It was a (relatively) brief comedic summary (presumably by Deadpool) of the book The Old Man and the Sea at the end of the new Deadpool 2 teaser.

Has anyone noticed this "running change" on the Marvel Legends Shocker figure?
He was originally shipped blank, but is now being shipped with a gold lightning bolt in a circle on his lower torso. I saw two of these today at a local Walmart, so I purchased one since I didn't have him yet. His "born on date" is 63541. |

I actually have read The Old Man and the Sea so I thought that it was a pretty damn funny analysis of the story, like Wade's version of a book-report. Though I suppose previously reading the story isn't needed to find the humor in the trailer's write-up.

![]() Shot of my completed BAF collection. ![]() Also picked up these two today while at my local comic shop with my wife. The face sculpt on Yondu looks exactly like Michael Rooker. I'm not too knowledgeable about Angela, but she's an amazing figure in hand. I didn't plan on adding Titus to the collection, but the wife gave me the 👍 |

^ Michael Rooker is one of my all-time fav actors (mostly cause of Days of Thunder, lol), so I'm so glad he found his way into the MCU... and as cool character too.

I knew him as good ole Merle Dixon first before I went back and watched Days of Thunder. He's had a resurrection lately for sure.

If you only remember Rooker from Days of Thunder or The Walking Dead...you're missing out. He's been in a ton of great stuff.
"Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" and "Mallrats" ("Would you like a chocolate covered pretzel?") are probably my fave Rooker flicks. He was great in a bit part in "Super" as well, which is an amazing movie in it's own right... |

Originating from Image comics' Spawn she was an assassin from Heaven and a demon hunter who specialized in killing Hellspawn. She was a sorta anti-hero at first to Spawn since per her occupation she was meant to kill Spawn but took a liking to him instead, eventually they were straight up allies and friends with a relation sorta like the one between Batman and Catwoman. She was killed by Malebolgia when the two went to destroy him but Spawn avenged her by decapitating him with her sword. In Marvel when she was first brought over they kept on making small little nods to her origins in Spawn and used something like amnesia to explain why she couldn't exactly remember everything. She mainly just kicked evil alien ass with the Guardians of the Galaxy (hence her inclusion in this wave) until the bosses at Marvel decided the character wasn't performing to their liking on her own merits and decided to boost her "importance" by retconning her into a soap-opera relation as Thor's long lost sister. Power wise she's not a real heavy-hitter but she's not to be taken lightly, she's a solid flying brick. I think she might have been given more powers since her retcon but I can't say too clearly what those would be since I haven't read any of that stuff.

She's noted as being only slightly less strong than Thor and has all the strengths of a child of Odin, so it sounds like she had a fairly hefty upgrade in power since her retcon. It may have been a bit soap operaesque but Angela: Asgard's Assassin and Angela: Queen of Hel were some of the best books I've read from Marvel in the past couple of years so I'd say its worked out for the best.

Walked into Target today and snagged Darkhawk and Nova. The Targets around here all seem to be putting the new GotG and X waves on an end cap.

As requested. I really wanted to compare her against Thundra but I cannot find my Thundra figure at the moment. Sorry the shots are not the best. My area where I take photos is torn up at the moment. Last edited by Kirathis; 03-05-2017 at 08:13 AM.. |

With the old GOTG wave showing up at Targets, my wife and I have been giving the Richard Rider Nova a second look (mostly because this is the first time we've seen him at multiple stores, rather than a one-off sighting years ago). I have no real attachment to him as a character (more of a Sam fan), but the figure looks pretty nice. Anyone who has him got anything to say about him, positive or negative? He's $23, so I wanna make sure he's worth the money before grabbing him.
In other news, a combination of sales and coupons got me MCU Mordo at TRU yesterday for $7, so I'm only waiting on Dormammu's arm to come in before I finish him. Incidentally, anyone want a Mordo (minus BAF parts)? ![]() EDIT: Just noticed the post, Kirathis. Thanks for the comparison shots! I see what you mean about the height, but she might still be worth getting (unless Hasbro actually confirms an armored 6" Gamora).

I have nova and i have to say hes a really great fig. The scuplt is great, the artic is tops, and he looks great next to toybiz captain marvels and even captain ms warbird marvel. If ya got a chance, and while i think targets price hike is ludicrous, get him.

^ That old wave Nova is kinda short though IMO... and he's also kinda bluish... always thought Nova was dark black like the MU fig.
And whohoo! I got Shatterstar from Target this morning. I saw someone walking away with a ML fig, but couldn't tell which one except it had an X on the top... probably Logan. But when I got there Sunfire and Shatterstar was still on the pegs... heck yeah. Can't believe people are leaving behind Shatterstar... does nobody remember X-force #1? My friend bought 13 copies of that issue when it came out. LOL. |

While the Nova isn't right color we now have 2 New Warriors. I hope they can get Night Thrasher, Firestar and Speedball into a Spider-Man waves and maybe Rage into Avengers.

He was sometimes blue, especially in Annihilation. Hell in Annihilation it was just blue, nothing dark about it. His height is also fine, he is a little shorter than most other male figures but Rich was never really depicted as tall.

Select Gamora's height isn't as much of an issue alongside other Legends figures as other figures in the line, she's augmented so I always thought of her as a forehead length taller than the average person anyway. Meanwhile Rocket is the perfect size for fitting in with the Legends collection. ![]() ![]() |

Could not possibly agree more, they were hidden gems. I keep trying to get people to read them, and so far no one has taken any interest. Which is a shame, it's a great story arc by a very clever writer.

Marvel Legends 40% off w/ card @ Walgreens. 3/5 - 3/11
Some folks are reporting that this does not include the new GOTG wave, though. Try your luck! |

You know what's sad? I work there and it's the first I'm hearing of this lol. Unfortunately, not any Legends I'm really looking for at WG's unless I see Spidey UK and/or Spider 2099 there.
