Thanks bro. Things are improving with the new year.
Happy to see people creating! i've been working on a few Marvelous Joes to post but got sidetracked with some recent purchases. Among the latter is the new Aliens line from Lanard. i missed Hiya's Alien line but was able to pick up a few of their Colonial Marines. Lanard's yellow mechs make for AIM armors. The Aliens themselves look good but Lanard's Colonial Marines are very 5 PoA Chap Mei. i'll try to post some comparo pics in the MU Compatibility Thread. ![]() The Domez jacket Carol head technically "works", it's just that the face is a bit large in person. Luckily you can boil a pop the hair of a modify the forehead and cranium to be smaller. The issue though is that once it does seem natural, the hairline makes her look more like Vancamp than Larson. Decided to fix this by making her face "pop" with peach colored paint and darkening her eyebrows with brown paint to make her expression more defined. Sanded the heck out of her legs, doing a better job this time making the legs look natural compared to mt HM Spidey. Will cover Thor in another post. |

Nice. I'll return the favor showing off my Thors. As you can tell I prefer the helmet-less look, influenced by Ultimate Thor growing up. With that said, still like the classic design, just later ones like Heroic age (with the exception of your figure) didn't really do it for me.
Swapped the heads after seeing someone do it in the old thread. http://www.toyark.com/marvel-3-75-ap...4214-page1044/ My actual custom is admittedly a hackjob, but my best hackjob and is technically a WIP. Super/hot glued a 3.75 The hobbit "Kili" hair piece with a BnB WWE hair piece for the rubber beard and ended up with my somewhat "Endgame" esque Thor head using the IW figurine as the base. Best likeness to Hemsworth at this scale, hands down. Used the Heroic age Thor mold, replaced the Ball joint for a Movie hinge joint, and gave him enough length from the figurine neck to have the right amount of clearance to do flight and looking down poses. Plus a pic of him confirming that he "likes this one". Also, got the new Hulk in the mail. Not as articulated as I like, but is stable (it's currently on a high shelf) and comes with a pefect accessory that leads to the next figure. Have to say, of all the Toybox figures, this is the one to get for 1:18 scale collection. Aside from the legs the proportions of the figure is decent and is pretty articulated for typical bulk characters at this scale. The Hulk Nano-gaunlet also fits. Will update tomorrow since I'm painting my Peter head. Last edited by Agemo; 01-04-2020 at 12:17 AM.. |

I'll be honest, I kick myself sometimes for not getting more into the comics but I never find the time.

I should have listened to you. They are worse than garbage. They're not even 3.75" despite what the box says! HULK IS SHORTER THAN MOST OF MY FIGURES IN THIS SCALE ASUDFHUO:
Screw you, Hasblo

I kinda had a feeling they aren't really 3.75 even after asking the seller. was so close to buying the set mostly for ironman. glad I didn't now. how tall are they, 3 inches?

For my fellow Mattel collectors, I found a set of the MOTU/WWE set online. There is one complete set plus the ring and the exclusives for $240 on ebay. Comes with Ghostbusters Undertaker and #100 Gamer John Cena too. Are they even at retail now?

Found a Ohio based store with several Hyper Motions Disk War Spider-man in stock.
Size comparisons seem to suggest that he is about as tall as the Avengers Movie Captain America, which means he is shorter than the up-scaled male MU molds with the ankle pivot. Felt it would make a good Ultimate Spider-Man, and my search for review made me stumble upon these customs of Spider-Men from Japanese hobbyists. Makes me really jealous, but their "1:18 scale" culture is arguably in better shape than ours due to the popularity of candy toys of model skits and figures of Kamen Rider. https://twitter.com/babi_musou/statu...82860297994240 食玩改é€*:スパイダームžãƒ³ - 模型 https://twitter.com/holecat_tw/statu...11336456310784 https://twitter.com/arubok1230/statu...10237054640129 factory Plus, Marvel Toys are alot more scarce there obviously, so there is higher demand for customs. |

We're getting a whole new line of 4" DC stuff(Spin Master), on top of the ongoing Hiya Injustice stuff. This is largely because the license was split, AFAIK.
So there's obviously demand for 1/18th stuff. The problem was Hasbro and Mattel. The minute the license gets away from Hasbro we might have a chance, whenever that ends up being. Which is ironic since Habsro are known for their 1/18th stuff classically.

it's absolutely wild how Star Wars and GI Joe bit it too. At least Legends is sort of a Legacy 6" thing but not many people collecting were alive to remember any Joes bigger than 1/18th and Star Wars has always been that scale, AFAIK, which makes sense since it's good for vehicles and playsets.
It just proves that it's absolutely some crappy ideologue preference with not much regard for what people really want. Some people will defend businesses as just responding to the market as if they're hyper logical naturally occurring entities but that's BS. Hasbro pretty much forced us to switch to 1/18th back when they bought the License as it was the 6" ones that had a drop in quality and frequency of release. Their modern 6 inchers are very good but the price is ridiculous. Wages & welfare(since we're still in a recession don't forget) have stagnated and yet we're paying at least twice as much for a similar quality of product as we did under Toybiz. Granted Toybiz MLs haven't aged quite as well in retrospect(with some exceptions, and the later ones were generally pretty great) but they did have a style and character(and generally more detail/blackwashing and stuff) a lot of the modern ones lack.
