The Universe is expanding.... (pics to follow in next post)
Again, no pure Hasbro product in this bunch. Not in a rush to get anything that's out/ coming out that I haven't already picked up yet. Plenty of time to get what I want later. Vision is there because I finally fixed up the awful sculpting I did on his lower torso. Once I pick up one of the new Visions I can replace his head. I'm not quite done with my villain customizing kick, but had more "heroic" ideas for this batch. So, onto the rest... Misty Knight - I'm pretty "meh" on the character but decided to make her anyway since there's been such a severe deficit of female characters (good and bad) in figure form. I'm not a fan of the shoulder straps on this costume so I left them off. I need to redo her left earring since it's bigger than I realized, so at some point I'll crack that one off and replace it. Now just need to get her a revolver. I'm sure I can scavenge one from my long defunct G.I. Joe collection. Vanguard - This guy is easily the most annoying custom I've made yet. He's got a design that is hard to create and a really odd color scheme. Added some belt loops so he can carry the gear I made for him. After weeks - literally - of working on this custom I'm glad he's done. The Winter Guard is almost complete. Now just need to figure out how I'm going to tackle Ursa Major. The Captain - This guy essentially started while researching shield designs for USAgent because that Eagle shield Hasbro made is moronic and the Hasbro shield that was close to what he carried has the colors inverted. Anyway, while researching, the good Captain's shield came up so I decided to paint one of the many extra cap shield's I've acquired - since I like using that figure for customs. After having the shield I wanted someone to hold it on display so making the Captain was the logical next step. Captain America #350 is one of the comics that I really used to like as a kid. Seeing the two captains face off was pretty fun. That's saying something since I never really enjoyed CA in comics. He just didn't translate that well to me, but I really liked the Captain in that issue. Shaman - I don't really like how the headband turned out. I'll fix that up at some point. It's just a bit off how I was envisioning. I should have sculpted it as part of the hair when I was doing that, but I added it after the fact so it's too....bulky. I'm not a huge Alpha Flight fan and really only have an interest in the original team at this point, so needed Shaman and Snowbird to finish that group off. Snowbird is slated for a later batch, and I found some animals that will be perfect for her transformations. I'll add any other AF members that pique my interest later. Crossfire - I'm not sure how I first ran across this guy, but a tech based, gun shooting, bad guy is right up my alley. His comic history is kind of wonky, but I really wanted to take a stab at his design scheme. Like how he came out, but painting the white lines was a chore. Glad I did him first in this batch. Rogue - 2nd Outback era X-man is done. Sculpting her hair was time consuming. I thought of going with the "Flock of Seagulls" hairstyle but it looks soooo stupid in 3d (yes, I did sculpt it and promptly scrapped it - it's an awful look) and just went with this instead. It kept the puffy style they used in the comics without being completely ridiculous. Now there's only a couple of customs left to make that will finish up that team. Dr Spectrum - Initially I had no reason for/ interest in making this guy or any of the Squadron members. If they were made I'd buy them but if not, oh well. Then I started checking out the Avengers Assemble cartoon recently. It's definitely kiddy (it's a cartoon so - duh) and it's no EMH, but it doesn't deserve the lambasting it's gotten. It's not *that* bad. Anyway, the Squadron is highly featured on season 2 and they're definitely villains - wasn't real familiar with this team so never knew if they were good or bad - now I'm calling them bad and calling it a day - so it gave me a reason to finish the team. Dunno if I'll make a Nuke, but one of the Valkyrie's I picked up will now become the Princess/Zarda. Silver Fox - Other than a brief appearance in an episode of the 90's X-Men cartoon and an old issue of Wolverine I used to have I had next to no exposure to the character. Now I guess she's dead or something...with comics these days death is just a mini-vacation anyway so, yeah, I don't know. I do know that I wanted more figures for team Hydra and having another femme fatale to put along side Viper seemed a good idea. So, Silver Fox has been added to the collection. |

Nothing against Vortious personally and agree his heads are excellent. As for other body parts - ordered a full green female kit for a Gamora custom but arms and legs tore so assumed I was doing something wrong in putting them together. Fast Forward several months and a full blue female kit for Mystique - took my time, used the boil n pop method (in reverse) and still had splits in the limbs. Could cope with that (just) but not with the joints on one wrist, both feet and a shoulder shearing when I put it together. With unexpected Customs charges of over £11 that was getting on for £30 down the Karzi
![]() Need to source a chair but definitely tempted by your offer. Whereabouts are you in the UK and what kind of cost/turn round time would I be looking at? |

Hmm, I for appreciate the feedback. That plus the current reported turn around time for orders will save me money and heartache. Thanks guys.
Anyone have any feedback on Angry Nomad Cuctoms? I've seen some good feedback, but it was pretty old. Anyone order from him recently? I did finally mange to take pics of all my heads for you. |

It could just be the figure (I've had those Hulks boxed up almost from the day I bought them since they are so awful) but his legs just look super short. Like chunks were cut out of them to shrink his height. Not sure where mine are at the moment or I'd go look.

While we're on the subject of Vort bashing, my Ant Man helmet had a lot of excess plastic and the antennas snapped.

Just to share the same opinion about vortious. Heads are great but the legs I received specially one one of the pairs was really bad. The starlord mask is also poor I ripped it and I cannot use it.
I will not buy body parts from him again or accessories. |

Awesome work by the way, what do you use to sculpt? I haven't been happy with the workability, or durability of anything I've found. Last edited by kylactus; 06-09-2016 at 07:20 PM.. |

I'm right there with you on Vort. And man that Superior Spidey might be my favorite thing you've ever done. Brilliant.

Vort is the only game in town really. The heads are good, they just usually require a bit of trimming/sanding excess plastic.
Did you guys see the new legends 6" falcon? Same accessories, same cost as our 3.75" version. Also picked up a modek from the Disney store for $5 today on clearance. |
