Thanks. Not bad. But it was 6" and he didn't talk at all about brush type, prep, and how to apply paint to brush. Seems he just had a glob on there.
I feel like 4" eyes are super tough to get right. I've done one set of eyes and it took me a couple hours of retries to get something I was happy with. There should be an easier way than tiny fiddly brushes. Like a pen or some kind of stamp. |

Those ideas I shared are pretty unconventional and I haven't used them on a figure but have used similar ideas for other projects in my career.
Always think outside the box and create your own solutions. If the technique is hard find one that isn't. There're many ways to skin a cat.

Lastly..... Don't just "go for it" on your figure. Practice it in paper then a junk McDonald's figure or an old potato. Doesn't matter WHAT you practise on, just that you did it 30-100 times before you do it to your figure. Build your skills and your confidence first.

I always use a thumbtack barely dipped in the paint, and possibly with some of the paint wiped off if it's too much. It takes multiple tries, and I've never done it with both an iris and a pupil(I always just do a pupil, but I'm gonna try upgrading next time), but that's my method. It's a very slow and very careful process, though, and you've gotta try and keep your hands as steady as possible.

That what I was saying, if you "fix" the brush to something then bring the figure to it and move the figure instead of the brush.... Shaking is not an issue at all. Michael J. Fox could paint them with that method.

This time i use a thin toothpick end and dip gently in yo the desired colour and gently press in the eye. Harder if you want a bigger pupil. After reading this back it sounds lile a fifty shades of grey page with all thos dipping gently hahaa |

Easily the hardest thing for me. I can never get eyes right when I'm painting up a figure. It's the one thing I'm always unhappy with no matter how many times I redo it when I'm done.

![]() This is the best pic I could find in my Imgur, the sealer was still wet when I took this pic and it is by no means perfect, but this is the typical approach I take on eyes. First paint the eye white, then paint a pupil, then paint a thin eyelid. I did not put the eyelids on when I started making customs and they all looked like a deer in headlights, lol. Also UKMU is right you should always practice first, but my patience always gets the best of me and I usually just go for it |

I use micropens for the lashes and pupils. As for the whites of the eyes, I usually just get to eye covered and I clean it up by making a few passes with whatever skin tone I'm using on the figure. I realize not everyone paints the skin, however.

May I just put forth a small theory?
Maybe the reason they can crap on this line so much is because the only ones who ever complain seem to be only on forums? Seriously, who is the collector's voice at SDCC? Who always reports the news of this stuff on YouTube(when they can notice it)? It's always people with a 6 inch bias. They're the ones who have the power to vocalize complaints, but Hasbro waves their 26 shiny keys in their faces, and they skip to the questions about female elbows. I think if we want to actually influence the industry in any small way, we need to get YouTube vocal. We need to take what we talk about here into a more noticeable format, and hope we're good enough to get the message heard. Now, many of you probably already have a YouTube account of some kind, and post what you will on there, but a consensus of complaints can't be gathered if no one's around to put them out there. i think it might be that a lot of 3.75 collectors just dont have the money to spend on the line nor do they want to support it outside of personal financial gain. where the legends community actually works as a community on all fronts. |

I'm actually gonna probably get two of that Mysterio. One for my 6" collection but more awesomely one for my 3.75" display to look like a giant illusion Mysterio like from the Spider-Man game back in 2000 (2001 on the Dreamcast).

This was already discussed months ago.

I was amazed yesterday I made sure to get to TRU first thing in the morning... walked in at 10:01 am, straight to the marvel aisle and BOOM! Another 3.75" collector and his little kid had the ragnarok 2 pack box already open I was like fek! Fortunately he just grabbed 1 of each and I got one of each too. Actually it was fun to BS about the state of the line, guy was pretty cool. Competition is FIERCE in my area lol |
