Never mind this might not be happening. Long story short I probably will not be able to be up that early. I hope they just hold out for a bit like last year.

Only just got round to watching the vids on you tube from this years SDCC of next years figures, being a new collector am ok to be excited by what i saw?
They look to have brought back the great articulation to a lot of the figures with some great characters and the comic two packs, to me it looks like Hasbro are being serious again with the 3.75 figures instead of some of the crap we got from this years waves. Another thing when it showed the 3.75 they were branded as Legends are they changing the branding again for the smaller figures? Only thing i didn't like was the video of the official slideshow presentation i watched had the official guy speaking introduce the 3.75 stuff by saying "now we've got the 6 inch out of the way lets get onto the good stuff" with a bit of a jeer behind it sounded a bit mocking and taking the piss, might be me though being paranoid. Is that a confirmed time? Dang I'm on the road during that time, thank God for smart phones, may need to pull over if it does come live ![]() |

Yeah. That's the pose! Except with his other hand reaching back to the sword. And yeah, I'm not fond of putting the sword back there either because of how it bends it, but it was already bent in the package so I ended up doing that anyway. In my case, it actually straightened out the sword, but haven't checked recently.

Think I may have to get that Terax. He may have nice been on my radar but have since forgotten all about him. Figure number 162 on the wanted list.

I can't find the post that said it, but someone stated that 3 3/4" collectors get playfully trolled by people who collect in the more "mature" lines. Is this true? If so, is the trolling common? I've been collecting Marvel 3 3/4" for a long time but I have only recently got in touch with the community so I'm new to this stuff.

Going a bit off topic, there's an MU Puck collecting dust in the back of my local comic store. He's labeled as $15 for some reason. Anyways, would you guys find it rude to bring it to the counter and haggle for it? I was thinking that nobody was going to find it, and the people who did probably wouldn't buy it. So I feel like it would be in their best interests to sell the figure for lower than it already is so that they can at least make some money off of it instead of it collecting dust. I've never haggled before. So would it be rude?

Rude or not, Haggling is common.
I personally haggle over everything when I am at conventions. Brick and Mortor stores are a bit different, but the outcome is usually the same. Plus if they have something else that is priced right you could do the ol' bundle technique (My personal favorite). I also feel like stores have something to gain by selling their dead stock for SOMETHING rather than it continue to collect dust, but a lot of stores I have hit feel like collectables appreciate in value the longer they sit on their shelves, which to me is ludicrous. If a figure doesn't sell for a year at $10 what makes you think it will ever sell at $15? Plus the rebranding made a lot of collectable stores raise the price of MU since it was no longer in production. |

Say item A is $20
Item B is -$10 Item C is -$15 Say I will give you $30 for the lot He will retort with $40 Settle in the middle at $35 Haggling is an art. You MUST be willing to walk away if it doesn't work out. Haggle for everything, even at Wal Mart... If a can Is .50 and enter offer the manager .20 for it. Even works other bent cards on toys... Never ever be embarrassed about saving YOUR money. You earned it, you deserve to get the MOST out of it!

And yes.... SOME collectors look down on us. Just read posts from the front page. At sdcc when we were shown Spidey Noir several ppl were like WHY do the mini me line get one and WE don't. There's a million other examples.
Basically we are happy for them to get stuff, they whine when get something and always make fun of us. Like WHY DOES IT MATTER IF THEY ARE 3 points of art hoatzin, it s a kids line. Not all, but a lot do. Those that do not say it never stick up for us. The only ones that do, collect both sizes.

You can pretty much haggle at any store that isn't a chain, be it a comic shop or antique shop. I did try to haggle at Wal-Mart once with the Inhumans 3 pack which was in clearance but the price tag was scratched off so I was like "how about $10?" and then they seriously got the manager and it took them like 5 minutes to look it up in the system and it came out at $17 instead, pretty much the only thing you can haggle at a grocery store anymore is damaged goods. I didn't really think they'd go for my $10 offer but I tried anyway, I suppose Wal-Mart is too big to let one unmarked clearance toy go for less than what they already marked it down to.

Target will give you a 10% discount for items with damaged packaging, but I've never tried haggling down the price further.

Why would that be a good thing them being packaged in the boxes? That means people would be able to display/play with the figure then package it back up and stick on ebay and make up some rubbish like "bought this spur of the moment and decided against collecting this scale of figure" and pass it off as new, oh hang thats' what I did with some legends figures a few month ago when I started on this mad world of action figure collecting after I decided on sticking to the Universe/infinite line. No given the choice id prefer sealed packaging any day.

Moved Hank to a different part of the display. The Founders are speaking with the newcomers from IamElemental (which I need to buy more of, truthfully).

I was looking through old parts of this thread out of boredom. Found this epic picture. The only thing I don't like about this picture is the Deadpool. I prefer the one from the X-Men Origins: Wolverine line. The one that came with Taskmaster makes him look too serious, imo.

If it's the head sculpt you need, I took it off to replace it with a Hal Jordan head from Green Lantern, so it's spare.

Yes, I was talking about the head sculpt. But it's cool. I already have the Origins figure. Also, could you show us the Hal Jordan Deadpool figure?

Oh I got it, $17 was too good to pass since I did want all 3 figures. Now I want them to make a Crystal and maybe Gorgon as well.
