My 2 cents: when Hasbro declares 5 billions, there some Nerf, some Ponies, some Yokai Watch, and some royalties from the Transformers movies as well.

Not to simply jump in a long in the tooth argument but well....screw it... I remember a recession back (probably @2008 timeline) when the 3.75" scale had a grand resurgence and the same arguments were being made about the 6" line being an economic drag for Hasbro and I wanted to chuckle except then I read an article in some online newspaper (I don't remember if it was an ABCNews, USAToday, WSJ but it was something not entirely laughable) before the advent of 20,000+ fake newsites and lo and behold, it looked to be true. It was going over the price of oil skyrocketing and the correlation between it and packaging, manufacturing and shipping costs. Basically all went up dramatically and thus the smaller figures (this was one of a few items it referred to but it was centered around the toy industry) would use less resources and could be shipped in larger numbers for less. As such the cost for the 3.75" figs went up but not in enough range to kill interest while the 6" and above had to be dramatically scaled back to keep costs from spiraling out of control. Thus the argument was made that when the economy, particularly driven by the stock market and oil markets, is high, you will see an increase in the 6", 12" and other large scales with the smaller scales ramped down. When the next recession hits you will see a resurgence in smaller scales as the economy dictates. So for all the folks on the 3.75"-4" figure jones just hope for another economic crash :P Then you will be in 3.75" golden times. It was part of an overall series of articles, ala Freakenomics, explaining US Economy impacts to toys, music (when hard rock/rap is more popular vs Pop music apparently is also tied to economic stability, go figure), and a host of interesting items.

Thanks! Even with all my bitching about her I still undersold how much effort went into putting that head together. It's a lot of time and a lot of work making these. Luckily I do enjoy making them. It's just fun. (Except for Scalphunter, eff that custom and his stupid ass costume!) It's really not easy designing figures, which is why I tend to give Hasbro slack in a lot of what they put out (except for that GotG BS) since I don't have to contend with budgets, bean counters, retailers, overseas factories, time constraints and fickle fans. I just don't buy what I don't like. Seems easier... Quote: What is this Colossus you speak of? Not just you, I like it and am looking forward to it. Anyone know what a potential price point may be? Just picked up the Doctor Strange Blu-ray and I'm looking forward to watching it later this evening. Now if I could just get my hands on that two-pack... |

My Dr. Strange Steelbook arrived today. Paid more than I would have liked but I'm a sucker for steelbooks, loved the movie, and primarily only buy Marvel films on physical media anymore so I bit the bullet and opened up the wallet. Hopefully I can watch it before the weekend.

^ I always wanted a 3.75" Rachel McAdams. LOL. Need to find a pic on the web... 'kay, this is the Colossus I'm talking about: https://colossuscollection.files.wor...-packaging.jpg He is built like a statue with gimmick arms that launch upwards to throw wolverine, but I love that headsculpt. The head is ever so slightly too big for the MU body scale wise, but I like it that way for some reason. |

Nah, that sculpt and design is pretty awesome... if it had decent articulation that would have been my default Colossus... always was partial to the bare chested Colossus design though.

Why not resell it on Ebay or something? Why waste a perfectly good figure?

Guardians and Strange 2 packs are at Hasbro Toy Shop and bbts. You guys probably already know that, though. That Thanos is perfect. I'll be getting him.

Random thought here: Since they're giving us solid torsos, why not do a variant like THIS? I mean, if the spider armor can get a figure...

				 | Quote: I like that custom Mystique, but Jennifer Lawrence made me not like that character anymore. LOL. And I found the X-men Origins Astonishing Wolverine and Gimmick Colossus 2 pack at a local collector show for only 5 bucks. I mostly bought it for the unmasked cowl accessory that Wolverine has and for the Gimmick Colossus's headsculpt. I love that headsculpt... I kitbashed it on my MU Colossus and I love my Colossus so much more now with the new head. Also gave Gimmick Colossus's X-belt accessory to my MU Bishop.
