I know for a fact I'm going to get the Toybiz Colossus. I feel like Hasbro is trying to help us complete our Giant Size X-Men, however, I don't see them releasing another Colossus next year after they already gave us one earlier this year.

I thought about that, but I may have a slight case of OCD that won't allow it.

Should I hold off to see what announcements are made for next year, or are these figures worth purchasing now?

I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
It's pricey to have to go back and buy some of those. Sinister and Professor X were up there for me. If you're going to buy them, I suggest finishing the BAFs. I don't have the ToyBiz Colossus, but the Marvel Select Colossus is superb. I'd love to get a completed Blob though, but I thought he was a Hasbro BAF.

Select figures i feel are great, that is IF your looking to get some of the bigger suzed heroes or villians.Hulk, abomination, juggernaut etc

I think colossus would be good from from select. However he's wearing the old costume.

Just pulled out my Marvel Encyclopedia, Colossus is 7'5, and Juggurnaut is 6'10. I'm going to purchase the Marvel Select Colossus because the Marvel Legends Colossus from the Warlock wave is WAY too short next to my Juggernaut. Whew...

Really? Never thought of colossus as taller than Juggernaut

The stats I just looked up have armored colossuss at 7'5'' and Juggernaut at 9'5''

Hmm, I got that stat from the 2015 Marvel Encyclopedia. It says he's 6'10 and 900 lbs. I'm going to look and see if there is an updated version, because I just bought the Marvel Select Colossus from Amazon. Lol

Weighing on Infinity War, I'd say that a Marvel Select MCU Thanos is quite possible since many of the characters won't have major costume changes from their last movie appearance. Diamond Select is only allowed to do so many Marvel Select figures each year and they typically don't waste spots on characters that look mildly different from their last MCU appearance. Most of the MCU figures they've put out the past couple of years won't be getting updates for Infinity War.

For the Marvel Legends waves, I don't see a lot of rereleases coming. I think there will be a strong comic book presence in these waves since most of the new costume changes would be saved for waves that support solo movies like Black Panther or Ant Man and the Wasp. Or the characters just haven't updated their costume in any major way like Spiderman and Dr. Strange. Obviously there will be a strong MCU presence in at least one wave with Thanos and Iron Man's new armor. But beyond that, I would expect to see comic based figures. A new Black Widow and a classic Incredible Hulk are long over due.

I would say hold off on Professor X, Nightcrawler, and Beast. All three could be made with existing bodies that need minimal tooling and they haven't been done in a while. One thing to note with Beast is that he would probably be the slimmer 80s version, tooled from the Jackal body. If you specifically wanted a bulky, 90s Jim Lee version, then you'll need to get the Toy Biz figure. As for the others, I doubt they'll get made anytime soon since we are currently at one X-wave a year and many of them aren't big name heavy hitters. If you don't see or hear anything for tProfessor X, Nightcrawler, and Beast during SDCC, I'd still say hold off since we probably won't know the full wave breakdown until we are closer to the release date.

I hope we start seeing more X-Men waves in 2019 and more X-Men 2 packs/multipacks in 2018. I think I heard in a NYTF interview that we would only be getting one X-Men wave in 2018 and that the line up was finalized. Plus there will be several Avengers waves next year that will prevent more X-Men.

@jwyss234. I will take that advice. I just finished watching one of the Hasbro interviews from this years Toy Fair. They said next year would be their strongest X-Men line to date. With that said, I can hold off because it sounds like we could be getting a Beast, Storm, Professor X, Nightcrawler, and so on.

You're never going to nail heights with figures or comics.

I went with the Select Silver Surfer too. He's a bit taller than the should be comic-wise, but a good figure nonetheless.

The Select Juggernaut is a good choice. I'm going to grab that one at some point too.

I can't agree there. THe Select Thanos is way too big and the articulation sucks. Plus, he feels so fragile.

I'm a firm believer in fudging the height of your figures with figure stands and posing. I think Marvel Select Colossus fits in pretty well with Marvel Legends, especially if you pose him with a wide stance and put a few shorter characters in front of him. That's what I do anyway. It's a lot less expensive and easier to get MS figures since they reissue them fairly often. I doubt we'll get another Colossus or Juggernaut from Hasbro anytime soon considering we just got those characters recently. Even if you do wait for Hasbro to do a character you want there's no telling what costume they'll decide on. Probably whatever requires the least amount of new tooling.

I really would like to see a new Prof. X with the hoverchair, but Hasbro uses the size of the ML packages as an excuse not to do it. Now with the Vulture build-a-Wing wave setting a precident I wouldn't be surprised if they had a Build-A-Hoverchair X-Men wave.

Select juggernaut, abomination, hulks I FEEL put the legends versions to shame.

While a few of you will argue selects have less articulation then legends, yea that's true but im one to just pose and put them on the shelf. I think size wise for marvel selects, they hit the bigger characters out the ballpark.

I'm with you on the first two, but I go with ML for the Hulk.

Just personal preference I suppose.

Little comparison for you, I don't have select Colossus because I thought he was too big. Here is BAF Blob, Toybiz Juggernaut, Hasbro Colossus, Select Juggernaut, Toybiz Colossus and BAF Juggernaut
