Great picture! How do you like that Hulk? I want to get a different one and that’s one of the ones I’m looking at.

What's that @TheBlueMarvel? Do you mean the Toybiz Giant-Man wave Thor was based on a Four Horsemen sculpt? Can you find any reference pics of their original sculpt? Was it a full statue or a bust? It's totally still my #1 Thor. I tend to err toward 'classic' character costumes and Hasbro have yet to improve on it, imo. Can't settle on a Iron Man though. I haven't picked up the vintage release as I never warmed to the previous similar one (from Hasbro's Epic Heroes, 'Neo-classic' with the big booties). The ML8 'Modern' IM was my go to for years, as I really liked the sculpt - but it doesn't really fit with the 'classic' vibe. What are people's #1 comic style Iron Man Legends? I'd be interested to hear opinions/thoughts on this as it may help me to decide on which to use (or obtain and then use) in my display. |

I'd be interested to hear opinions/thoughts on this as it may help me to decide on which to use (or obtain and then use) in my display. Romita Sr. Goblin **that's what I call it**, Hobgoblin **I've seen people say they still prefer the TB version to Hasbro's latest - personally, I'm a little torn**, Beta Ray **another fave**, Apocalypse, one of my favorite Human Torch figs, Thunder launch Thing **my go-to despite loving the the Byrne and Perez-styled heads of the classic version**, and Sinister Six Rhino **which just squeaks by the new BAF** - just to name a few. Here you go, further evidence that MarvelLegends.net continues to be an awesome collector resource - MarvelLegends.Net - Sculptors Index We completely agree on the Giantman Thor continuing to carry the torch as the most satisfyingly accurate silver-bronze age thunder-god. As far as classic Iron Man is concerned, my pics are the twin pack sculpts - Classic Iron Man, Iron Man II, and Stealth Armor. I know many hate the size, but the look is so very spot on - even the extra Tony head screams Layton/JRJR Stark IMO. Scale issues abound within the Legends line. Whether it's Toy Biz or Hasbro, the scattershot presentations are a common hurdle that individual tastes either can, or can't overcome. My modern Iron Man choice is Bleeding Edge. I even nabbed the Brit version for the more comic accurate coloring and another stellar Tony head - this one being my modern Stark stand-in. I also expect to like this latest BP Wave Iron Man...Additionally, we need a properly sized Extremis Iron Man. That's an important armor and while Hasbro selected a great sculpt, that was one size hiccup I couldn't quite overlook. Not only was it diminutive, but it was also slight of build and frail looking. I'm hoping they make a classic Thor and Classic Loki 2-Pack. So far we haven't had a great Loki in the ML Department. Give him the Pizza Spidey body with an expressive head (similar to the Ultimate Vulture) with huge horns and a scaly printed body and we have a winner!

TBM: Thanks for the detailed reply. I've been aware of the site for years, but I never stumbled into those pages. Very interesting! When grouped by sculptor/team, you can really see the similarities in style - although some seem to be listed multiple times (seems more common amongst DC figs) so I'm not sure what's going on there. Team effort, perhaps?
I'm currently displaying the new Green Goblin and the old Hobgoblin - but I'm tempted to switch Greenie back over and see if I can make my own Dreadknight from the new Hasbro effort - as I don't think I'll be spending on the Raft set. I was also thinking of displaying both Goblins - with one being Norman and the other being Harry. It's funny, the excuses I make to myself to bend my own rules. Entirely unnecessary! Another example: I've got 5 Dr Dooms on the shelf. In my mind, the 4 Toybiz ones are all Doombots (although technically only one is, so he's the only one unmasked) and the more similar coloured Hasbro one (Epic Heroes - rather than Ronan series) is my actual Doom. I think I get a bit bothered by the size on some of those IMs. Both the 2-pack and Extremis both look not quite big enough to actually fit a dude inside, when displayed next to my preferred Cap, Thor, etc. However, I don't think I'm fussed enough that I'd want Hasbro to include slightly larger versions of those armors in any upcoming BAF waves. Maybe as a single release (Walgreens, TRU, etc) that I can choose to buy, but not as a "Well, you have to buy this figure again if you want the BAF...". I finally opened my Netflix wave - as they were a Christmas present so I had to wait. Other than the obvious, already documented issues with Blade standing up straight and Frank's single jointed (and frankly, <ahem>, quite odd) elbows - I'm pretty pleased. Man-Thing's left bicep swivel scared me for a bit as I thought I was going to twist the peg off - but I think it's okay. I won't be replacing TB Bullseye on my main shelf, however I may add the new one to my Dark Avengers display instead. The likeness on the Netflix figs, especially the girls, is amazing. Right up there with Hela. Makes me excited to get the BP wave. Also got 4 very nice Lego sets this year. Possibly best Christmas for toys for quite a while! |

Made a nice purchase last night with some Christmas money...
![]() Incidentally, anyone want the Groot, Rocket w/ guns, and potted Groot? Entertaining offers right now. I'll even include the whole box w/ white mailer box, if you wanna cover the shipping for that.

Has anyone ever purchased one of those knockoff Red Hulks? I’m thinking about taking a chance on one at $20.

@Robo
"Detailed" or rambling? lol It becomes a matter of how invested one is in TB Legends. In addition to a shared appreciation of lines-'not-Legends,' you and I apparently dig both old and new Marvel offerings. FYI we do not represent the majority or norm on this thread, especially as it regards old TBs. With that in mind, I'll keep this tangential jaunt short... Yeah, I do think there was some consideration given to collaborative efforts and that may explain the DCUC duplicates. Additionally, about those DCUC figs, my understanding was that Four Horsemen handled all of those sculpts ***most notably, Orion which I recall reading a piece on theFwoosh lauding 4H for doing such a great job with its creation***. To see DCUC figs listed outside of the section designated for 4H seems pretty odd. My thinking on the matter is that those sculptors must have worked in-house with 4H at some point, only to move on by the time that list was created. Boy Blunder - Excellent purchase! I was very happy with my set, especially for Gamora - she's fantastic. I prefer the Rocket paint apps to the BAF and was also happy to get a comic Groot, despite it being 85% reuse. I didn't get the SDCC set with Star Lord in so he wasn't a duplicate and the Drax buck upgrade was very welcome. I found the potted Groot equally superfluous to my requirements, although it's a nice little pack in.
Anyone who doesn't already have a comic Rocket should jump on this before BB changes his mind! I expect you'll get a better deal than the BAF and his colo(u)rs really pop in person! |

So yeah, seriously, anyone who wants them, lob me an offer. I'm hoping to flip these guys quick so I can try and snag a grail of mine before the price goes astronomical ![]()

Arch, I do not own one currently, but I have in the past, they are much better than say a KO Archangel, they are almost identical to the actual Hasbro Version. Safe buy at 20$

I talked to the manager of the toy department of my local Walmart today and he had no clue what I was talking about when I asked him about the new Black Panther wave, so I’m thinking Walmart might not get that wave, at least initially.
Thanks for the pics! The face off Hulk is the other one I’m considering. I’m thinking it might fit in a little better than the more cartoony two pack Hulk. |

After looking at Raf's shots, I still think the Select Unleashed Hulk is my favorite. The face sculpt conveys anger without having a "Hulk Sneeze", "Hulk Confused" or "Hulk Constipated" kind of look that so many of the rest seem to convey.

The Select Unleashed is the one I have now with my Legends Avengers. I love the figure except for the lack of poseability. Also, it’s a bit too detailed to fit in with the Legends figures.

Select Unleashed Hulk is my Hulk I use for my Legends Collection. He is IMO Perfect Scale. He matches up perfectly with Hulkbuster Armor.
