lol New bodies don't mean jack if they don't even have articulation that the bodies from 10 years ago have. TV show Flash has no abcrunch. Rebirth Batman has no accessories, no double jointed elbows and kneeds, not ankle rockers, nothing.

BAFs mean nothing if the entire wave is dogshit. The only figure in the King Shark wave I might have touched would have been Batgirl. I would so love Clayface, but Superman is the only figure in the wave that I would buy, oh, but wait, he is also using the 10 year old body, so nevermind.

I bought that Batgirl and returned her in less than 24 hours. All I could do was compare it to the Icons Batgirl. It clearly didn't measure up.

You might not like the Hydra pack, but I found tremendous value in them. I was able to use the extra heads for other figures (tweaked the scarred flattop for Eddie Brock/Venom, and the bald one also makes a good one Brock/Anti-Venom, since he was growing his hair back after Mr. Negative cured his cancer.) The extra weapons are also great for customizing and if army building just isn't your thing, the Hydra Soldier works great for giving Red Skull a different look in a pinch.
I picked up one of those Hydra 2-Packs a week or so ago, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. I even had a coupon with me at the time but I sat it back down on the shelf. If I had picked one up though I would have tried to sculpt lenses on the bald, unmasked Brute head and painted a mask over the rest of it. I like the idea of the 2-pack and all the extra guns would have been cool, but those alternate heads kinda killed it for me. Some all-new generic Hydra Soldier heads with different expressions would have sealed the deal for me and doesn't seem like much to ask considering the rest of that set is repacked/kitbashed stuff.

I lucked out and managed to find several of the Hydra Soldiers from the Mandroid wave a few years ago and I'm just going to stick with them.

Non comic related a reminder...nay a PLEA...and I dont' think anyone has yet, but can we give people a week at least before anyone posts Thor spoilers? I feel like I've seen half the movie through the trailers (and love it all) but not everyone is going to be able to get out to see is tonight. Though I'd love to....hoping I can catch it this weekend or at very latest next weekend, and trying to not be spoiled by the half of the movie the trailers haven't covered. Thanks to all!

Edit: Obviously if someone wants to give a general vague comment about how good/bad it is or your general feelings on it that's fine. I'm not saying please don't talk about if you've even seen it or not...I'm sure many of us will by three days from now...just not wanting actual spoilers out there.

Yeah I never thought of it that way haha. The set isn't The Worst only problem I had with it mainly was the Big guy and lack of weapon detail. But do not get me Wrong if it was ever on clearance for $20 hell yeah I would buy it but I just think the $40 price tag for basically 3 year old figures with slightly different paint is way too much.

QFT. We won't be seeing it until this weekend, and sometimes it's hard to avoid spoilers even when people are avoiding talking about spoilers, so please everyone, do your best to let us all have a fresh Thor experience.

They still make G.I. Joe figures? I've seen some 30th anniversary figures but they were mainly repaints of figures I have. I loved that line when they retooled all the figures.

Totally agree. I just wanted generic masked Hydra heads with different expressions, not a Cap Brit head, Nuke head, TM head or shield helmet painted green! I have yet to find these here in SA, TX. I have hit TRU every week and nothing. I already have plans on customizing the enhanced Hydra brutes into classic masked versions but just need to find these in TRU. I refuse to pay $60 per pack on ebay or at comic stores & cons. That's a rip!

I haven't seen any new Joes in a while, barring some con exclusive stuff, but with that SDCC set that had Jetfire and the Micronauts and ROM, they reeeeeealllyy botched the ROM. they kitbashed arms with a watch sculpted on them for Gosh sake!

Ah man, I was gonna record the entire movie on my cell and post screen grabs for all the spoilers. I guess I'll be a nice guy and not do that.
But in all seriousness, I agree. No spoilers. I'm seeing it tomorrow night but I'm with Nash here. Let's not ruin it for those that are waiting to see it.

I found one in a store today but I couldn't bring myself to buy it. I already have 2 and while I would love to army build, there's just something about the set that is underwhelming to me. I like the different heads, but only the masked ones. Why would a Hydra trooper/brute run around mask-less? The Taskmaster head and SHIELD agent head aren't terrible, and it makes for some distinction in a display, but I always liked the typical masked look of a Hydra goon.

Exactly. Hydra grunts are all masked, nameless, faceless cannon fodder. I've never seen unmasked Hydra grunts in the comics nor did I care to. Would it really have killed Hasbro to just sculpt eye lenses on the brutes & just paint a mask on them? Didn't need to include Nuke's vest either, just repaint the blank Sentry buck in Hydra Green with the Yellow H on their chests. IMO, that woulda been even more cost effective, but looked better as I like uniformity in my army builder figures.

For Skrulls, I'd love it if they use the Sunfire buck for them with just the shoulder flares added on. For Super Skrull, the Spidy UK buck would be ideal as he is "Super" Skrull and is bigger/buffer than regular Skrull grunts.

Kree Soldiers also would be ideal on the Sunfire buck & you could make different rank insignias on their chest to differentiate em.

Hellfire club soldiers , again, the Sunfire buck.

I just see these army builders as being in the 6 ft 190lbs range.

And please re-release the AIM grunts again in a 2-3 pack. I never found any of them in the wild.

For Doombots, can we please get the more Sentinel looking versions from the 80s that John Byrne drew on the FF run and that were in the 95' FF cartoon that featured Dr Doom.

Those could be put on the SPidey UK buck or even the Sentry buck, just new forearms/hands, Boots/feet & of course heads.

^^^Loving the ideas for troop builders! I'd buy them all!

Not to derail the conversation, but earlier in the year, there was a leaked list of Marvel Legend waves that would be coming out this year. I looked back on that list for the heck of it and I saw that there were 2 Thor waves planned. Obviously, we would know buy now if there was a second wave due out. Anyone think it was canceled last minute and the Valkyrie/Thor 2 pack may be figures that were supposed to be in the wave? There were so many rumors about an Executioner BAF and I feel like that was one of the only things that didn't come to pass this year.

Do you have a link to that leak? I know there's a pretty famous leak that has been mostly spot on this year for almost everything we've seen announced, but I don't remember a second Thor wave.

I do know that Executioner was listed as part of the Thor wave recently got though. I have no idea what happened. Perhaps Executioner was planned but wasn't very budget conscious (especially in a wave where the tooling budget went to three brand new movie figures with limited reuse potential), so Hasbro just figured repainting the Ares BAF would be cheaper. Is it possible someone even got Ares and Skurge confused? They do have some superficial visual similarities (big guys in black armor wielding battle axes).

Anyway, some clarification on Black Knight.
He's part of the second Infinity War wave, not the one we've already seen part of with Songbird, King Cobra and Taskmaster.

TRU must have gotten a case of the vintage wave in today becuase they had all six on their pegs. I picked up these two:

The only thing that sucks is I have to retrain Wolverine's claws to position the way I want them to be positioned. Also, the paint apps on the unmasked head kind of suck. Other than that, I love the brighter colors for Wolverine.

As for Cap, love the colors on him too and that he has the chain mail look painted on. However, good god does the throwing hand accessory suck ass. I thought it would look badass but I can not find any pose that makes it look cool. :-(

At one point, I had a screen shot on my phone but I deleted it a few months back. If I can remember where it came from, I'll share it. But I see what you're saying about Ares and Excutioner. Maybe that's what happened.

Yeah, I figure that the wave got cancelled and they just did a two pack and the SDCC set instead. It's kind of a shame we did not get a classic comic Thor or Loki out of the whole deal, a shame and surprising. And of course, Executioner.

As far as Black Knight, the fact he probably will come with the Garrett headsculpt makes this a probable buy for me. I was going to lay off getting him because I already have the original Hasbro Black Knight, but have them oppose each other would be nice. I don't know though - costs outside of collecting are mounting up - a huge vet bill (though dog's doing okay) a new(er) car now this month and still planning to build the house over the next year...I honestly don't know if I can AFFORD to collect anymore. The only things I'm sure I'll be getting will be Songbird and the X-wave. I really do want more but I may have to wait for a while..like a year or two.

Well if amazon prices tell you anything it is that your patience will be rewarded. I can't believe how low some things are getting. The GoTG wave 2 are all available for less than retail and that was a somewhat hard to find wave!

That may be something I have to do. I am thankful things are going positively it's just a lot of expenses I did not think I would have even three months ago the house deal was always the plan and I knew I'd have to slow down significantly but the other expenses on top of that are killer...thankfully I got pretty much all my figures for 2017 before any of this hit..literally like two weeks after I got my SDCC set.

Must...enact...patience....

I got a KO One:12 Punisher off of eBay the other week and wasn't too happy with the paint job on the screaming head. I tried to change it and just made things worse so I decided to try the Fwoosh's tutorial on painting the head for dynamic lighting. It didn't turn out the way the one in the tutorial did but for my first time, I don't think it's too bad.
