What do you guys think of the Hulk that came in the two pack with Valkyrie? I like the way it looks but I've never seen it in person. I originally got the Thanos BAF hulk but I'm not a fan. More of a fan of the comic Hulk than the movie Hulk. I like the way the SH Figuarts Hulk looks, but it's crazy expensive, so I bought a Chinese copy, which was of course a terrible idea and is a piece of crap.
I've been really looking at the two pack Hulk lately, any thoughts or opinions? Hasbro could also announce or tease a new 6" Incredible Hulk figure for next year. They're doing a 12" version so I think a 6" version is possible. |

Just got an email from Entertainment Earth. Looks like they just shipped my Star-Lord/Ego 2 Pack.

Speaking of Fin Fang Foom, anyone see the bootleg that's been making the rounds?

Two-pack Hulk is sort of an acquired taste. It's a really great translation of Ed McGuinness' art (as is the Red Hulk BAF), but a lot of people feel the cartoony style feels out of place with a lot of other Legends, most of whom aren't sculpted in any specific art style.

I used to own the 2 pack Hulk. He's not a bad figure but he feels like a bit of a brick from the waist down due to the ball hips and the swivel ankles. If you're looking for a larger Hulk figure, you could try the ML Face Off Hulk or the Marvel Select Unleashed Hulk. If you want a Hulk that is more in scale with the recent Abomination BAF, there is the Toy Biz Series 1 Hulk. Hasbro also made a green variant of the savage grey Hulk in the Fin Fang Foom wave. The articulation isn't as good as recent Hasbro figures but the paint is outstanding. He's a bit pricey though and some of the cheaper ones on eBay look like KOs.
Hasbro could also announce or tease a new 6" Incredible Hulk figure for next year. They're doing a 12" version so I think a 6" version is possible. Also, the Captain America from that Face Off series looks freaking sweet. He as good as he looks in the pictures? Last edited by Nostalgic; 07-12-2017 at 07:21 PM.. |

You mean like Justice League of America having an Asian kid as the new Atom, a gay man as the Ray, having characters like Vixen being part of the team and the writer saying the book was meant to be representative of modern America?
How about that transgender woman character in Detective Comics? The Green Lantern series that's being led by a Muslim man and a Latina woman? Teen Titans having a black and gay kid as the new Aqualad? The Batgirl title full of a bunch of diverse supporting characters? The New-Superman book starring a Chinese kid with Superman's powers? The Midnight & Apollo min-series starring a gay superhero couple? How about that new Batwoman ongoing title? Or the new Deadman mini-series centered on an LGBT couple? Sounds an awful lot like PC nonsense! But I'm moving on now because there's no point in getting into another circular debate. I'll be over here waiting for the Jane Foster figure. ![]() There was a great video that summed up the problem, which is that crossovers have gotten so frequent that there's no breather room anymore. You can't have a big story that completely upends the status quo unless you have an actual status quo to upend to begin with. That's been one of the big problems with Secret Empire. It came far too soon after Civil War II, which people already argued came way too soon after Secret Wars. Which stands are you using, if I may ask? Batman, superman, green lantern (hal Jordan) are all still there the same with minor changes. Mostly outfits or supporting characters. |

I was counting Deadpool as the half, since it's not exclusively an X-Men movie

Getting a second X-wave next year (aside from Deadpool) would be the absolute best news I could get from SDCC, that and a Sauron BAF. Really hoping for Gambit, Storm, Psylocke and Nightcrawler out of any redos. Oh and Lady Deathstrike as well. I'm sure they'll come at some point I just want them sooner than later. As much as I go on about how awful the Banshee figure is, I don't care enough about the character to put it ahead of of higher tier characters.

What's more frustrating for you guys? Missing one BAF piece for the figure or having a ton of random pieces you'll never use?

When you are just missing one BAF piece, you can solve the puzzle and complete it relatively quickly. Having a ton of random pieces, brings out a ADHD fit with no end in sight. |

Yup. I usually put them in a big tupperwear bin or something because I can't stand looking at them.

It's not the chin so much as it is the whole face. It just don't think it's a very good portrait of Steve Rogers. Especially when you compare it to the Face Off Hulk which has an excellent portrait.
My favorite Captain America is the Cap-Wolf figure (with the regular, non-mutated head). The head sculpt is what I think Cap should look like, the bodily proportions look more natural, and the red and blue of the costume are just about perfect. I know a lot of people are down on this figure because he doesn't have the scale armor on the top half of his costume but a lot of artists had started to leave it off the costume back in the day since he was more super hero than soldier at that point. But if Hasbro wanted to do a post 9/11 Captain America, then they definitely need to retool parts of the figure so he has the scale armor and utility belt. |

![]() ![]() The Face Off Caps are a testament to both everything that Toybiz was doing right and everything that they were doing wrong during the era. On the right side, the sculpts on the FO Caps were very good, with fully sculpted armor, wrinkles and texturing in the hood, gloves and boots, and some awesome paint apps with subtle washes all over the figure. On the downside, for as many points of articulation the FO figures have, the most important parts, the shoulders, are mostly useless thanks to the sculpt. Cap can not raise his arms horizontally more than 10 degrees, nor can he bring his arms down to his side's properly, giving him a gorilla stance. You also have to be very careful in attempting to move the arms, because the figure has the infamous, fragile, Toybiz butterfly joints. The neck juts forward in a weird way, giving him a hunch back appearance, and again, since this is a Toybiz figure, all of the other joints as well are subject to snapping off thanks to the dubious amounts of paint and wash applied over them. He's just not a very fun figure to try and pose. Honestly, if you were gonna pick up just one Cap figure From Toybiz, I would go for the original series 1 figure. While the body is obviously a bit outdated, I feel it still holds up fairly well, and has an articulation scheme not all that different from what Hasbro is using now, and unlike the FO Caps...it all works. Plus the head sculpt is incredible. I feel I should mention the Ultimates Cap as well as being a fairly good figure as well...although I am biased since I actually enjoyed this version of the character in the comics more than I did the 616 version. Much of the FO versions body mold was repurposed from this figure, only that the articulation on Ultimates Cap was much better. You just have to get past the head sculpt, which looks okay at certain angles, while at others, looks off and gives Cap the appearance of having a huge, cartoony jaw and underbite. The detail on the figure though is phenomenal, but again, your feelings towards the figure might also stem from whether or not you enjoyed this version of the character. One thing that is a positive among all of the figures though...the shield. The shields that came with the Toybiz Caps DESTROY Hasbro's in nearly every way, and I wish that Hasbro would copy them. They're perfect. Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 07-12-2017 at 10:53 PM.. |

I actually just recently Frankenstein-ed a complete figure out of some of the left-over pieces I had scattered around. It was completely hilarious and looked like it came straight out of a bad 90's comic. I was about to post a shot of it, but alas he crumbled before I could snap the pic. |

I like that one a lot too, it's my only Legends Captain America so I can't compare it to any others but I like it a lot anyway.

I guess it's because I've been a cherry picker for so long and across so many lines I've gotten used to having BAF pieces, but being only one piece away and not completing one? Drives me nuts. Great pictures. Man, I'd forgotten how... busty Black Cat is. |

Missing a piece, easily.

Great pictures. Man, I'd forgotten how... busty Black Cat is. Thanks! While Felicia is still one of my favorite female Legends figures to date, I forgot how hard it was to do anything dynamic with her. Nevertheless, had a lot of fun putting those together. Haven't been able to sleep tonight, so here is a few more. I've been literally waiting a VERY long time to finally have these two together like this... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'll always keep hoping for that, #NeverSurrender LOL. As for your custom, definitely share pics of your progress. And you know what, even if there's an official version, there's absolutely some self satisfaction in creating your own custom, provided you're happy with it. That's something that no official release can give you.

There is no worse feeling than working on a tough custom, parts wise and then BAM! Right in the middle of your work Hasbro announces the figure. If it was a different version or something that's one thing. I usually try to make stuff I assume Hasbro would never make. I was wrong on Nebula. I couldnt imagine Sauron.

I have a box of spare parts and extra figures that at some point I'm going to tackle but I have been saying that for several years now. I think the remodel and sale of the house interfered, and now while the new house is being built I just don't have space in the temporary place....soon though!! |

I really hope we see a classic Vulture at SDCC. OH, and a Giant Sized X-Men 5-6 pack.
