All I know is I love toys and Marvel comics so as long as I can put little plastic guys on a shelf i'm happy. If that's a hundred Wolverine's then cool, if they look good and connect me to the art of comic-book story telling then i'm happy.
I can't say I know anything about this Vonner guy or what the distribution issues are in the US. I live in the UK so get a little tired of hearing people lamenting how they can only find certain figures from recent waves when Brits are lucky to even see the MU figures in the wild.
Sorely tempted to chew the head off my solid Vision and give my deathmask Archangel to a five-year old just to make a point. They're toys. If the line dies or evolves into something else then so be it, it's not sad or heart-breaking in the grand scheme.
It's more exciting to me that Hasbro have attempted to push the line out to a wider audience. As someone that loves toys I can't lament more toys coming out.
The thing that amuses me and perturbs me is the sense of entitlement people have regarding what companies should be doing for them. You could get a line of core Avengers over and over or you could have a range of core characters and collector focused characters AS WELL. Just be happy you have the luxury to be concerned over this utterly pointless argument rather than something that actually means something.
Geeks, I love ya and hate ya in equal measures!
Don't do that, I'll pretend to be a 5 year old just to get the Death Mask Archangel

If true, that means that Shaman, Sasquatch, Marrina and 3.75 Snowbird will join Wasp, Polaris, Banshee, and the Byrne costume Invisible Woman as figures that are necessary to scratch the completionist itch. What are the chances we will ever see them in the same scale and articulation as their compatriots?

Probably should also mention the MIA Sinister Six members and classic Spidey villains since I've not cared for the movie lines of figures. I would love to see a MU Dr. Octopus, Vulture, and Sandman. Labcoat Lizard, classic Scorpion, and Shocker would be nice too.

I hope MU isn't dead, or at the very least this is just a stealth rebrand.

It is kinda funny how you are lumping a lot of different people and comments into one "geeks" group like we all said the same thing. The fact that Hasbro is just telling people at their booth that they are ending MU/ML and shifting into this other stuff isn't a good sign. Don't you think if it was good news they would save it for the panel where they could have awesome new figures to show up and immediately shut up any naysayers? Clearly they don't have much regard for the line so they are just telling whoever asked at preview night. I hope they show some great stuff this weekend but there isn't any reason to expect great things with the info they just dropped on us. At least not for the 3.75" stuff.

It's disappointing that figures they just showed us at Toy Fair have already been canceled and figures we have been waiting for since two Cons ago may never get made. I don't think many of us are feeling entitles to anything but disappointed at the way things are looking. Anyone would be annoyed if they were showed a product, planned to buy it (maybe even put money down), and then were told that product is never getting produced. It's very natural and has nothing to do with "geeks" being "geeks" bro. We are just giving a rational analysis of the information that Hasbro has just given us. If you don't like it I guess you can go troll elsewhere?

Lets make a toy that has great demand, totally screw up distribution, totally mismanage it and it still makes money. What do you do ?? kill it. These frigging idiots that are in charge should be shot. This line was basically DOA when Vonner was let go . This was his baby. It has taken Hasblo the last 2 years to catch up to what he had in the works. It seems no one else there had either the imagination or inclination to give this line the attention it deserved. But at least we did get many great figures , Thanks David.

look folks calm down, most of us probably remember a few years ago when legends was "canceled".. now there getting blizzard and balroc !!! don't forget it's all a numbers game, these lower sales, distro issues, and I'm sure negative consumer feed back are not being missed by Hasbro, there new direction will self correct when this new guy in charge gets canned or deported to a sales branch in Antarctica. The 3.75 well articulated Marvel figure Genie has been let out of the box I don't think it will ever truly "end". This genera in this scale has become Iconic, at least to me, Its on the level of GI joe, he-man, ninja turtles, star wars, or its predecessor ML. If they ever do run this train off the tracks completely I'm going to finance some of the customs gurus on this site were gonna buy some molding machines and start a blatantly illegal mass bootlegging operation. and so help me god if I don't get that Ant-man! I will quit my job fly to Hong Kong steal that mold, fly to Mexico and have it produced and smuggle it into the country through a drug tunnel!!!!

The legends Phoenix Cyclops for one as well as Rogue. That whole wave of legends variants. He said he will try to find a place to sneak those in but no promises. Didn't say anything MU directly other than Foom being axed but it seems a number of MU we've seen have no plan for release and may never be made now. It's just not a good sign when they are canceling figures even though they tell us the lines are just transitioning to a new branding. For legends it does look promising but not for MU. We know the guying running things now has always hated MU and is a legends guy so it makes sense why Legends is getting all the figures we wish were coming in MU.

They said we will get figures with the same POA but then they said that Avengers Assemble and MU are both getting rolled into this new Avengers line. Meaning spots will be taken up by figures for the cartoon and we have no idea how that will turn out. Look at that poor hulk figure they are giving us. Looked awesome at Toy Fair but now that we see it they are using two different shades of plastic and the head looks way worse.

We'll see how the panel goes but it looks like I'll have more money to spend on other stuff for the next while. Either way I do agree that good Marvel 3.75" will never end forever and we will see the stuff we want eventually.

I hold out hope that Ant-Man will get made around the time his movie comes out and they are just saving the figure for that. Imagine if they had waited on the GotG packs until the movie was released? Bet they wouldn't have warmed as bad.

I spoke to many Hasbro reps and nothing is being canceled. If nothing else they are going to make more. Also dont blame hasbro that much they kept blaming it on the retailers

I'm not pleased to see that Northstar & Aurora are apparently getting the same "share a slot" treatment that Cloak & Dagger are getting, and perhaps Abomination and A-Bomb. There's no telling how difficult that will make purchasing these figures. I don't care about A-Bomb, but I want all the other figures.

As for the good news, that Black Knight looks amazing! I love it.

MU becoming avengers would mean that the peg warming days of Gladiator are over!

All hail to the new peg warmer, Doctor Druid!

I would have much preferred this AOA Nightcrawler:

Hopefully, Hasbro will do the right thing and include Cloak & Dagger 1 per case and Abomination and A-Bomb 1 per case instead of 2 of only one of the characters per case. I am fine with the shared packaging but at least pack new figures 1-2 per case. You would think they would learn how to pack cases to improve distribution by now.

Oh Black Knight! I love you. It's exactly the version I wanted from the Roger Stern\John Buscema era. Hawkeye and Black Knight are my all time favorite Avengers.

So far looking decent.

Hope the rebranding means we'll see more diversity to those teams and their families.
Still holding out hope for a red she-hulk, Ant-man, among others from avengers.

There's a lot they can do with the rebranding this way to refresh though. Plus with the large library they got of figures to tap still, it could work out very well for everyone. Do avengers core and extended families like Secret Avengers Venom, then do the same for X-Men, then so on. Maybe get some better exclusive packs out too like sinister six, symbiosis(Flash venom, carnage, anti-venom) and more.

Right now though, I'm mostly content with what we're getting. Only red she-hulk and ant-man besides emma frost are missing from my shelf. Can't wait to see what else comes, but at least we're still getting some sweet stuff! Besides, some of the bucks do make awesome filler pieces like AA Hawkeye and BW for modern them and even that Ultimate Fury. So here's hoping we see the trend continue with Blizzard and others too. There's a lot they could do with stuff like Titanium man re-released or Titanium man with a new ultron head for a new ultron, or comic cover extremis ultron, etc.

Case ratios are always a balancing act. For every Angel, there will be a Gladiator. X-23 was a highly-demanded figure when she first came out, but now pegwarms. And that's not even counting the pressure placed on Hasbro by the retailers.

The problem is Hasbro is never sure about these lower-tier characters, so they hedge their bets and limit how many are in a given case. The flip side of that is they expect the marquee characters to sell well, so that's why you usually see more of Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, etc. in the case.

Considering the development cycle of toys is between 1 to 2 years on average, you really can't blame Hasbro for that. That's the amount of time it takes to go from the drawing board to the finished product on the peg/shelf.
