it even) until the arm will go on and stay on. If you do it right the arm will go on good as new and won't fall off. Um...as a caveat I don't recommend actually doing this unless you're comfortable with taking an exacto to the peg because if you trim it too much the peg will be ruined and the only way to fix it would be to crack open the torso and replace the entire shoulder ball but that opens up a whole can of worms. So... yeah... No need for primer, these figures take paint easily without it. Regarding the oil, you can wash the figures if you want but it hasn't made much difference in my experience so I don't see what the fuss is. I also have my figures soaking in boiling hot water for a minute so I can just pull them apart easily so maybe that accomplishes the same thing. No idea, never thought much about it either way. Highly recommend using a sealer as I've mentioned before. I use Krylon Matte Finish 1311. Bonds the paint to the plastic and seals out moisture. Just don't overdue the spray!! A fine coat should do it. I hold the can about a foot away when spraying. All that said, great go at a custom, Ursa, and definitely not a failure! For a first attempt that's phenomenal work!! Everyone has to start somewhere. Just practice and it'll get easier. And uh...I hope you're not drinking straight from that bottle of Worcestershire Sauce in the background there. ![]() Last edited by Mordiganne; 03-11-2016 at 04:35 PM.. |

Anyone know any other Marvel female characters that have fur cuffed boots other than Shanna and Black Cat? Trying to find something to do with this body without having to sculpt or sand the legs.

Spiral and Satana are two characters whose names come to mind, even though the boots are not 100% accurate to their comic art. |

The body is too small for Spiral, but Satana will be perfect. And she's a villain too which is a plus! Sculpting extra fur on her boots is fine, just didn't want to do cuffs or anything like that on top of the fur. Thanks, Redfox!

Also, recently joined Facebook again, just for the figures. Can anyone recommend/add me to any good pages or groups for general marvel 3.75" discussion/trade/buy/sell/appreciation?
