Just saw the winter soldier what an awesome movie! I just wish the figs in 1/18th scale were as good as the 6" scale.

After Cap 2 I want a SHIELD setup
+Commander Rogers
+Maria Hill
+Black Widow
-Coulson
-Agent 13

Really disappointed in the figure of the movie version so I jumped on an MU Commander Rogers instead.
Don't have the actual Maria Hill but I have the headcast and the BW body for it, just need to paint it after I finish my other projects.

definitely buying Falcon though after seeing the movie.

Looking back on MU I noticed that a lot of obscure characters got figures (which is great) but this was also the first toy (ever I think) of Darkhawk, one of my Marvel favorites. Which obscure character(s) are you surprised/grateful got the figure treatment?

the Wrecking crew in the SW packs
and the "amazing friends" TRU pack, people say these are for children, but who under thirty is even familiar with spiderman and his amazing friends?

Not sure how much she counts but Mary Jane.
Love interests don't always deserve figures but her and Lois Lane certainly do.

I'm under 30 and I remember watching those as a child, I also remember Spider-Man being on the electric company, some channel played re-runs a lot. Who cares if some people call it childish, if you enjoy the figures, more power to ya!

Gladiator
Firestar
Cloak
Dagger
Aurora
Tiger Shark
The entire Wrecking Crew
Sunfire
Grim Reaper - especially grateful for this one as to me in the comics it's like as high up as a second tier Avengers villain yet this was the first ever action figure of him even back from the 90's (not including the mini mates)

If I had a list it'd go down like this:
Darkhawk- already explained why
Professor X- they actually made a toy of a cripple, with hoverchair!
Beta Ray Bill- not as obscure as others, still great
Blastaar- such an insignificant unheard from villain
Guardians of the Galaxy pack- I've read GotG since before there was a tree and raccoon on the team, and when this pack came out they still weren't very popular

amen brother! I'm just saying that nowadays Spidy and his amazing friends is a pretty obscure reference, I was surprised, and happy to get a Firestar considering we still haven't got a lot of the more common characters that I would have bet on having early in the line.

Just in terms of shape and size.... I would go with Puck and The Blob. I know Blob wasn't MU, but XMO.... still. Very unique moulds for them both. Rare for Hasbro to make something they can't reuse.

I think the ultimate winner is death's head. He hasn't been relevant in comics in years and never made it to a major book or event.

Spider woman 2 - should be on the list. Sw 2 packs were a great place to release her. They pretty much phased her out in comics.

Good point on the Death's Head. How about some more Transformers related figures! Next Up, Circuit Breaker! LOL. Now THAT would be hilarious even though she'd make a really good custom base for a Dazzler circa late 80's I'd think.

Noteworthy observation! He's been peppered here and there with appearances in books like Iron Man and Spider-Man, but Marvel doesn't like picking into Death's head because of his awkward cross-franchise origins between Marvel/Transformers/Doctor-Who. Being a Marvel and Transformers collector I'm looking forward to this figure, yes?

most obscure is bag man or Firestar. I also loved how many Jean Greys there were in the series, in the 90s she was few and far between in figures.

I also enjoyed the Dark Avengers being released, that series got me back into comics. Although i slept on the figures it was insane when that Dark Ms Marvel came out. I dreamt of it but they actually made her which was crazy.

yeah Deaths head is going to be insane, its like when GI Joe 25th did Matt Tracker from MASK, any figure with appeal to multiple collectors in multiple franchises is going to be a pain to find, especially Marvel, and Transformers! I see him becoming one of the most sought after figures in the line. hell they ought to double pack him with a Hot wheels car with a GI Joe logo on it and make the most impossible to find figure of the century!

Union Jack, doc Samson, IM 2020, patriot, and ronin surprised me. Gladiator was a peg warmer that somehow multiplied itself in my area. I grew up on 90's comics so I was stoked to get darkhawk.
As for bag man I wonder how happy got these figs? I'm just happy to have gotten one, I gave up too and literally threw a paper bag over reed Richards so lame lol.

I wanted to get Bag-Man so I could make a good Mr. Fantastic. Of course that didn't work out. At least not yet anyway.

And yet we still don't have straight-up regular Phoenix in this scale yet.

For me the 'I can't believe they made it' was the classic look Captain Britain. I even said to a friend when the line started that they'd never make the figures I would want, and when he asked what ones I meant I named classic Cap Britain, Wrecking Crew, Titania, Absorbing Man (Secret Wars generally). You can imagine how 'in' I was with the line when they started coming out! Now I just want them to make the whole of The Rangers team...
