I sold a few bits on eBay recently and so had a bit of money to play with, I decided to finally get..... Aragorn and Valinor from Bossfight! They look incredible, one of the pegs on Aragorn's wings broke but it still holds okay. I don't really care about Black Knight or Valkyrie, Black Knight is only in my collection on the basis of a brief cameo in A:EMH (I hope he does a bit more in Eternals), but happy to have an excuse to add a couple of non-humanoid characters to my collection. Not living in the US make these incredibly expensive to get - with the extra horse and male blank it was US$340 (including shipping to Europe and customs).

				 | Quote: Does anyone have any recommendations for how to paint joints on custom figures? like sometimes the paint sticks, other times it just peels straight off. The success rate of painting it disassembled vs. fully assembled doesn't differ much either. I normally use Games Workshop sealant, which can work okayish. More recently I was using various varinishes from art shops which can look nice but work really badly for protecting from this sort of stuff.

I'd go with sanding the bits that are going to rub a little bit, painting and then sealing.

This is going to take a while and would be better if i made a tutorial. My method to customizing while maintaining a factory standard begins with disassembling the figure with a sharp pair of snipers as on most Marvel Universe figures they have visual seems that are located on male and female bodies that when cracked open need to be sanded down in the most problematic spots such as the hip, knee, elbow, and shoulder joints. There will be different situations for different bodies and i always base coat my figures in black acrylic paint by hand no airbrush for me. Tools used dremel, acetone, and 320 sandpaper.PM me for any questions if i can help as always. I completely break down and sand every figure that i make. The process is lengthy but worth every second with no paint rub. Executioner for example |

I contacted Boss Fight & they sent me a replacement. Which side was it? I don't know how much it would cost to send. Maybe $15 not sure if it is worth it then. |

Savage Land style (Jurassic World) toys are appearing at the discount stores. What dinos are you seeing at Marshalls, TJMax, DD's, etc? |

More recently I was using various varinishes from art shops which can look nice but work really badly for protecting from this sort of stuff. Next, use serious primer- I use Duplucolor Automotive Spray paint for Vinyl and Plastic. That's the best stuff ever- works on everything- even rubberized stuff like capes and webgear AND it's under $10 for a big can! Ideally, use Duplucolor in the color of your figure's basecoat- black, wehite, red etc. When you put your figure back together, the added paint will keep the joints tight, though you can coat them with some Future clear acrylic to protect them further from rub. I do that if it's a bicep-swivel. Then just paint it up and seal it.

I usually sand down a joint if I can or use a dremmel if I need to. I take the joint down enough that it won’t rub with the new paint on it. The dremmel is rounded and only really gets the center of the joint so Sometimes I’ll use a razor blade to get the edgesIf there is enough room I brush a little superglue over the dried paint inside the joint too, this gives it a hard shell and keeps it from rubbing off.
