Agreed. I've yet to see a non-BAF Toy Biz Marvel Legends that I would actually want in my collection. They might be well painted and accessorized but that's lipstick on a pig to me.

Some of them are pretty good. First Appearance Iron Man is nice.

Some are ok. First Appearance Iron Man is one where their bizarre proportions and ugly articulation don't hinder the figure too much. I've nearly bought series VIII Storm too but then I look at how weirdly proportioned her shoulders are and I just can't bring myself to despite really wanting that costume.

Yeah, for me (who didn't get into Legends until well into Hasbro's current time with the line), the only ToyBiz figures for whom it might be worth it to go out of my way go get are ones for whom ToyBiz's anatomy problems don't really make worse, like ones who aren't supposed to be like normal humans anatomically.

I'm kind of regretting picking up the variant Bishop. I feel like Bishop is supposed to have hair and a red bandana.

This picture!
Thank you!

No Old Man Logan at all for you, or will you be holding off on him until they put him up for clearance?

Love Storm, but that figure was out of my collection the minute I got the Hasbro version. Even not having the Hasbro version, I would still advise against buying the series VIII because of the extreme scale difference (if your collection is mainly comprised of Hasbro figures). Her face is about the size of a Bucky Cap fist.

And concerning the Hasbro vs ToyBiz "discussion"... just a couple of things to fan the flames:
It's been a while. Nobody took anything from anybody. If you don't like it, be it old or new, I'm fine with it. Iconic is very relative. Sculpt is an art form few master, while drybrushing and ink washes can be done by a monkey's @$$ (yes, I am referring to myself). Not keeping up with current comics kind of disqualifies someone from having a thoughtful opinion about these comics. I would like to be convinced by the merits of certain figures instead of dumping on others.

Also, as soon as I got my Darkhawk out of package I broke his left arm off. *&^%$#@!
I always give every joint with even minimal resistance a once over with the hair-dryer, but this just fell off at the very first glance.
Found a very helpful tutorial and proceeded to crack open the chest to replace the broken disc with a screw. Worked like a charm!
I can't spot any damage and the arm works really well.
I'm still not convinced by the way they did his wings, but with Falcon Cap in mind, I am content.

And to anyone on the fence about Angela: Wow! This is one great figure!
The simple addition of the roll of the dice wrist gives her so much dynamic posing possibilities! Those two space-sheep-shearing tools are not my cup of tea, but the way she wields and stores her sword is just right.

Kid Nova was severely stuck at every joint, but fortunately no damage there.
I'm glad I got to complete Kamala, Miles and Sam in such a short span of time. On to the next ANAD/Champion!

Yep, once I was able to get Marvel Now Storm I gave up thinking about the TB version.

Well said. I don't like the TB figures, so I don't buy them. I'm going to disagree with anyone who says TB are superior to Hasbro, but I can respect their opinion.
Couldn't agree more about the comics either, I see a distressing number of people trashing what Marvel are doing now who when you press them haven't read any of the comics. They just seem to dislike the idea of them which is not something I can respect.

Which Champion would you like to see next? Personally I'd like Viv, but I wouldn't complain if it were Cho either.

Damn, I guess this is a Hasbro fan fort.

This is the first place I've come across where anyone prefers Hasbro over Toybiz.

Oh definitely Viv for me as well! I hope they refrain from rushing her though!
But boy, they'd better hurry up on another front now that those teenage molds are here! Because if they finally release the New Mutants and there is mold degradation all over the place because they have made every other conceivable teenage character before them ... I might mumble angrily to myself some more.

They're the only people who make Legends anymore, it's not like we have a real choice. The only other company that makes affordable Marvel figures is Diamond and they only release a small trickle which has limited articulation in favor of detail. This thread would not have made it anywhere close to 1000 pages if it was just reminiscing about the ol' days. Hasbro has proven they can be complete asses time after time but as long as the products are good we mostly assume the "it's out of our hands" position about the bad parts because they don't listen to us anyways.

I wouldn't characterise myself as a Hasbro fan. Though I do collect more toylines they produce than any other individual company, now that I think about it. But they have those licenses (or own Transformers outright) so I don't have much of a choice. If another company took over the Marvel Legends or The Black Series 6" line and produced figures of an equal or superior standard I'd buy those, Hasbro be damned.
Nothing would please me more than to be able to integrate TB Marvel Legends into my collection, there are a lot of characters I want that they produced that Hasbro haven't yet. But I genuinely do not like how 99% of the figures look. Their BAFs, are, as others have noted, completely amazing and I'm intending to get MODOK and a Sentinel at the very least eventually.

I think they could do a good Viv with parts from the upcoming Mary Jane, the tooled jeans legs if nothing else. I would hope they would tool the lines on her face and arms rather than painting them on though, so yes I hope they don't rush that part of her.

This is like one of the very few times in which I like the non iconic/classic look better... bald and sleek Bishop looks bada** IMO.

They should be around now.... everyone on here that lives in the middle of the country and the west coast has been finding them everywhere. Hell i caught a box of them here in south florida and it's usually bad here when it comes to new legends.

As far as being a hasbro fan, yea... i came into collecting these figures in 2014 around the same time i got back into collecting comics. Personally i feel hasbro makes good quality figures and eye pleasing figures.

I hear you. I would say even though I collected Toybiz the last two years they produced the line(and bought plenty of back figures as well) for the most part I like the Hasbro ones better. Though I am quite happy to have a figure of the characters at all, until Hasbro produces them. It's better than nothing.

The BAF are a completely different story. Aside from Hulkbuster the BAFs from Toybiz wipe the floor with Hasbro's BAF. HB is just as good as any but the best BAF Toybiz put out (Apocalypse and Sentinel). I know this is going to sound weird as they are all toys, but Hasbro's BAFs seem to be much more toy-like than Toybiz's, which for the most part seem more like statues with articulation, the detail is just amazing on them.

Too bad we can't have the best of both worlds!

Frankly, I'm surprised people still prefer Toybiz's Legends. They're lanky, they're misproportionate, their hands are huge, a lot of them have balls for thighs instead of actual thighs, taking away from the illusion that they are a character, and some of their feet are huge.

Yes, without TB we would not have the amount of articulation in our toys we do today, but that doesn't mean I just have to like their stuff over Hasbro's. It's called evolution.

Brickseek had the number of X-Men at my Local Target go from 3 to 11......obviously a new wave came in. Went in, asked the employee to see if they had more X-Men (there weren't any on the shelves at all) and he said there weren't anymore but he was gonna check the stockroom. Of course, I walked through the aisle and see a fresh, unopened case sitting there. I take it to him and ask if I could have two figures from there, and picked up OML and Colossus, the last figures I needed from the wave. This wave has been surprisingly easy to find at retail. Brickseek has been an excellent resource.

Regarding TB vs Hasbro, TB is far superior when it comes to detail and paint work, but Hasbro is far superior when it comes to the overall silhouette and proportions of the figure. The thing that knocks ToyBiz though is that paint is something that can be overlooked moreso than bad proportions, so while Hasbro figures aren't insanely detailed when it comes to paint, they still at least look like a human being. Meanwhile.....ToyBiz gave us that awful Black Cat lol.

Don't get me wrong, many of the ToyBiz figures are still far superior to what Hasbro is putting out, but their duds are really, really bad. Hasbro's "bad" figures from recent years are still mostly decent enough because of all the part reuse, and the parts they reuse are generally pretty good.

Guys i've been having trouble with the brickseek site.. the sku number kain gave me works fine, however whenever i try to enter in the new guardians wave it just doesn't work...

As dumb as it sounds can someone snap a photo of the sku number on the box ? I was always under the impression it was located on the UPC of the box.

I like both Hasbro and Toy Biz figs but has there ever been a new figure that wasn't built better/looks better than an older figure. Mego 8" is about the only thing that comes to my mind. Technology and improved products will always make the new figures look better.

Well, I'm definitely eating my words. The Colossus Hasbro chose to put out is definitely not the design I would have wanted (classic FTW), but this figure is really growing on me and I love the bearded head. He may just be the go-to Colossus for my collection, since he sizes better with Legends than the Select, obviously.

I think what threw me off about the look of this figure is the random black patch in the middle of his torso, I think the design would be much better without that there, but it's not the figure's fault.

As an older aged collector i have to say when toy biz legends came out they were it, nothing was ever done on that scale with marvel characters, and you gotta agree their BAF's rule.

So, barring a surprise reveal, based on everything we've heard from retailers it's pretty safe to say we know what's coming out for the rest of 2017. 7 waves (Sandman, Titus, Warlock, Netflix, Mantis, Vulture, Ragnarok) plus a handful of 2 packs and exclusives.

What do you think we'll see in 2018?

My guesses
-X-men Wave. Some combo of Psylocke, Nightcrawler, Gambit, Storm, Jubilee. BAF Apocalypse or Sauron.
-3 avengers wave. Given the huge cast of infinity War, I wouldn't put it past one of these waves being all movie characters (Iron Man, Cap, Spidey, Star Lord, Hulk, Thor, Vision, MCU Thanos). Also guessing that we'll finally get MCU vision.
-Antman Wave. I feel like there's a possibility they'd skip this due to how long the first wave lingered at retail (still finding wasps), but it was definitely a useful wave to give us figures that didn't quite fit in other waves. If it's made, Movie Antman and Wasp, and then rest of slots will be misc characters we've been missing (crossbones etc)
-Black Panther wave. Only 1 wave as has been standard with Non-Sequels and not as mainstream characters. BAF Man Ape.
-Spiderman Wave. These have been pretty constant , but I can't for the life of me think of a recognizable Spider-Man they could use to anchor it, and given the high volume of Spidey figures we're getting in 2017 (Movie+2 packs), I doubt they'd try to do an improved basic spider-man. Hopefully we finally get a doc ock
-Guardians Wave. Given the popularity of the movie and the cartoon, and the far larger depth of characters, I could see this becoming a spider-man style "No film tie-in needed" line.
