First, welcome to the Toyark! Second, distribution is the retailer's fault, not Hasbro's. Hasbro can't force Walmart, et. al., to put MU or Star Wars or anything else on the shelf.

You may want to read through this: http://www.toyark.com/general-refere...llectors-6030/
I read your thread its quite informative, and mostly accurate, the exception being WM, there distrabution system is quite different from all other retailers, they, for lack of a better term "rent" shelf space to product producers,in this case Hasbro, who in turn sends them product through a vender to stock on the rented shelves, Hasbro dirrectly controls what percentage of shelf space goes to which particular brand. therefore they saturate us with Avengers and Spiderman stuff because there non-collector based marketing research has determined thats what there target market (children who only what they've seen in the last week) will buy. and walmart dosnt "buy" product, they only ditribue. the venders dont get paid till merchandice moves. thats how they cripple huge corperations, and why venders call them the anti-christ...

Sounds good, I'm always on the hunt as well. A USS Flagg Helicarrier would be classified in my book as "Supreme Baddassery"!!!

I like the Helicarrier I got for Xmas, but Im let down by the lack of electronics and features. Its makes for a great display though...

I'm still riding the fence on the Avengers Helicarrier, I was wondering with the SDCC exclusive being a foot longer, how does it go together? could you buy two, or three at retail and add sections to make it longer?

I would really really hope the changes necessary would be simple additions that could be removed. Would be a shame to permanently change something that is akin to an increasingly scarce holy grail... and the king of all playsets!

The regular Heli looks like nothing to me. The SDCC one is marginally better, but considering the size and how special it could have been it should be laden with many more features imo.

Ok since she is people sized, I have to wonder how the sex act works between Galactus and a human size woman.

Sounds like a lot of pain and discomfort.

Is that true? I guess I could see how they can get away with on some items where the manufactures are desperate but why would most companies put up with that? I know Wal-Mart is evil so I'd believe just about anything.

companies put up with it because its probably the biggest retail chain in the world. If they know walmart will carry their product, they know theyre set.

I don't get why the exclusives aren't more like this. (I want her figure too!)
She was an online comic, so the online service for her figure is perfect.
Old man Logan makes sense too.
X-Force archangel and nick fury not so much.

I don't think that's how it works with Galactus' "kind".

Remember, big G doesn't have a specific size or even appearance at all, for one. And another, based on events that occur in that book, I don't think that's how reproduction works with them, either.

While I have several questions regarding this "system" you speak of, this is not the thread for it so I won't derail it any further by providing a lengthy rebuttal. Sufficed to say, I strongly disagree with what you have said, based on my personal experience and what others have shared with me over the years.

If you wish to continue discussing the matter we can start a separate thread in the General Discussion forum or via PM.

I wouldn't mind seeing a knowledgeable debate about distribution, but in a different thread.

I'm in, I think it could be a useful tool in collecting, cuz damn it would be nice to have a way to know a month out when were getting new product, other than watching the asian market.
