M gonna have to go team Toybiz with Mysterio on this one. I was originally excited for the Hasbro one, but it's looking pretty cheap and lackluster in comparison. I'll still pick it up as I want the whole wave, but from a display standpoint, it's disappointing.

Might need lasik treatment. Hasbro version totally blows away the old TB version in every catagory you can mention. The fishbowl on the TB version looks like it could hold a few fish in it being so damn large.

To add to our super heated toy debate over Mysterio

The more I stare at the two, the flatter and duller the new version looks.
Now I'll give ya, the original Helmet/Bowl was a dud. But almost everything else was a winner.

FishBowl
- Hasbro. They only get this because the TB one sucked. But not a total winner as most will be looking for a way to "frost over" that bowl.

BodyType - ToyBiz. I don't like the normalized look of the Hasbro one. I like the comic book stylized look of the TB much better.

Articulation - I'm guessing Hasbro on this one.

Paint - ToyBiz by a mile

Costume Pattern - Again Toy biz, the gauntlets, boots, outfit sculpt...all pop on the TB leaving Hasbro looking flat.

Cape - TB. at least it has a little flare to it. the Hasbro just hangs normally.

and it's given that those spherical hip ball joint thing-a-ma-bobbles on all the TB figs were all bleugh..So Hasbro wins the hip socket portion of this competition...heh

The Winner and undisputed champion ...TB
but i'll be buying the Hasbro anyway so who cares.
He will DEF need some customizing/touching up.

Dude, he's a stunt actor. He's not going to be thin.

The gauntlets and boots might "pop," but they are also inaccurate to the comics.

Except the cape has a giant peg going through it and as Jay C showed, it falls off way too easily due to the snap on the front. Those alone instantly make it inferior.

The Toy Biz one has a snap on it? Mine has never once fallen off.

Also, I think we can all agree that both are better than this one from the Spider-Man 3 toyline.

So all stuntmen/Special effects technicians are big, burly body builders? huh.... interesting. I find that most stunt people just tend to be pretty average build but very physically fit (allowing them to double for actors of average build) So you may want him to be a massively buff body builder- on your shelf, that is perfect. I prefer a slimmer look for my shelf. It's all good. I may end up customizing the Hasbro one to fix his coloring and using him on the shelf... we Like what we like, ser.

You take that back! That is a near-perfect representation of Mysterio from the Spider-Man 2 video game!!!

This please. I love custom works, but often at times, I have been unable to veiw the thread until a new page of replies is created due to the page crashing on my mobile.

WTF? When did the white vision become a crystal balled sorcerer? This looks like the fevered dream of a lunatic madman.

The figures for that line were pretty interesting. Some of the villain characters that were done for that line were done in a "cinematic re-imagining" style (Black Cat and Kraven,) the inspiration being what the characters might look like should they ever appear in future movies. Many others were based off of the video game designs (such as Mysterio and Scorpion) while others still were based off of comic designs (Vulture, Rhino, Shocker.)

I dug that Mysterio at the time (even moreso because he was voiced by Bruce Campbell in the game, who even made some in-game Army Of Darkness references...) and I thought that it was an interesting and varied line at the time, even if they weren't up to high standard that was set by ToyBiz's legends that Hasbro had just acquired the license from only months earlier.

Those figures marked the beginning of the end for Legends at that time, as the Legends line become more and more difficult to find thanks to Hasbro's bad exclusive marketing, and as the figures themselves kept getting smaller and smaller until finally giving birth to the Marvel Universe line.
