Better versions of the pics for you all to ogle at. Personally, I'm excited.

Are these loading for everybody? They're coming up blank over here...

Why? We've got a new wave with mostly good mold reusage, and they're giving us better articulated 3 3/4 inch MCU figures. Things aren't the BEST that they could be, but they're looking up.

Maybe it's just the picture but something about Cap's legs just look...off. I can't seem to put my finger on it though.

Have at it. I took it from elsewhere myself, and while mine's not painted nearly as nice as that one was I'm sure yours will be. ;-) The Inspiration came from here.

Well, my wallet just got kicked in the junk. BBTS sent out a notice that the pre-orders for the new 2016 Marvel Legends 3.75" Wave 1 figures are in.

*Ouch* X<

That is fast, weren't they just announced last week? Kind of surprise you didn't just order the case of 8, would have been almost the same and have the extra figures. Glad I didn't pre order the case though hopefully HTS gets these soon then.

Awesome re: BBTS. And Captain Marvel was back in stock! Just ordered her and she's the only one I'm interested in. Hopefully she will remain in stock long enough for my order to fill. Caught up again...until who knows when the next wave/ 2 packs ship.

LOL! I'm still working on wave 2 from last year.

Do you mostly buy online or retail? I don't think I've bought a 3.75" in years in retail. Heck outside of the rare figure wave 1 from last year, what little is on the pegs in this area is wave 1 from 2014, minus from the comic shops. It's pretty bad....that's why I am doing this scale all online as there is almost no chance I'll ever see anything else.

Made myself a custom (unmasked) Hellcat tonight. She's far from perfect, but she's about as good as I can muster.

Once somebody shrinks and casts the 6" head I'll replace this one. But for now, Patsy can join the party at the Mansion.

Does adding chest articulation REALLY add that much to the cost of making a figure? It seems that Falcon has Ankle pivit/rocker so thats a plus but ahhh the stiff chests just annoy me.

Still cheaper than a 6 inch wave.

Retail, that's the problem. I don't like online because figures are expensive enough without shipping. Especially if you can only afford to buy them one at as time.

Yes. Each joint added adds a new mold that needs to be made. Now if you had been around awhile, you would recall the articles in the old toy magazines describing the process stating that the making of the mold is the most expensive part of the process, which is why:
Using the same mold for multiple figures potentially cuts the mold process cost in half.
Toyguru lost tons of credibility with us old timers when he tried to say the mold and paint app processes cost the same. Maybe all that pinstriping on Spiderman, but no way on Black Panther or Silver Surfer.

I thought that was crystal at first.

I didn't look too closely at the crotch lol. There is no Classic spidey with rocker ankles, only the FF and bag head versions.

I know right. If they just added the chest/diaphragm articulation and a ball hinged neck it would go a long way on figures like beast and triton etc

Generally looks good. I don't like the feet because there are supposed to be claws, which is what has been stopping me. As for the mask, I would shave/grind the head bald where the mask is going to be, then take some vinyl from an old 3 ring binder and make the side fins and superglue them in place before painting.

I have found old binders to be an excellent source of vinyl material for capes, cloaks, coats and such, and if you look around in May/June you can find a lot of them just thrown away. Free is good.

My LCS just got an amazing carded collection of MU figures in stock. It's the most I've ever seen IRL. As impressed as I am, my wallet's not ready for all this awesomeness.
