Those cases look amazing! Great job. Overcrowding is one of my biggest pet peeves and sadly I'm about at that point with MCU- Your displays make me want to do some rearranging!

I know I've said this before, and I don't mean to devolve this into a big debate on the topic, but having grown up in the "Age of Venom," so to speak, I never got into Eddie Brock as Venom. I do love his design as Venom, but something about his role in Spidey's life just didn't compel me to like him. I think, taking off from what Triv said, the fact that he was a psychopath, a serial killer, a factor that couldn't be accounted for, just turned me off from him. I mean, sure, he had some layers to his character, but really, did Peter need another thing to make his crap life even worse? Did he really need to worry that Venom might show up and threaten his family while he was getting a bagel down the street? The guy needs some breaks.
When I was younger, during the era when symbiotes were at an all-time high, I dug them from an aesthetic standpoint. They looked cool, therefore they are cool, right? But as far as a story, I don't really care for them. They're all too one-note, even Venom himself, at least most of the hosts. It's why I got into Agent Venom so hard - his story had more depth to it, for my dollar, than any other iteration of Venom, even Brock (especially Brock - I don't know that I'm ever really gonna be a fan of him). Sure, you have some questionable decisions made during his tenure, some odd stories (I honestly liked the whole 'purging the symbiote of its bloodlust' story from GotG, even if I think it could have been written a LOT better), but Flash has had so much growth as a person, both with and without the symbiote, that he's always gonna be my favorite Venom. Hands down. Aside from Mayday in the 'Earth X' comics, but that's more due to the badass design ![]()

Ok, here's my little review of the Lizard wave.
Just in case I do repeat myself, I am an 80's kid whom grew up with 70's an onwards, thou I stop reading Marvel on the 90's (too busy clubbing). So because of that and other reasons, I am not that fond of Prowler, Noir, Punk, Gwenpool and Lasher. Spider-woman, Lizard and Mysterio I know very well, thou not the latest stories-except for Spider-Woman, since I always liked her, since a Marvel-team-up with Hulk I read as a kid. Here's my review: Most of the figures feel quite loose and thus, hard to pose without them falling. Also the plastic on some feel I little bit hollow. I first notice this with Tombstone. Saying that, I like all the figures as they are mostly new characters, or ones I didn't own before (Mysterio for one, Lizard I have an old TB one somewhere). From less to more liked, my thoughts: SPIDER-MAN NOIR: I hate the stiffness of the cape. It's hard to pose and the arms don't point forward in parallel. He feels the cheapest. Good mask thou. LASHER: Believe or not, I don't own any symbiotes (I kind of lie since I have original TB of She-Venom and Scream, plus black Spidey), but I like this guy. Thou I felt the plastic was a bit hollow. Paint and tentacles are cool. Like the feet too. PROWLER: I always found his design boring, but the figure looks good, and I like the cape and the menacing sculpt. The boot cuffs fit better than Cyclops, as I hated that. SPIDER-WOMAN: I read her latest comic and liked it, thou I will always prefer her classic costume. The glasses are cool, but I'm terrified I will lose them. At least one extra hand extended or shooting would have been great. The hair is nor quite line up on mine, but at least it doesn't have those dents as in Mockingbird. The face sculpt looks very familiar but I cannot place it (it's not Silk, thank goodness). I need a bike for her. Luckily, the next Widow have one. SPIDER-PUNK: no idea what's it all about, but I love him. Fun cool concept. I might pose him with my Freddie Mercury, Janis Joplin et al. Love the snickers and jacket. LIZARD: Crocodile Lizard is more MY Lizard, but sayin that the head sculpt is phenomenal. One small warning thou: clip the head, legs and tail first without the lab coat, it will be far easier. Also, I hate the segmented tail, looks weird. He's hard to stand up. Throwback from the articulated toes, but again, hard to stand without the tail. GWENPOOL: A character I know next to nothing, and who's comic i avoided like the plague due to the Deadpool gimmick. But this figure got the mostlve in accessories. And the bright colours will make her stand out on a shelf. I totally get this is the Miley Cyrus of super heroes, but her heart shaped hands can look wicked next to my Munch The Scream from Table museum. It's funny. And I don't want to be a grouch towards millennials. Her joints are weak, and that pisses me off. But it tells me how we get to get so many figures in one year. And that is cutting costs and have less controls on the QC of the figures. Overall is a good looking wave. It doesn't wow me as much as the Black Panther wave, but I love the diversity of characters, and the fact I did not own most of them. If you got to this point, thank you for reading. I'm off to Barcelona, where they have a lot of vintage shops, so I hope to find something unexpected... |

That was very kind of you. Thank you very much! Speaking of overcrowding, I actually removed a few figures from my display. The BAF Groot, battle damaged Iron Man and Cap from Civil War, Astral Doctor Strange, Mantis wave Star-Lord, 2 pack Star-Lord, 2 pack Spidet-Man, and Hela wave Thor. I put them in a different area because I couldn’t justify having duplicates in the story I’m telling. I also put Vulture on top of the shelves, because he’s a beauty and his wings are meant to spread.

@ErikTheDuck
I pick them up from post office in the UK. But I got them from someone in the US. We get taxed heavily so it makes no difference to me. |

@ Panther.
I hear you. Trying to streamline the shelves is hard. I have eleven cabinets, and it's impossible to set in a clean manner. I tend to pile up steps of small boxes from the Classic Marvel Figurine collection. Or in cases like Fing Fun Foom, he deserves his own display with a few figures. After 20 years collecting is a hard job to manage in a no-messy way. |

UGH. Why does Lizard have a t-rex head? At least it is better than movie Lizard though.

Venom has gone the way he has gone over the years due to an over-saturation of symbiotes, and the fact that they got away from what made the character what he was...Spider-Man's anti-thesis, great power with little responsibility. Outside of Norman Osborne (who has his own symbiote now btw...SMH) Venom was Spidey's most dangerous foe. He wasn't interested in amassing wealth or power. He didn't bother with robbing banks or trying to open portals to other worlds.
Venom's sole interest was killing Spider-Man, and anyone else who stood in the way of that goal. I’m not surprised a comic company would capitalize on the concept that makes a character unique and popular. Creating a dozen variants of the original while losing its essence in the name of character exploration or more commonly exploitation. Thanks for the quick review and pic of the entire wave. Happy hunting in Barcelona, Ariellagunas! |

@Boy Blunder
I could not agree more with your write-up on Venom. Glad to know I am not the only one. Agent/GotG Pre-Space Night is easily my favorite iteration of Venom. I have never been a Brock fan. |

Well, isn't he in the upcoming waves? I'd love that MCU version.

Right now the news is that there is no Ant-Man & The Wasp wave. They're just gonna release Ant-Man and Wasp as part of the Infinity War wave.
