Man-thing launched in may 71 and swap thing in July 71. The guys working on the titles were roommates at the time so... hard to say. They are both inspired by something called the Heap apparently. There is some fun comic history out there about it

Yes while Man-Thing came out before Swamp-Thing both are derivative of the Heap, a character dating back to 1942. Thankfully Man-Thing and Swamp-Thing went on very different character paths so beyond being swamp monsters they don't share much in common.

Finally got myself a Dazzler after lots of hunting. Received a nice tipoff from a member of another forum. I got the last one!

I definitely have gripes with her, she's not as cool as I thought she would be. But I still like her, and am glad to have her.

Strangely enough, this is my first X-Men figure. Technically I have a Sentinel and a Deadpool statue, but those don't count IMO. I'm definitely planning to get more, but it's hard to find what I like since I prefer movie style most of the time.

Now to find Cyclops and Colossus...

Yeah she has like 3 personalities, Typhoid, Mary, and another one plus in one story Kingpin had discovered a 4th one he controlled.

Same here, mainly due to the old movies. I don't know much about Man-Thing, but I should have known that wasn't Swamp Thing. The previous post kind of threw me off.

Picked up Dormammu Iron Fist, and Space Venom Hobgoblin today after some trading at my local comic shop. Looks like I've started two more BAF's.

This figure seems to take it's concept designs from more modern J. Scott Campbell illustrations of MJ. She's got bangs, just not the classic fringe bangs.

That new ML Mary Jane is nice... think I prefer the ML Netflix Jessice Jones more though.

For me it is the opposite... Starlord is the only fig that comes to mind in which I like the movie costume more than the comic costume... and that is mostly due to Chris Pratt. And like 90 percent of the time I prefer their late 80's/early 90's comic costume the best instead of their current/modern costume.

Heh, to those who said Toy Biz did horrible female figures....this proves they could do good ones.

Regarding Mary Jane, I hope for some closeups soon too, I can't tell if the figure is really detailed or not. Paint apps may make or break the purchase for me.

They def had good and bad female figures. I liked mystique and psylocke, but black widow and spider woman were terrible

Question for everyone here.

When was ankle pivot articulation introduced to Marvel Legends?

I remember some toy Biz movie Spiderman figures had slight side-to-side, but not like today. If my memory serves, it wasn't featured on most figures during their run.

The modern style (front-to-back hinge on bottom of shin with horizontal/slightly diagonal pin onto which foot is attached) wasn't introduced until the Return of Marvel Legends, I don't think, but there's been some form of ankle articulation from the beginning; usualy, it was done in more of a "front-to-back hinge on the bottom of the shin with a horizontal bar attached on the bottom that the foot is placed on" during the ToyBiz daty, which of course doesn't give as much range; some figures didn't even have that, instead only having the forward-to-back hinge. During the early Hasbro days, they gave a lot of figures ankle articulation by putting a forward-to-back hinge on top of the foot, and a peg on top to attach into the shin, which gave no ankle pivot.

Sorry if my explanations are insufficient, I have no better way to describe the different types of ankle articulation.

Went to a another target today, while i was out at a huge outlet mall searching for new sneakers for work, anywho i walked into target right to the toy isle, and they had damn near the whole first GOTG wave. i was tempted at picking up space iron man, and the first verison of starlord with the long trench coat, however due to me spending 100 bucks about 30 mins prior, i decided to hold on on them til my next hunt.....

My bad, I forgot to type the word "pivot". What I meant was when ankle pivot was introduced.

I believe Bucky Cap was the first figure to have ankle pivot. However, this wasn't standard on all figures until the Hit Monkey BAF wave.
