I didn't realize there was a Captain Marvel figure this year. It's a repaint, but I might have to snag one. I don't have the SDCC set, and I probably won't ever have one given how quickly they sell out. I don't have the Has-Con Deadpool...and won't pay those EBay prices. I also didn't get Ironman, Wolvie, or Cap from the Vintage wave. I do plan on getting the Defenders set for Christmas. I also need to grab that Valkarie 2-pack, she grew on me after seeing the movie.
With that said, I have every other figure from this year. 10. Shatterstar 9. Adam Warlock 8. Green Goblin 7. Colossus 6. Yondu 5. Jim Lee Cyclops (would probably be top 3 if he didn't have issues with those bands) 4. Elsa Bloodstone 3. Dark Phoenix 2. Hela 1. Angela We had some absolutely awesome female Legends this year. Best BAF: Man-Thing with Gladiator Hulk in a close second |

To make it worse Deadpool's not even a mutant, he's a phony mutate.

Making a top ten for 2017 is hard because I'm still waiting on the second GotG and X-Men waves, and I likely won't be getting any BP or Vintage until next year. But:
1. Kamala Khan, my favourite comic book character and while the figure isn't perfect it still looks like she stepped out of a comic 2. MCU Hela, just an absolutely fantastic likeness 3. FosterThor, another favourite character, and once you get used to the balance challenges thanks to the cloak you can get some really dynamic poses out of her and she looks extremely faithful to the comics. 4. SDCC Ulik not a character I'm particularly familiar with but he's big abd heavy and fun to pose 5. Netflix Jessica Jones, Hasbro captured her look perfectly 6. MCU Hulk BAF Thor, great likeness, great to pose 7. Dark Phoenix, beautiful figure with some very useful extra heads 8. Cyclops from the DP two pack 9. A-Force Singularity, I've wanted a figure of her since reading the A-Force comic and it doesn't disappoint 10. SDCC Malekith, looks like he stepped right out of his comic too, superb face sculpt. Honourable mention: MCU Valkyrie, I really want this figure, I absolutely loved her in Ragnarok Angela, fantastic figure, just missed out on 10th place.

Wow, thank you Boy Blunder for the list. I forgot how many figures we got this year! Here's my top 10 in no particular order:
Mary Jane- I was just happy to finally get her. I would love a Peter Parker in civilian clothes too. Death's Head II- I was always a fan of his. Very happy to have a figure of him. Ares- For a redo, he was awesome! Adam Warlock- I LOVED the mid-00's Guardians run. I love this design. Lady Sif/Angela- Same mold so I'm counting it as one pick. Just really liked it. Green Goblin- Just a big fan of the character, and I like the figure. Ulik- Really solid figure, even if he had some parts reused. Moon Knight- Exactly what I wanted him to be. Cyclops (90's)- It's about time, just wish those bands were sculpted on. Shatterstar- I'm a die hard 90's X-Force fan. I needed this in my life. |

I didn't buy as many Marvel Legends this year as others did, but my top 10 would probably be (and I'm sure I'll do a picture of them together later):
1. Dark Phoenix 2. Dazzler 3. Vintage Wolverine 4. Byrne Cyclops 5. Shatterstar 6. Tombstone 7. Beetle 8. Bullseye 9. Sunfire 10. Man-Thing It kind of sucked only having one Spider-Man wave this year (although there is still time for the Lizard wave to make it).

Does anyone know what stores are going to carry the new Black Panther wave? I want to start looking out for them.

Top 10 for me...
Firstly I think Hasbro mostly knocked it out the park this year. They had a great number of figures that were awesome and only a few that were meh. Raspberry award definitely goes to non-SDCC set Odinson. It was really hard to pick a top 10....but here goes. 10. Borr (SDCC set) And i have to tell you this was a major surprise. I did not expect to love this figure until I had it in hand. 9. Groot (TRU Exclusive)...yes I know it was repack of the BAF but I never got one that way. 8. Beetle (Vulture BAV wave) 7. Jane Foster Thor (SDCC set) 6. Bullseye (Man Thing wave) 5. Cyclops (Warlock wave) 4. Angela (Titus wave) 3. Polaris (Warlock wave) Yes, maybe not the most interesting of figures but given my resolve to have her done...yeah she's going to rank high. But I still can't put her above... I'm totally biased to my rank for this figure. 2. Dark Phoenix (TRU 2 Pack) 1. Dazzler (Warlock wave) Runners up so many great figures to choose from I think Sif and Lady Loki from the A-Force Set, Gamora from the Mantis wave, SDCC exclusive Malekith and Darkhawk from the Titus wave. BAF: I actually feel like the BAF were not as interesting this year. Not bad, just kind of not that great either. Gladiator Hulk is clearly the winner here with Man Thing being close behind. Warlock is probably the most detailed sculpted but I'm just not a huge fan of the character despite being a huge X-Men/New Mutants fan. |

Should be any store that carries Legends as is. So: Walmart, Target, TRU (if yours isn't among the closing), Gamestop (if you don't mind the price bump), LCS, etc. Of course all online options as well.

Thanks. Always seems like some stores carry lines that the others don’t, or at least not right away. Like the X-Men wave was only at Target around here at first and I’ve never seen it at Walmart.

That can definitely happen and unfortunately it's really hard to accurately predict who'll get it first or who's still stuck with the last wave (that part's easy enough to see) but hopefully since it is a movie tie-in wave it'll get a good push.

I wouldn't worry about finding the Black Panther figures (once they hit). This is the first wave that will have Black Panther coding --whatever it may be -- on it. We generally only have problems when there's a second wave within a year that has the same coding prefix, that stores don't reorder new waves for because they are stuck with the first one. The exception being the GOTG2 wave 2 that actually seemed to be fairly easy to find.

Cyclops (Great representation even with flawed leg bands!) 5. Warlock (BAF)(In hand, the details are incredible!) 4. Sif (They did not disappoint with her, great retool of Angela!) 3. Spiderman 2099 (Looks so futuristic, just like him in comics!) 2. Angela (I just love it when Hasbro nails it on the female figs!) 1. (Phoenix/Cyclops) 2 pack (Basic at its best for Scott, and Jean just looks stunning! I can choose between the 2 figures because the compliment each other like they should, tie!)

Well,
I bought only 10 figures from this year's offerings, but, in ascending order, here they are: 10. Major Victory / Vance Astro - I love the shiny blue, but the lack of moulded detail on the figure and the shield puts him at the bottom of the heap. 9. Bullseye - Nice update and fun accessories but also lacking in moulded detail 8. Darkhawk - I loved this character when I first read him. The wings are nice, and he looks really good in flying poses. 7. Beetle - As others have said, nice combination of existing and new parts. Looks great in almost every pose. He also pushes my 'nostalgia button' in looking so much like he did in Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends. 6. Dark Phoenix - I would have put her lower on the list, but the extra heads are such cool, though obviously necessary, accessories that she has to take the #6 spot. 5. Shatterstar - The 'nostalgia button' is pushed again. I have to love any figure that so wells creates a 3D representation of the '90s character. I would love some swords in a harder plastic, but this is a toy afterall. 4. Moon Knight - Another favourite character from my teens, and this is the absolute best representation in plastic form. The accessories are also top notch, even if the figure can't hold the top spot. ![]() 3. Cyclops (DP two-pack) - A vast improvement over the old ToyBiz mould, this is the definitive look for Scott Summers for me. It's like the red and gold armour for Iron Man, the yellow oval under black bat chest symbol for Batman, the purple pants for the Hulk, etc. It's simple yet easily recognisable as Cyclops. 2. Vintage/Retro Wolverine - One of my top 4 favourite comic book superheroes of all time this is, to me, the best Wolverine mould I've ever seen. Add to that, the colours more closely matching his Secret Wars figure, and my 'nostalgia button' has broken under the strain. It's stuck in the 'on' position and is likely to trigger the end of the universe... However, the #1 spot goes to... 1. Daredevil (Netflix) - Another of my top 4 favourite comic book characters of all time, I love this figure. The moulded detail is there in copious amounts; the colours are just lovely; and the likeness to the MCU character looks great to me. I tend to keep my 'real world' version superhero figures separate from my 'comic book' version superhero figures, so I needed this figure to fill one of the empty slots in my collection. He does so without making it look like he is working; he makes it look that easy. Superb figure and deserves my top spot for the year. |
