Pass. I mean, they look cool on first glance, and I'm with Kain on the new effects pieces, but something looks downright... weird with Venom's proportions. Carnage is all right, but I'm really realizing that I'm just not the symbiote-guy I was in my youth.

Now, if they also do a Flash Anti-Venom or Mania, then I'll bite, but for initial reveals... not interested.

Interesting reveals. I'll pass though because I'm not a huge Spider-Man/Symbiote fan and I've already got a Carnage and Venom I'm happy with. Not everyone does though, so this wave is great for them. As for other symbiotes, depends on who. I'm not interested in the Lasher from the Lizard wave, but I think if they do any female symbiotes I would probably get them, just because we have so few female villains.

Someone else mentioned it recently - but to echo their sentiments - I would definitely be down for a new MvC styled Venom, in a nice blue - or at least with obvious blue highlights. Sorta like the ol' SMC Venom - but with better articulation.

The Venom sure makes it look like we'll get an Eddie Brock head... but a Cletus head would be an awesome surprise!

Wouldn't put it past them, to help further differentiate these from the previous Venom and Carnage releases.

Hoping for an updated Julia Carpenter Spider Woman in the Venom wave.

Oh, now there's something that would sell me on these. Decent Eddie & Cletus heads would make them stand out.

Yes! The ToyBiz one and her inherited man-hands looks even worse since we've had the Hasbro upgrade from the Thanos BAF wave. I tend to hide her near the back...

ALl I see from Venom and Carnage is cheap re-releases. New head on venom and "back piece." Canage is just interchangeable hands.

No really impressed at all. SAme with the Sentinel having batteries...it screams re-release.

The variant of the MODOK wave Spider Woman.

Though, the Thanos wave Jessica still has some pretty huge hands.

Hopefully they fixed the wobbly leg syndrome that plagued him previously.

Oh, one of the few variants I don't own from toybiz. That figure in general is pretty bad.

One area where Hasbro has pretty easily surpassed ToyBiz is in sculpting the female characters. ToyBiz's women tended to look terrible.

A Venom wave...hm. Kind of a limited selection of characters to pick from without digging into Spider-Man's turf and wonder what the BAF is gonna be.

Would love to see Ghost Rider Venom just because I think it would make for an awesome figure. Definitely need Flash Thompson Anti-Venom or Mac Gargan Venom. I would imagine they'll do She-Venom and probably a couple of those other symbiotes to go with Lasher.

For a non-symbiote character, I'd love if we got Mr. Negative.

I am thinking in addition to what we've seen we'll get another Symbiote villain since they've already done Lasher, possibly Agent Anti-Venom, and perhaps a movie Venom (hence not showing it off).

It could also be like the Black Panther wave where a lot of the choices are only tangentially related to Venom.

There were a few I still like - although that's not to say they've not been surpassed.

Ms Marvel, Invisible Woman, Black Widows, Elektra, Phoenixes and Storm (tiny head syndrome aside) were all pretty good imo.

Spider-Women, Rogue, Shadowcat, Black Cat, Mystique & Scarlet Witch were all stinkers.

Hasbro have had their own share of suspect female figs, especially in the early days. The first Sharon Carter has a horrible headsculpt. Tigra and Savage Shulkie were both pretty weak - and their Mystique was barely an improvement on ToyBiz's effort. Don't get me wrong, on the whole, I agree that Hasbro has outdone ToyBiz - but they ain't perfect.

IMO.

Amen to that. I was sooo happy to replace her on the shelf. In fact, I hated her so much that I repainted a TB Psylocke to replace her until we got a better version.

Found a blurry pic from an old collection photo:

Found a blurry pic from an old collection photo:

It shows a lot how far Hasbro has come since they first got the license.

Then:

Then/Now
How could I have forgotten those atrocities! Having said that, there is still a reasonable likeness to Dunst there. Maybe just a KO version. Jean looks more like a young Judge Reinhold in drag.

I've actually just managed to sell an X3 Dark Jean (the one that looked like hungover young Judge Reinhold in drag) for £17 ($24) - which was pretty satisfying.

Mr. Negative would be seriously sweet.

As for other Symbiote characters, I fully expect to see Scream. She was on the fan poll last year, and did reasonably well. Hasbro has put out a great deal of the characters who have appeared on the polls regardless if whether or not they won, and since Lasher (also a fan poll character) has already been made, I have no reason to believe Scream won't. Just add Medusa's hair on top of a Carnage head with some red and yellow paint and you're done.
