Love that best of idea.
It is rumored there might be an MCU anniversary wave this year, and I’d love to get some sorely missing characters. (I’m excluding Netflix characters because we’re almost certainly getting a new Netflix wave). - Peggy Carter - Quicksilver - Yellowjacket - Sif - Heimdall - Ghost Rider - Melinda May BAF: Korg |

I've heard a couple of rumors that Hasbro could be doing a MCU 10th Anniversary line. There are SO many figures I would want, but if I had to narrow down my list, I would put money on Yellowjacket, Crossbones, and Ronan as the locks.
As far as the Netflix figures go, I see Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Kingpin, and Misty Knight or Colleen Wig being the possible figures in the next wave. I'm also am wondering if Hasbro might rethink their MCU strategies going foward. I don't have sales numbers, but the eye test tells me these last few MCU inspired waves are bombing big time. Everything dating back to the first Guardians wave is just languishing on the shelf (especially the Thor stuff.) I felt that we received too many MCU figures last year...and would like to see them get back to the basics. It'll be interesting to see what is announced at Toy Fair... |

That’s awesome! And same i see a Mcu Figure I Buy a Mcu Figure Lol. I hope we get a Updated face print Black Widow And Ant man from the infinity war. Since they haven’t had the best Mcu figures as of yet. But as for Netflix Wave two I’d Want a Iron first and Luke to finish off the defenders and the rest of your picks but. I’d also love a Claire/Nurse Figure (I’ve got a thing for Rosario Dawson.) But that’s highly unlikely to be made

I agree with Luke, Danny and Kingpin, but I seriously doubt we will ever see another Misty figure after the way the last one peg warmed.

I felt that we received too many MCU figures last year...and would like to see them get back to the basics. It'll be interesting to see what is announced at Toy Fair... My title and signature say it all, I love live action figures, but I will never deny that we had to start with the comics to get where we are today, which is to a multi billion dollar film franchise with merchandise to go along with them. A lot of people don't like them and that's okay, but the general public does and Marvel Studios and Hasbro can see that, and release what they believe will sale. It's not a coincidence we saw 29 live action figures released this year. I've said this time and time again...we are the minority. We are a very small piece in this big game. Honestly, it took me a while to see it but I get it. Even when you go to YouTube and you see a people young and old try their take at collecting, reviewing figures, and getting started in the Marvel Legends game; their entry to this is coming from the films which leads them to the film figures, which lead them to the comics. With the rumors I've been reading, it doesn't seem like Hasbro will be slowing down anytime soon with MCU Marvel Legends, and they shouldn't. Especially when you have the culmination of 10 (11 by next summer) years of hard film making resulting in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. Last edited by Panther; 01-10-2018 at 06:51 PM.. |

In all seriousness, this is going to be a great year for collecting. Toy Fair will be here soon enough, and I hope we can get some good reveals. |

I wouldn't use TLJ as an example of struggling since it still raked in serious money. Even if it fell short of optimistic expectations it was still 2017's highest grossing movie. I understand your point about the difference between expectations and results but a clearer example might have been stronger, not that I have one on hand.

Well this was unexpected. Walked into Target to get some stuff and decided I would swing by the toy section. This Target has been notoriously short on Legends for the past 6 months but surprisingly they had every BP figure minus Namor and Black Bolt. Even with just seeing them in the packaging so far I am thoroughly impressed. These are the best applications of the face printing technology to date by a large margin.

Haha! Yeah I probably should get around to that. Its not too impressive but I’ll do it this weekend and send it to you through either pm or just post it in a collection thread. After the Patriots game though so probably Sunday morning. But You just gave DTL some ammunition though. He just recently quit screwing with me on that lmao. I’ll add my statues too.

Even though I have come to grow tired of the superhero genre (or should I say Marvel's brand of superhero film.) I'm hoping BP succeeds long term. Yet, with the way the world is, someone will find SOMETHING to pick apart this movie...(it's more of the same/phoning it in...not black enough/too black for the average audience...encourages sterotypes...second string hero...or my new favorite..."film by algorithm"...whatever they can think of these days,) and if the film underperforms because of it, it will hurt the chance of us ever seeing another film with a superhero of color (or sex or creed) as the lead. The movie might be a success financially, but first week receipts may be not enough to save the franchise and warrant a sequel if BP can't prove it has some staying power. And that's the things you have to worry about if the film is good. What if it's not? What if the script stinks? What if the trailers revealed everything? What if it's boring or insulting? Not everything Marvel has done has been a winner. Trailers are so well cut and edited these days, you really never know what you're getting until you put down your cash. I never thought Sony could screw up Spider-Man 3 when they revealed Venom. The trailers were intense, the music epic. The tone serious and dark. Venom looked scary, Sandman terrific...even New Goblin was fresh. What we ended up getting though was crying, hip thrusting, more crying, dancing, and even more crying. Oh, and Mary Jane lip syncing badly. Guess what parts they left out of those original trailers? Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 01-10-2018 at 07:19 PM.. |

Someone beat me to it with Justice League, but the point I was trying to make (and maybe was muddled about) was that nothing is guaranteed anymore when it comes to today's fickle movie audiences, who shock me at times with what they choose to be entertained by. And now, with the power of social media being stronger than ever before, word of mouth can absolutely slaughter second and third week box office receipts, turning what we perceive as long term successes into one night stands. TLJ may have been a success financially, but word of mouth also caused it to have the worst second week drop in movie history, and the movie is struggling overseas as well. Even worse though, while the box office is still really good, these sorts of things are not lost on movie producers and execs, who are now reportedly shaken about the strength of the franchise as a whole.

I want to stay on topic because I know mods will come through and make things “disappear”, so I will say that for me the Black Panther wave was strong. Eric Killmonger is my favorite figure, Okoye is right there with him. I bought the 12 in Black Panther figure, and I own two of the 6 inch Black Panthers...soon to be 3 for my Infinity War display. Black Panther is my favorite superhero and I cannot wait to see this film. Members of my family (part of the general public) have their tickets and that makes me even more excited. I love seeing people excited about something I’ve been waiting for my entire life. To quote Bart Scott, “can’t wait!” |
