For me it's not about the value, it's just later on thinking hmm I think I should grab that figure, it does look cool and what not and it'll fit in my collection. I'm sure all of us had to pass on a figure for whatever reason and not because back then the dollar value has gone up on it and wish we had it.

My first MUs were Cyke and Hulk (via their comic pack), I also got an IM2 comic War Machine, and Spidey-line Venom. I was hesitant about spending $9 on a 4" figure, LOL. Anywhoo, they were pre-SDCC birthday presents from the Mrs. That was several thousand dollars ago. This was back when I was able to pick up a readily available Jean Grey to put in my Cyke display case. Back when solid Vision peg-warmed with Blade and XF Warpath...I sh*t you not

It's not so much the "scalping value" as I don't sell, it's the fact that later I've had to pay scalper prices to acquire something when it was sitting right there. unless your Richie rich I think all of us have been in the situation where you get to the store, a fresh case has been cracked and you can only afford two or three figures and there's five or six you don't have, that's when (if your a completionist like me) you have to decide who you think will be there later when you have the funds, and who you need to scoop up now because you will likely never see them again (for a reasonable price). and when I make a call 90% of the time I get boned! I thought for sure WWHulk would be everyone's must have, so I ended up not seeing spiderwoman again for like a month.

My first was the Thor-Enchantress two pack, followed by the Hawkeye-Piledriver and Magneto-Spiderman ones, back when figures were $5.99 and two packs were $12. Those Secret Wars packs were perfect for starting out.

Plus people have passing or peaking interests. Speaking of enchantress she peg warmed in that 2 pack for a while, I decided I want one, but her price is up. I never did see that amazing friends pack with firestar at retail. The genesis of this line was awesome, seeing MU and those DC infinite heroes at retail at the same time. I missed a lot of those too and am amazed at how expensive those dc 3.75" figs have gotten. This scale has went into the pits at retail.

yeah the toy isle from like 2009-2012 was an amazing place! we had well sculpted, well articulated representations of a crap load of comic characters in multiple scales, prices were reasonable and it seemed every couple weeks there was a new wave or multipack or large scale figure. I think it might have outdone the 90's as a collectors hay day.

Passing up on something and regretting it later on is the story of my life.

Used to happen to me all the time when I collected sneakers. I'd see a pair of Jordans I wanted and said to myself "I already have too much black/red" and a few weeks or months later I'd kick myself because I wanted them but they'd cost about double of retail.

The only figures I seriously regret not buying were Cable with baby Hope, Inhumans 3 pack, Crossbones & Old Man Logan at Comic Con just because I had bills or already had spent a lot on toys around the time. They're not super hard to find but since resellers think everything they own is worth it's weight in gold they're tough to justify paying what people want which is why I like trading instead of reselling and paying $30+ for a 3.75" toy.

Did you ever get the Cable without the baby accessory? Honestly the Cable without the baby was better to me because you didn't have a lame useless pink hunk of ugly. I found the Inhumans pack recently at Wal-mart in the clearance section, but it was crammed into the back against the wall, still checking the clearance section has great potential.

Nope. Only saw that Cable once at Target I think and never saw them again at retail. I recently came across one in package (no Hope baby) at a swap meet for $30 and passed. It's just too much and I can wait for a re-issue in the Marvel Infinite line.

I would take either one at this point but that baby one looked cooler to me for some reason. LOL

Just FYI - it seems that Avengers Infinite Wasp listing was removed from the hasbrotoyshop.com entirely.

My regrets, if you can call them that, are from passing on a figure that I deem non-essential at the time, but due to the line continuing to make quality figures from certain line ups or teams, I suddenly find myself needing that figure I passed on months ago. It's not something that's happened necessarily to me with MU lately because I'm sort of back to the buy it first think about it later way of collecting. And yes it can get expensive quickly.

I'm embarrassed that I don't remember who sent me this Deadpool missile cannon in the mail. I had to delete my messages because of the 50 limit thing.

If you see this PM me, so I can send a few bucks your way.

Edit:

It was IRONTUCK3000, thanks a lot bro. I owe you one!

Found the Fantastic Four team pack at Ross and also picked up a glider attack Green Goblin for $14.99 total, so that's pretty neat.

I finally got a hold of some of the newer figures here in Michigan. Picked up Grim Reaper, Black Knight, Mysterio, and Cloak. I grabbed an extra Cloak for a friend, but he beat me to it, so I have an extra for cost and shipping. PM me if anyone is interested.

The Green Goblin I found at Ross didn't come with his man-purse (just wasn't an accessory Hasbro wanted to make I guess), an older unused star wars accessory worked very well though.
