Just use a girl torso. I'm using a Jyn Erso for Mantis' torso and Bucky everything else. Star Wars has many characters like Ysanne Isard are great for parts. I've seen Isard's head repainted for Blink too...

Not yet... BTW, those have all had magnets added to them, so any shield can be swapped onto any figure that would normally carry a shield. I have a couple of special spots for the Punisher shield. |

Finally finished up my Punisher Van side project. There's lots of pics but I tried to spread them out. This is what I wanted the Rattler intake covers for and why I was going to do a video. I still might try a video project later. Maybe next time I'm ready to do an update on the shelves. Anyway, onto the van... |

The Punisher's Van - the Kill Crew's ride I took a break from making figures to focus on putting together this van. This project is the first real custom vehicle for Marvel Universe. I don't count the Widow bike or Kang's Time Chair. For the most part, those were simply paint jobs. Punisher's van is a full-on custom. It's also one of the few "accessories" to the hero that has taken on a life of it's own. The van even got a Marvel Trading card! Had to make sure it was street legal. Frank's too smart to get pinched by not having a tagged up ride - painted on the appropriate window stickers for NY State. Also why I skipped adding bullet holes. A shot up vehicle is going to get noticed, even in NYC. I had about 10% of this van pre-planned at the start. I knew that I wanted to have a gurney fit inside and a gatling gun at the side door. If I could find the right van, somehow I'd find a way to make both of those ideas work. Beyond that, it was whatever came to mind. I did a fair bit of research before deciding on which van to use. Despite a number of folks in reviews saying the A-Team van was too large, I went with it anyway. It's the only van that looks like a simple van which was one of my primary requirements to even begin this project. It was still a gamble since it cost over $100 to get an item that I was intent on destroying, but I bit the bullet and forked out the cash. Once I got going I wanted working rear doors which cutting them off the top mold and adding hinges and putting them back on so they're functional and secure. They can use a bit more filling and smoothing. I'll do that another day. These vans aren't easy to come by these days, in package or out. Scale-wise the van itself is perfectly scaled. The only real problem area is the front interior: The dashboard is a bit too big and the chairs are WAY too far back. If the dash was a little lower and the chairs moved forward it'd be perfect. Regardless, it's a great van base for a MU vehicle. Continued... Last edited by Mordiganne; 11-10-2020 at 06:22 PM.. |

Once the van arrived the first thing I did was give it a once over to check the dimensions visually. Once I was sure it would satisfy my two customizing requirements I set about ripping the van apart. Once I got it separated I was able to get the halves apart without cutting any of the wires. I was considering keeping the electronics at first, but as I went along I kept discarding every idea that necessitated keeping them until it finally got to point where taking all that shit out was the way to go. From there I set to work on the top and bottom separately. The balsa wood above the winch is removable but screwed in currently. I wanted to be able to get into the van's interior easily so I started adding more magnets so I could pull it apart whenever I wanted. And then I realized the two halves stay together just fine on their own. So I could do that without using up more magnets. I also needed to be able to get to the lights (more on them below): I had pics of the plate and tow hook partly extended but doesn't look like it saved and I'm not photoshopping it together again right now. Interior roof & detailed pics Once I got the insides mostly set, I saw a pic of Punisher riding a motorcycle out from inside of the van. Obviously that's completely ridiculous, but I liked the idea of carrying a motorcycle inside the van. So I'd checked if I had a bike that would fit, and hot damn I did! So I added that in as a feature. Eventually I'll make a ramp for loading. I'm going to skip a bunch of the other "I did this too and it sucked" details and move onto the lights. I saw a youtube video by 70humbler that has some light features that I thought were a neat idea. So I copped that and set about adding lights to the van. There's interior and headlights. I can't think of a good way to add rear lights...yet. Continued... Last edited by Mordiganne; 11-10-2020 at 06:42 PM.. |

				 | Quote: Yeah, they're pretty hard to find. They weren't common at release and dried up quick. I got the few cases I have in a trade years ago. I wonder if that figure has become easier to find or not. Last edited by Mordiganne; 11-11-2020 at 09:14 AM.. |
